Good morning, it’s a very cold -3.8 outside and only 15 degrees inside as the heating hasn’t kicked in yet. We’ve had another small amount of snow. Thankfully being retired I’m still under the duvet, I feel for those folk who have to go to work, school or college. Keep warm if you can.

We had a walk yesterday on the very icy pavements but we were wearing ice grippers on our shoes which proved a godsend. I can highly recommend them.

Good morning, it’s very quiet on the forum at the moment, I wish some of the old regulars would come back, we miss the gaffer @Chris @liampie @CliftonMagpie @TheSkipper where are they all? I hope they are ok.

Well today is a lot warmer the snow has been largely washed away by overnight rain so it should be less hazardous on our walk today.

How are you @Robbie @super_ram @Piethagoram ?

Sorry to hear you are under the weather @super_ram turn the heating up and stay warm.

We decided to turn ours up so it was nice and warm in the house, after all we got £200 from the government so might as well use it.

@super_ram get well soon, honey, butter and sugar warmed in the microwave is the way according to my nana. (I know they didn't have them back in the day, she used a pan of water on the open fire and ingredients in a tough glass).

I have just thawed out from Monday's walk to work and back, and done it again today so I will probably be thawed by Saturday 🥶 all ready for our away trip to Oldham on the television. Glad to hear @Fan of Big Tone keeping warm in this climate is a must for us pensioners 😀 and as you say this very kind government of ours has contributed towards the cost.

Sorry to read you are not feeling well @super_ram Now that I have become older I feel the cold. Even though our heating is on I've been wearing a fleece even in the hose since the cold spell started. Even when I go out briefly to take out the recycle & garbage I put a winter coat on and hat. I will always ensure that I'm wrapped up well. I recommend it.

Thanks all for your cocern.I'm ok ,just feeling a bit sorry for myself and fed up feeling colder whenever I move.I ought to be grateful that I'm retired now and don't have to venture outside. The downside of old age is that I feel the cold more than I used to but it seems that everyone is feeling the cold more than usual in this current cold snap.Roll on summer!!!

Get well soon @super_ram and wrap up warm the rest of you!

I ventured out to work under a blue sky and a fresh temperature of -7 this morning. It felt strange to be wearing proper trousers again, but on the plus side I got to see the sunrise. Then when I was in the office I found out that a bomb from WW2 had been discovered at or near the railway station where I'd been before just an hour previously. I made it home again without being blown up!

On a very different and much sadder note, a friend of mine died this week. She'd had cervical cancer and it finished her off in just a few months. She was in her early forties. If anyone reading is delaying getting checked up, don't.

Death is always difficult to deal with especially when you know the person, a good friend of mine fought Prostrate Cancer for 4 years but it took him in the end after a hard fight and plenty of positive effort.

Up and out early this morning, it's quite mild and very quiet outside. Probably the lull before the storm, we'll see.

@DangerousSausage my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends family and friends. Tough times. 🙏

Thoughts with @DangerousSausage A friend of mine lost his eldest sister to brain cancer recently. A visit to the GP re headaches, sent for scan, cancerous brain tumour found, gone within a month. His other sister, survived leukemia twice now diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, life expectancy less than a year😭

I think lull before the storm, what devastation has storm Garetti played at our doorstep. 🌨️

Had to fetch the gaffers two horses in at 5 this morning, fighting through snow, wind and freezing conditions. She is happy now they are warm and fed, bless them. Then a drive to deliver her, and make sure she gets to work, Side roads are a little iffy and the 614 isn't great either. I think the council have gritted but not pushed the snow to the side , which i think would of been possible and made things safer for all. Back now to have a day working from home, happy days 😊

Morning all, quite a bit of snow here but I suspect it will soon be gone when it starts raining. We have nowhere to go apart from opticians for Mrs. T but that’s a short walk, other than that we’ll be hunkered down till it’s gone.

We've had about 30 mm of Snow here last night. It's already starting to thaw a bit. We have a yellow warning for Snow up to Midnight tonight.

I know lots of other areas have had a lot more than what we've had. Apparently the Schools are closed around here for 30 mm of Snow.🤔

Good evening all not much going on here today, but I see Forest have been dumped out of the FA Cup tonight by our old enemy Wrexham.

Things go from bad to worse for the Forest owner. What's the betting them having a new Head Coach before the season ends.

Morning all, it’s a cold start here -1.5 degrees so all the snow and slush has frozen which will make the pavements and roads very hazardous, take care if you’re going out. I won’t be going anywhere today, I walked up to the opticians with Mrs. T yesterday and the pavements were awful, it’ll be worse now it’s frozen.

@Robbie yes I saw the F*rest had been knocked out of the cup, not a good season for them at all I don’t think Dyche will be in the job very long.

Good morning it’s a tad warmer but there’s still lying snow on the pavements and side roads here.

I had some sad news last night that a fellow ‘Pie has died, I knew him since I was 17 when we used to work together and travel to away matches in the 70s in his battered old van. He was a good friend that I’ve kept in touch with all these years I’ll miss him, RIP Bob.

Good morning, garden still frozen over... had a few days in Bonnie Scotland this last week for my birthday. £45 return ticket from Kings Cross was a bargain... will do it again at that price, though it was booked 2 1/2 months in advance!
