Good morning, at last the snow and ice has gone, the temperature is a balmy 8 degrees this morning, which means normal life can resume for us. We’ve been staying in because of the slippery conditions, Mrs. T suffers from Osteoporosis which makes her bones brittle if she falls there’s a real danger of breaking a bone so we weren’t willing to risk it.

Today we’ll have a nice long walk to make up for our inactivity of late.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning one and all, nice to see a clear picture, and as @Fan of Big Tone says all the treacherous surfaces have been replaced by easy going ones. Hope you have a nice pleasant walk, and for Mrs T, steady as she goes.

Not my usual self this morning, think I have a water infection, so off to the doctors later to find out. Antibiotics should hopefully do the trick.

Have a good day everyone and make the most of the weather as its changing over the week.

Just noticed that yesterday, completed 10 years on PoN

Had a quote for a new bathroom / toilet renovation of £9.5k.... no gold taps even at that price!

Congratulations on your ten years @Piethagoram I’ve been a member for 13 years although I did spend a few ears in exile. 😂

£9.5k 😲 I’d use that for 2 or 3 cruises and keep my existing bathroom.

Good morning it’s a dull dreary start to the day here.

Our son is jetting off to Cambodia for two weeks to do a charity bike ride, he’s riding 650 km across the country to raise money for poverty stricken Cambodian children and their families. Goodness knows why he’s doing it, as he admits himself he’s overweight, drinks too much and is far from athletic, I hope he’s going to be ok we’ll be worrying til he gets home. He’s raised over £6,000 so far.

To think of others is brilliant, to actually do for others is a privilege. I wish your son @Fan of Big Tone a happy and trouble free journey. May his kindness and thoughtfulness be rewarded with a safe and painfree 650k.

I don’t know about pain free, he’ll certainly have a sore bum. 😂

@Fan of Big Tone saddle soreness is par for the course I'm afraid. Treatment is key especially with petroleum jelly 🤣

Good luck to your son @Fan of Big Tone .It's the kind of thing I would have loved to do when I was (much) younger but family commitments, finance and football fixtures seemed to get in the way.

Thanks @super_ram I just hope he’ll be ok, I know he’s a grown man but we still worry about him. Especially after we lost his brother.

It will certainly be an experience for your son @Fan of Big Tone & a big adventure. Going to the other side of the World & the flight will be an adventure in itself. Hope he has a great time & stays safe.

Marvellous to hear @Fan of Big Tone , you can truly be proud of your son. Let us know when he triumphs. It'll be a great achievement.

Five days on and I hope the end is in sight, @Michael D Pie.

Thank you @theAnticlough for your concern, I think the antibiotics are doing the trick.

@Fan of Big Tone I have a distant memory of how your son feels as I was coerced into completing the New York marathon in 2003 for charity and by hook or by crook a time of 5 hours 12 minutes was recorded and what a great sight Central Park was, little did I know there was still over a mile to go. Secondly, once again i volunteered to walk a hundred miles of the Great Wall of China, what excitement as this was the furthest I had ever travelled. But comradery and a little alcohol worked wonders until I drank from a bottle that had been urinated on by rats, resulting in dysentery and the best diet ever, a loss of 3 stone in 10 days. The rest is history, I wish your Son well.
