A defeat for Notts today after they had Norburn sent off after 20 minutes after a 2nd yellow card.

Notts showed lots of spirit in the first half & came back to draw at half time after going behind twice, but Chesterfield took control in the 2nd half & got the inevitable winner to inflict a 2nd home defeat in succession for Notts

So who is you Man of the Match for Notts. There were certainly some good performances in the first half to pick from.

There are the players that I have chosen for you to pick your favourite. I didn't include Norburn.

Belshaw, McDonald, Platt, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Palmer, Jones, Iorpenda, Tangen, Dennis, Macari.

Platt was doing OK before his injury (marking him for CB work rather than Right-back). Iorpenda was sponsor's MoM and that's a good pick too.

I'll give my vote to Rod McDonald though. I thought he had a strong all-round game.

(the goals were more about defensive lapses such as poor tracking, weak efforts to block crosses, and Bedeau and Jones failure to mark players at the back stick.)

My standouts today are Platt before he went off, Iorpenda, & McDonald when he came on. I also thought Jones played well in the first half.

I think it is a very close call for my favourite to take this week's gong. I could easily have chosen Iorpenda, but I'm going for Jodi because he is getting back to the player we know he is.

Tom Iorpenda deserves the Man of the Match, there's no question.

I think only two other players could be considered, and even then I don't think combining their performances would match what Tom put into the game. He had that drive, passion and hard work you would want in a local derby game like Notts vs. Chesterfield.

Unfortunately, only in glimpses and his performance especially in the second half was as frustrating as he seemed to be himself. Very poor for me, but I do feel we should have attacked more earlier in the game and in the second half with Jacob Bedeau and Jodi Jones as they do work well, but Rod McDonald seemed to be getting further up the pitch and to be honest him and Matthew Platt are preferred at least for me in their defensive duties.

I get your point @Chris

I voted for Jodi because he produced two moments of high quality that led to the Notts goals.

I thought that the other players I mentioned did well too.

It was disappointing result as has been documented elsewhere but I thought there were two great performances from Jones who put some great crosses in and assisted both goals and Iorpenda who gave his all on the pitch with a great performance so between the two Iorpenda just shades it for me.

You didn't have to justify your comment, Robbie. Your vote is your vote but for the conversation purpose I just wanted to add that he wasn't all that good in my opinion.

McDonald - without a shadow of doubt once Platt went off. He didn’t put a foot wrong all game, commanding, assured and physically strong enough to keep their strikers quiet. Not directly at fault for any of the goals.

I like Iorpenda, a lot, and he was his usual busy self but I simply don’t get how he could be MOTM yesterday. He started brightly and showed a few glimpses of quality on the ball in the second half, great ball across the box - but that was it. Not a telling pass, nothing creative or imaginative just a genuine, hard working display. I thought he, together with Tsaroulla and Bedeau were the pick of the rest but McD (& Platt) was head and shoulders above them for composure, quality and effectiveness.

The poll has now closed. Thanks to all who voted. I'm pleased to announce that by a small majority, Tom Iorpenda has been voted the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match v Chesterfield. Well done Tom.
