Eh? you're really awarding points for people who haven't posted???

So someone who takes the time to remember to post and only gets less than 3 points is worse off than someone who doesn't bother or forgets.

Knowing my track record I'll be better off not posting my predictions. Lol

done, tah for the reminder

No probs @weymouthPIE

@Dan, people go on holiday and may not have their laptop or a signal, others may simply forget(as you have :rollonfloorlaughing:)I just think 3 points is a fair compensation in such situations. So shut up or I'll send Billy bonehead after you.

Wow I'm amazed, I thought this was a joke!!! So I could not bother predicting for the rest of the season and win the league!!! What a farce. What's the point in having a PREDICTION league if you can win the thing without having to, er, predict anything!?!?

I forgot a few times last season and again in the world cup one.

The only way around it instead of giving people points for forgetting to post is for everyone to send James a 'default score'. So everyone says "Put me down for 1-0's or 2-0's or 2-1's if I forget to post" at least that way you're actually PREDICTING rather than getting points for NOT predicting!!!

@Dan ,my suggestion is aimed for members missing the odd post due to forgetting or whatever reason and to encourage anyone who may wish to join .@notts -joe won last year with an average of approx 3 .5 points per round. If you actually post you can get between  16( :rollonfloorlaughing: ) and 0 points, If someone had  joined on the last day last season they would still only  have finished 7th and you would have been higher.

I have to agree with Dan. It punishes those that predict and rewards those that don't. I reckon I'll get more points by not posting for the rest of the season. 126 points plus what I have already. Top 5 for sure.....

It's nothing to do with being competitive, it's about rewarding people who don't bother to post, it doesn't make sense. It's like the football league saying to Notts "Oh we see your best player is out for the season, tell you what we'll give you a point each game because he's not playing"!!! You can't have someone getting 3 points for not posting when there will be loads of others who HAVE posted who wouldn't have got 3 points, it's just not fair on them (and I'm saying this as someone who missed loads of times last season).

The only way to do it is like I said above, people send in default scores to cover it.

3 points is a hell of a lot. There were ELEVEN people who got 3 or less this week and NINE the week before, so it is quite hard to get 3 points at the best of times. There was only 4 people who got more than 3 points this week. So going by your new rules the 11 & 9 people would've got more points if they'd not bothered to post. That can't be right. It's bonkers.

Oh dear,I didn't mean to open such a can of worms.I see what you're saying and understand your concerns @Dan.As I said I was just trying to compensate anyone who very occassionally forgot to/couldn't post a prediction.Leave things as they were @weymouthPIE unless we go with Dans suggestion or anyone  can think of something.Apologies for upset caused.

I've got to agree with @Dan, we need to rethink this, it's not going to attract people and make them want to post is it?

Blimey charlieI didn't think folks would get so touchy over the scoring system for a prediction league which is simply a bit of fun   :P

What do you suggest instead then?
