Reece Brown signs

One month youth loan.

The England Under 18 midfielder played seven times for the Blues last campaign and is highly thought of at St Andrews.

His calming influence on the ball, his determination in the tackle and excellent passing range will be an asset amongst the ranks.

He made his first full league start in January against Yeovil Town and his display in the middle of the park was rewarded with the man of the match.

Shortly after Brown penned his first professional contract for City, a club he joined when he was ten years old.

Brown will go straight into the squad to face Bristol City on Sunday. Look out for reaction on Magpie Player later this week.

Welcome aboard Reece.

The last young hopefuls we've got from Brum include the terminally useless Luke Hubbins, the much maligned but not completely ineffective Jake Jervis (now plying his trade in Scotland, I believe) & the hugely talented but misused and poorly treated Krystian Pearce. That lad had his confidence shattered, allegedly, in the name of "motivation"!

Hope Mr Brown fares better than they did, tho' Pearce looked class for the most part to be fair to him. Best of luck to young Reece.

Agreed about Pearce. Could have been a legend for us if treated and nurtured correctly. Always had shining moments, but those in charge only focused on his errors.

Don't get the point of one month loans unless covering for injuries and it looks like we are okay for injuries in midfield now, still I've only heard good things about him hopefully can do a job for us if he gets a chance.

He will get his chance, ive heard he will start tomorrow and Birmingham expect him to start the majority of the games while he is here on loan.

Thought he did quite well today, not a bad signing

Well he's gone back due to a injury, Derry and Abbott are going back to the market to see if they can bring in another loan player.

its not a major blow, hope we get a true wide player tho.

Hopefully whoever comes in (if anyone) processes pace and skill, we need a player who can take on players and isn't afraid to run.
