Former Aston Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov 'like a little kid' again

Stiliyan-Petrov.jpg Former Aston Villa and Celtic midfielder Stiliyan Petrov says he feels "like a little kid" now that he is playing football again following his battle with cancer.

The 35-year-old Bulgarian was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in 2012 and retired in May 2013 , but is now playing Sunday League football for Midlands side Wychall Wanderers.

Petrov's treatment is due to end shortly and he says it is "incredible being able to smile again".

Brilliant story, so sad to this happen to someone who was doing fantastically well in his career. However, as always it's good to see him turning it in to a positive. I admire the fact he's playing for Wychall Wanderers because I suspect he could go higher, perhaps just beneath the Non League.

Hope he manages to step up and end his career having one last "big" day.

Good to see he's fit to play football and hope his recovery continues.
