Arquin halts Saddlers' charge

<!--url{0}-->Yoann Arquin earned his side a point from a 1-1 draw at Walsall whose run of five straight home wins was halted by Notts County.

Arquin was on the spot to stab the ball home in the 65th minute when the home defence had failed to clear a cross from the lively Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

It was no more than the Magpies deserved from a much-improved second-half performance and with better finishing they might have won.

Walsall began well on a heavy pitch and in the sixth minute top-scorer Will Grigg forced his way through, but saw his low shot cleared off the goalline by Alan Judge.

Grigg did collect his 11th goal of the season, however, after 29 minutes when County goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski flattened Jamie Paterson in a corner of the box and there was a delay while a flare thrown onto the pitch from the visitors' end was cleared.

Grigg kept his compsure to coolly send the goalkeeper the wrong way and give the Saddlers the lead they deserved.

But managerless County created more chances in the second half and were worth at least a point.

I love this title! It's pretty funny.

In all fairness his goal was pretty lucky, which is sometimes all you need but JCR's cross was perfection. We can't ask for our players to play like premiership players but when they click it comes together. It's a shame we can't install a "Mad Dog" team talk into them because that would inspire them in my opinion. Arquin came off from the bench and impacted, now lets get him doing this on the off!

How many goals has he scored now? Noticed comments by your fans on the general forum we post on about having the worst strike force.

Wiki says 6 (i thought it was 7) but BBC says 8, think wiki is league and 2 further was in the cup. Unless the 7th was the one against Walsall and it wasn't updated, would love to say for sure but my memory is iffy.

Steve- Febian Brandy doing well for Walsall now having an extended run. He didn't score Saturday but could have had two if not three penalties. What a handful he is for L1 defences. His chances at United were always going to be limited. Doing ever so well for Sadlers.

He was wasted at Notts, I think Joe would admit he didn't quit trying and wasn't used wisely enough.

Glad to hear that Brandy is doing well, he's very similar to Cofie (who's on loan at Notts) the similarities are quite striking actually. He's quite a trickster and used to entertain me when I watched our reserves, just a shame we can't make use of players of the likes of Cofie and Brandy. We sign too many in fairness, so never is a enough chance for certain youngsters.

I watched 3 of his 4 games.

He was isolated and often roughed off the ball, to be fair he did well. Never gave up but we have an history of not managing to make the most of the strikers we sign but he could of very well been useful this season. Goodluck to him at Walsall :)

P.s We don't have the weakest strike-force, just narrow-minded opinions when things aren't going well.
