Spent the weekend at Mablethorpe with our grandchildren, it was where we always went for family holidays when I was a boy so it was nice to relive it.

We did consider taking them camping but they are still a bit young so I found a static at Golden Sands for £40 per night which was very reasonable I thought. We spent both days on the beach it was quite warm for the time of the year but a bit breezy.

Caught the sand train to Mablethorpe and had fish and chips, tried to win a minion on the grabbers but after spending a fortune I went to a shop and bought one instead.

Great weekend.

Sounds like a nice way to relive your childhood with your family.

Never spend money on cranes or grabbers however!

 

 

You are so right @Countyman when I bought the minion there was a big pile of them so I held out my hand like a grabber and got my grandson to pretend he was pushing buttons and I grabbed the toy then opened my "grabber" hand it so he could catch it. I'm now known as Grandad the human grabber. :joker:

It sounds like you had a great time, always nice reliving your childhood.

Sometimes myself and @cheeky~k8 will take the children places whereby we used to go when we was little, yet majority of the time they aren't interested in the things like climbing, cycling etc. I blame the golden generation of technology!

Ellie is interested in climbing things and exploring places, the same with Ava. Jake just gets bored and starts moaning. Ellie will eventually want to go somewhere else. Us at kids used to go for walks and climb trees or hills for hours, where as children nowadays seem to get bored easily and want to go somewhere else.
