Stevenage (A)

So it begins.....

Stevenage finished in the playoff positions last year but lost in the semi final to Southend. They lost 5 times at home in the league. League 2 wasn't very strong last year so I wouldn't read too much into Stevenage making the playoffs. They finished 22 points behind league champions Burton.

Teddy Sheringham has taken over as manager and they have lost some key players. They also have a few injury concerns going into Saturday's game. It's hard to see where the goals are going to come from for them. Their pre season form is so so.

Notts should be capable of winning this one. Even a draw would be a good start. I'm going for 2-1 to Notts. Swerts and Stead with the goals.

Majority of fans who spoke to me at the Open Day, all expressed concern over Moniz not knowing his starting 11 and to be fair, it does seem to have some merit but I think that said, we should be fine. If we avoid the lone striker, I think we should create enough chances and hopefully Stead and Spencer can settle our nerves by hitting the target.

What line-up would everyone here go for? Any concerns about the starting 11?

I certainly would start Aborah, he will be able to handle the physical side of the game that Stevenage will no doubt play and we someone who isn't put off within the midfield.

At this stage, I think it will be a narrow win for us but the points are all that matters.

I think its going to be a tough start against a physical side in Stevenage, i'll go for a 1-0 Jimmy Spencer with the goal! So excited for the season to start again I just wish it would hurry up!

Will they be able to bully us now? It would be great to start the season with a win and comfortable at that. I think we can!

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Its hard to say really as its our first match in league two for awhile. I would hope we can start as we mean to go on and win this match tomorrow, but they will be hoping the same aswell.

I've got no idea how this will go or who will play with it being the first match it will ale me a few matches to sort out who is who.

Obviously I am hoping for a win.

Just attack and keep the ball a way from our own area, we should do well.

If football is stopped, we may struggle but if we pass or use pace, they will struggle. Lets go get them points on the board!

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Let's get right behind the players and make some fantastic noise!

I am very excited about the day ahead and the game, I hope those who are on PON who go report back here and for anyone who doesn't, don't forget our match chat. A great lady got it going, so we must try our best to keep it active. I will try and pop in to give some updates, lets see how we do! COYP!!

I have this feeling too, I think today's game could be very interesting. A steady defence and a decent strike force, the points could be ours.

Bright start, positive football and stern defending.

A poor challenge early by Aborah, he needs to watch it. Noble calmed him down! 674a693730d68cb9f58f1de81c8a84a3.jpg

3 points. Clean sheet. Happy with that. Injuries and red card. Not so good. Good job we have a queue of players to come in!

Easy to see what Moniz is trying to do.

Very positive football going forward and the defence did well, I was so pleased when the second goal went in - the fans reaction was electric. Good atmosphere today! There are things which needed sorting, such as how we relied upon Carroll and poor finishing but it's coming. COYP!

3 points and a good game by the sounds of it. Not so good is the cards given today but i don't know if thats down to the players or the ref as i wasn't at the game myself.

I'm not sure what Amevor's part was in the brawl which he was sent off for, all I saw was him get punched and wrestled to the floor. Good game though with lots of end to end action. Great assist by Stead for the 1st goal too
