Gladbach's donation to the migrant crisis

Featured Replies

I'm pleased to say that Borussia have decided to donate €1 for every ticket sold for the Champions League game at home to Man City. Given UEFA restrictions this means €46000.

I saw this.  I got confused at first though and thought that they were selling €1 tickets to migrants.  I did think that would be quite hard to arrange, so donating €1 from tickets sold sounds like a much more sensible idea!

Good on them. It's always good to see a football club trying to make the world a better place, doing what they can.

It's one of those stories whereby it gives you hope for the sport and shows it isn't all bad (corrupt).

I wonder if Blatter would be so open to doing something positive? I shouldn't give him ideas! Well done to Gladbach and good luck to them against Manchester City (who I don't really like).

A field where dreams become reality.

Nice to see this kind of thing happen. Football always gets bad press regarding its supposedly inherent selfishness and millions of pounds or euros floating around, but there are nice stories underneath the surface.

Fifa could donate x per goal score in both the champions and europa league, yet I doubt it would happen.

Goal per back pocket maybe! Well done to gladbach.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
