Passed away today at 87. Great innovator in many ways, a sad loss to the game.

Yes a sad loss, a football man through and through, I grew up watching him on Match of the Day.

Yes, very good footballer from what I have seen from video clips. I recall the earlier 'Match of the Day(s)' and his work within football, it's a very sad loss to the game. :(

To people of my generation Jimmy Hill was best known as a know-it-all pundit with a long chin, but in his day he was a true trailblazer. In Coventry he enjoys God-like status - he gave the club an identity (bringing in the sky blue) and was the last manager to get them promoted. RIP Jimmy.
