I believe Forest have a connection to AC Milan, similar to us and Juventus. I believe their founder/owner was from there, not sure on the full story but I do recall reading how Nottingham was a firm inspiration for the city due to strong connections.

Excellent link. I remember reading somewhere that they play in r*d and black because he wanted to incorporate the colours of Notts County and our neighbours from West Bridgford. That might be conjecture though.

Says he chose the colours 'to invoke fear in our opponents'. Notts could do with a bit of that spirit at the moment!
