Match Discussion: Game 4 - Monkey Hangers (A)

Hartlepool United have some real gems within their squad, which the majority of Notts fans would have seen last season - as their midfield have the ability to change any game.

They've started the season off well, currently sitting 7th with 5 points from 3 games.

Majority will most likely write them off, as it seems even the media go this far but they've got more than a decent midfield. Their squad know how to play together and last term, at least for me their problems was found within their defence and goalkeeper (who is good but he lost his head more times than he didn't).

I don't see this being 'easy' for us, if we go into this game thinking we will wipe the floor with them - I guarantee it won't be.

I see a draw or another loss, my head says 2-2 but I could easily see them scoring a 3rd.

Which Notts players would you select for the game? Score predictions? Thoughts?

What line-up should John Sheridan opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

.

Time to give Loach a try? I would like to see more of a partnership form with Stead and Forte.

This will end up being a draw I suspect.

Hope we win on sat.don't feel like my seasons has started yet #nothankstowork .first game of the season for me is crawley town away next sat.C-O-Y-P

Good result today, after going 1-0 down I didn't think we would get back level, never mind won the actual game.

Now we have three points, all must go towards achieving a home win - hopefully this will lift the squad and encourage better.

There was a shipwreck a couple of hundred years ago and a monkey was washed ashore. The fine townspeople of Hartlepool tried said monkey of being a French spy and hanged it...

Listening on the radio it was frustrating to hear Notts had started slowly, and again conceded early. It seemed to take the goal for Notts to play more purposefully. Like @notts-joe I didn't expect Notts to make the comeback as besides Stead who was going to find the net...well played Louis Lang! CoYP.

I watched the highlights in channel 5 yesterday, Jesus did Laign seem possessed! His surging run wasn't that of a defender! Why can't many of our actual players try this much?

Good result, I feared the worst when we went 1-0 down. Going by the highlights Hartlepool certainly had their chances to go further in  front, but the comeback shows character and will hopefully boost confidence.

I'm massively relieved. Now it'd be good to see us get our first home win and Forte break his duck for the season.

Nice behind the goal view....power of Stead's shot more visible from this angle than maybe from the television recordings

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel
