On this day 12 years ago, Stefan Oakes hit an absolute screamer from 40 yards for Notts in a 3-1 win over Yeovil, which was rounded off by goals from Glynn Hurst and Mark Stallard.

Oakes was one of those players who never did much (I remember him being skillful but immobile) but had a knack for spectacular goals. His dad was also in Showaddywaddy.

Yeovil were promoted that season too, so it was an impressive away win.
