Game 45 - The Tangerines (H)

Team: Blackpool

Date: 29/04/17

Where: Meadow Lane

What line-up should Kevin Nolan opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

I'm going to start off by predicting a 2-1 win for Notts.

The game should be fairly lively, though I'm expecting the focus of our opposition to be somewhat elsewhere. If we keep their strikers quiet and retain the ball, pressure will increase on them and although they're a decent side - I can see time and good chances coming our way if we aim to play directly. Of course, if Kevin Nolan decides to play defensive - this will only invite Blackpool to play.

So we'll either counter or take what chances come, but that said Jorge Grant could be key due to his eye for goal.

The Tangerines won't like players shooting outside of their penalty box.

An entertaining 2-2 draw. The issue we now have is that our season is over, so a lot of the motivation will have gone from the players as shown with the sloppy mistakes at the back returning. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet as Blackpool have too much power, but hopefully we will cause them enough problems in order to get a result.

Those fireworks! I almost dropped my camera and suffered a heart attack!!!

It was an interesting build up, really enjoyed it. I spoke to quite a few people as per usual, however with the group picture it felt like a nice way to end the season. The game itself was impressive for me, I felt we was up for it and each player contributed towards something on the pitch. Blackpool never really looked a threat to me! Collin seemed decent in goal, yes he did a few wobbles but nothing serious. Dickinson played alright, much better than normal and wasn't always beaten for the ball or left for dead by a pacey player.

Really, we should have won more comfortably.

I didn't appreciate Richard Duffy's outburst towards Adam Collin mind, plus a few minutes after he swore at Haydn Hollis. Then again, we could say our Player of the Season was lucky not to have been sent off.

The game had literally everything!

I expected more from Blackpool but credit to us for nullifying their threat and attacking well, unlucky not to have scored more, glad to see we wasn't in holiday mode..

Sounds like I missed a treat then. I'm sad I couldn't go but on the plus side I was plied with free pork pies! I'll be in town again in August and this time everything will revolve around the football ;)

By the sound of it this performance was a marked contrast to our last home game of last season, a 5-0 spanking by Carlisle. Hopefully that's a good sign.
