Posted August 5, 20177 yr #1 EFL - The Iron (A) Team: Scunthorpe Date: 08/08/17 Where: Glanford Park What line-up should Kevin Nolan opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be? Have your say below, join in with the Pride of Nottingham match discussion.
August 7, 20177 yr #2 Collin Tootle Duffy Brisley Hunt Milsom Alessandro Grant Hawkridge Forte Ameobi This is how I would start but I would be tempted to include some of the younger faces. Score prediction? 2-1 Scunthorpe.
August 7, 20177 yr #3 i think forte playing would be a good call, kn has said he will give him that chance but i dont understand why he has not already? we lack pace and he scored 10 goals last season right? bizarre.
August 8, 20177 yr #4 A few thoughts from a couple of your fans ahead of this one http://www.iron-bru.co.uk/away-fan-view-off-field-improvements-have-given-county-fans-reason-for-optimism/ All the best for the season
August 8, 20177 yr #5 I would just stick Forte up top, save Ameobi and Stead's legs. Pack the midfield because we can control the play this way, against Coventry this ideal was never going to work but against Scunny it could. I honesty think Notts will win 1-0, though most will probably be saying after the game (provided it happens).
August 8, 20177 yr #6 1-0 Jorge Grant. Moments before he hit the crossbar, and this sounds like much better football by Notts.
August 8, 20177 yr #7 it does sound like a good game, charlie slater is doing well but tends to ramble on a little bit. think grant and milsom sound like they are our most lively players.
August 8, 20177 yr #10 3-3, get in! Sounds like we were unlucky to go to 3-2 as well so good on the pies
August 9, 20177 yr #11 Sounds like a much improved performance, hopefully we can take some of it into the league now and get our first 3 points. On the negative side that's 6 goals conceded in 2 games now, although two of them did come in extra time.
August 9, 20177 yr #12 Much more positive on social media, I honestly think it shows we can do better but against Chesterfield the signs need to continue. I think Notts can count themselves unlucky, and whereas I don't agree with the lack of sportsmanship shown - lets face it, most of our fans would want any Notts player to do the same. It doesn't make it right but to overreact and act like we are above it seems wrong.
August 9, 20177 yr #13 First half Notts played the best football no doubt. The players seemed to run out of steam in the second half but played well. How Alan Smith's effort didn't cross the line i will never know but it was a game with a lot of desire and passion. All who played did so heroically, a much better performance.
