Fourteen men who had played for Notts County served in the First World War.

Dick Allesbrook, Ted Bassett, Teddy Emberton, Billy Flint, Horace Henshall, Albert Iremonger, Bill Jennings, Ike Waterall, Alf West, Arthur Green, and Reuben Grice fought for their country and returned home.

Arthur Clamp, James Chalmers and Andrew Mosley tragically died while fighting for their country.

Please take this opportunity to remember these brave men on this Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

I was at the Thiepval Memorial this last Monday. There is an excellent entrance hall to the site displaying the history. In memory of those lost.

Some brilliant players listed within above, yet all played their part in protecting not just the UK but the world. They have my respect... :)
