The play-offs - predictions?

Was just commenting in the other thread when I realised everyone was ASSUMING we'd make the play-offs. What a difference from last week, when I'd have put our chances at 50-50 at best. Now we turned up and got the result we needed against Coventry, which gives us a cushion of 4 points from 8th place (I'm assuming that either Mansfield or Swindon will win their game in hand). That's not a bad position to be in, as it means three wins from our last four will guarantee us a play-off spot. Plus none of the teams outside the top seven look like catching us - Swindon have got three points from their last four games and Mansfield have lost four in a row. Our form isn't great either but at least we've got points on the board.

On a personal note, with Waldhof in the running as well, I have the possibility of two play-off finals in different countries on two days! I might end up having to do a Roy Carroll :D

Just for fun, here's a prediction calculatorΒ on a Grimsby fan site. See what you end up with. Here's Dangerous "The Oracle" Sausage's final table. We will secure a play-off spot withΒ wins against Yeovil and GrimsbyΒ and will face Lincoln City...

Accrington Stanley 46 +31 94
Luton 46 +48 90
Exeter 46 +17 85
Wycombe 46 +25 84
Lincoln City 46 +18 78
Notts County 46 +20 76
Coventry 46 +16 76
Mansfield 46 +16 73
Swindon 46 +2 72
Colchester 46 +4 66
Carlisle 46 +7 65
Crawley Town 46 -5 63
Newport County 46 -4 61
Cambridge Utd 46 -11 60
Cheltenham 46 +1 56
Stevenage 46 -7 55
Morecambe 46 -15 49
Crewe 46 -17 49
Yeovil 46 -17 48
Grimsby 46 -26 48
Forest Green 46 -23 46
Port Vale 46 -19 44
Barnet 46 -26 41
Chesterfield 46 -35 38

Good results for us last night, Mansfield and Swindon both drawing. Now we have a six-point cushion between ourselves and the non-playoff wilderness, and are level on games with those wildling teams. Four games to go, a playoff position is ours to lose now.
