Happy Birthday Blue Peter

Blue Peter is 60 today. I hear our younger readers saying “who is Blue Peter?” No it’s not an elderly Chelsea fan called Peter, it’s a children’s programme which started when I was a lad.

Who remembers it? Anyone got a Blue Peter badge?

It's not really the same since they moved it to online only, for me its not the same and the original show died when they switched it.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I thought it was still on CBBC @CliftonMagpie

Happy Birthday to Blue Peter!

A show I loved to watch as a kid and it's a shame they have reduced how many shows they put out in a week, they just need to adapt to YouTube and other newer means but it's always been worth watching.

It takes you back a little when you realise that Blue Peter has been around for 60 years, happy birthday to the show.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

It's on CBBC, like the rest of the BBC'S children's programmes. It might seem like it's been kicked into touch when you grew up watching children's telly on BBC1 and ITV, but times move on.

Anyway, happy birthday Blue Peter! I loved that programme and still have a few Blue Peter books from when Mark Cooper, John Leslie, Diane-Louise Jordan and others presented it.
