Player ratings v Morecambe

Scholfield 6 - kicking not the best, did make one good save from a deflected shot.
Tootle 6 - still not the Tootle of last season, but did ok.
Stubbs 7 - didn't do much wrong, looks a good player in the making.
Duffy 7* - I know Duffy has his critics, but his reading of the game makes him our best option in central defence.
Milson 7 - looked solid, he has made the left back position his own.
Enzio 5.5 - can't fault him for effort, but we struggled to get him involved in the game and he missed by far our best chance.
Rose 6 - did a decent job in stopping them build attacks.
Alles 4.5 - had the first touch of an elephant and still can't beat a man.
Vaughan 5 - I though passing was supposed to be his plus point? He struggled to do even the simple stuff.
Doyle 6 - always made himself available for a pass, but his set pieces were poor.
Hemmings 6.5 - did as much as could be expected as he was often left isolated up front.

Mackail-Smith 5 - I was hoping he would be brought on, but not his best day.
Patching 6.5 - some good moments in the short time he was on.

A dull game which neither side did enough to win. I suppose we are a point closer to Yeovil, but we have to be far more creative if we want to stay up. The most disappointing thing is that in the last 20 minutes we struggled to get out of our own half.

Schofield 6 - Kicking is a bit dodgy but didn't really have much to do as Morecambe didn't threaten enough

Tootle 6 - A steady performanceΒ

Duffy 8 - Calm, comfortable and defended superbly

Stubbs 8 - Same as Duffy. Dealt with Bennett really well

Milsom 6 - Played decent at left-back. Another steady performerΒ

Doyle 4 - We couldn't get him involved in the game much in the second half. Like, Cheltenham, impact lessened as the game went on

Vaughan 2 - Slower than a bread bin and ended up passing it to the ball boys

Rose 3 - Get the ball, turn around, pass it back. Repeat, repeat, repeat

Enzio 4 - Missed a great chance to score

Alessandra 1 - Didn't make any runs. More movement in a solar panelΒ

Hemmings 6 - Linked up the play well like he did against Cheltenham. Midfield and the wingers barely helped him

Β

Subs

Mackail-Smith 2 - He's still illΒ

Patching 6 - Did more in 10 minutes than Vaughan did all game. Amazing what a player that can play a forward pass can do

Β

Ardley 5 - Set us up well but the lack of end product is becoming costly. Alessandra has to be dropped as well as Vaughan. Patching and Osborne have to startΒ

Schofield 7 - Caught or saved everything thrown at him, albeit not a lot.

Tootle 6.5 - Did OK after a long time out.

Duffy 8 - Well played again

Stubbs 8 - Won everything in the air.

Milsom 7Β - Did well defensively.

Doyle 6 - Played well when he got on the ball and defensively. Set pieces poor again.

Vaughan 0Β - Rubbish. So many simple passes going astray.Β  I can understand his legs going due to age, but his passing and shooting were supposed to be strong points.Β

Rose 5Β - Bad decision making in key positions. Hustled and bustled and got stuck in.

Enzio 3Β - Not involved, missed a great chance.

Alessandra 3 - Static and lack of touch lets him down time and time again.

Hemmings 7.5 - Again, linked up play well, but received no help.

Β

Subs

Mackail-Smith 1 - No quality.

Patching 6.5 - Passed the ball forwards! Should have been brought on earlier instead of CMS.

If most played over 6, why did Notts fail to get enough shots on target or even win?

I think most would be 5 or below, few would have been higher.

Firstly, I only rated 5 of the 13 players above a 6, which hardly qualifies as "most".Β  The reason we didn't get enough shots on target and win is because the midfield and forwards didn't play that well.Β  Out of the six of them I only marked Hemmings above a 6 because I thought he did a decent jobΒ  as a lone striker with very little support.Β  There are no right or wrong answers on topics like these, they are designed to give those unable to attend a general idea of who played well and who didn't.Β  By all means disagree with my ratings, but it would be more helpful if you offered your own.

Scholfield 6 - looked confident and okay.
Tootle 5 - did well defensively otherwise not much.
Stubbs 7 - best player on the pitch.
Duffy 6Β - he did much better but still constantly moaned and acted like he felt he was still the captain. defensively good, otherwise average.
Milson 5 - poor going forward, average in defence.
Enzio 6 - quite a good performance but he seemed to run out of steam.
Rose 6 - looked good in midfield.
Alles 4 - wasteful and empty in defence.
Vaughan 6 - did a lot of running and tried to influence the game.
Doyle 5Β - poor, distribution was not great and he looked a missing player/
Hemmings 5 - he tried and im mostly rating him a 5 because of the isolation he had.

Mackail-Smith 4 - did not managed to do much but he tried.
Patching 5 - looked okay.

This would be nearer to my ratings.
