One thing that’s just been pointed out...

With the peak likely to be over April and May, it’s a strong possibility that the play off finals will be held behind close doors.

They've just announced the delay to the Bond film due to limiting gatherings at cinemas, so something like this would make sense.

BT Sport needs to continue for a bit on the box then. Was going to cancel as soon as we go up, hopefully by May!

There is no vaccine against Coronavirus and that's why it is far deadlier than the normal flu. It's a deadly threat to those with underlying health issues. It will be next year before a vaccine is ready by all accounts. All we can do is prepare. make sure you wash your hands.

China  have reported a slowdown and as of yesterday only 5 people outside of Wuhan contracted it out of 119.

Basic hygiene and flu prevention you should be fine.

But given all the figures it's strange how they won't say the survival rate or recovery rate. Or even the age bracket/health issues those had who caught it.

Given how many have caught it compared to deaths, the ratio is low.

It will spread but i dont think it will be any worse than the flu in terms out people getting it.

i think it will rise but eventually go away, i think the uk has it at hand and provided nobody is selfish. it should be easily contained, my only concern is that some people might feel they can handle it by themselves and avoid quarantine.

follow the guidelines and we should be okay.

There's always some types that will look for excuses but, I doubt it will be many. Those considering going on holiday, where the Coronavirus hasn't been reported might be playing a riskier game than staying out and, sitting this out.

@liampie people are also gonna use this to skive work due to quarantine and statutory sick pay being the guidelines

yes, people keep talking about it at my workplace with us getting packages and shipments sent from all over the world.

it would be more scary to think it's floating around, than to get a few paid weeks off work. i would not like being off work, even if i got pay.

@liampie as long as you follow the guidelines after handling such things that are imported you should be fine tbf. I'm like you I'd rather be at work.

There's a lot of scaremongering going on, with these things there always is.

Just take care and be mindful of bugs.

@Countyman@Countyman

Exactly, they release figures but don't tell you what the survival rate is or recovery. Or even simple things like health issues or age groups.

There’s little to no panic over here so far, barely made the news. More mentions about Donald Trump visiting x, y or z.

Everyone has to play their part in defeating this virus, keeping cleaning is only part of the problem. When out in public everyone has to do their best to not spread it.

We've passed 1,000 cases in Germany over the weekend. Most seem to have been spread by people returning from skiing holidays in South Tyrol, which is one of the affected regions. The advice and measures are exactly the same as in the UK, but the health minister today "recommended" suspending events drawing crowds of more than 1,000 people. There's going to be a meeting about it tonight. My wife might be ordered to work from home next week, but at my place we're carrying on as normal for now.

It's also worth noting that the virus has an incubation period of two to four weeks and many people who get it aren't even aware of it, so many more people could be affected than we currently know. There's no reason to panic, but we shouldn't be complacent either. Just be extra careful, for the sake of the more vulnerable people around you. Whether banning events with more than 1,000 attendees is sensible I don't know, that's for the experts to decide. However, China contained the virus by putting whole regions under lockdown, Italy is following suit, and it looks likely that it'll be happening down our way pretty soon.

@KB1862 Before the weekend there were around 100,000 infections worldwide and 3,500 deaths. A 1.5% death rate is estimated as many people who don't get it don't show any symptoms (and therefore aren't diagnosed). Just wash your hands :)

South Korea has been hit with more cases, it's picking up elsewhere. I'm concerned how nations in Africa will cope since they don't have the medical advantages that some countries do.

It's not going that well for the QMC who have been hit with the norovirus.

Something different, but it goes to show how these things can spread and become an issue. People are advised to avoid going to the QMC.

@BromPie i read earlie that Korea are reporting a decline in new cases same as China. Now if China and Korea are both reporting decreases, thats a step in the right direction.
