So here we are - if you wish to play, send in your predictions by 3pm on Saturday and remember your joker. Good luck! Derby County v Watford Ipswich Town v Wrexham Bolton Wanderers v Bradford City Mansfield Town v Huddersfield Town Crawley Town v Accrington Stanley Crewe Alexandra v Chesterfield Eastleigh v Hartlepool United Morecambe v Yeovil Town
  15. Hope you both have a nice break @Fan of Big Tone We were promised some snow here but it didn't materialise although it has been cold all day. Hope that Notts have the pitch covered against the cold just in case.
  16. I hope you and Mrs T have a lovely break and the weather isn't too bad
  17. So what are your takeaways from the draw against Harrogate? In my opinion, Notts did well to force the draw in the end after a spirited & hard working Harrogate performance. Notts continue to struggle against sides that employ a high press & sit back & challenge Notts to break them down. Martin Paterson is the latest Notts Coach that is faced with this. Kudos to Paterson for changing things in the 2nd half & the substitutes did make a difference to the intensity of the Notts play. It is clear that Jatta needs support upfront with players that can link up with him. I think Martin may have learned a lot from the first & second halves of the Harrogate match. I think that we may see more of Dennis, Jarvis & Kouhyar featuring in the starting eleven & it is clear that Matt Palmer is very important to Notts in the centre of Midfield.
  18. I hope for more energy and urgency right from kick off and all the way through 90 plus minutes
  19. For two home games running we've seen the same slow-paced Maynard-style ball for entire first halves which hasn't been the possession with a purpose we were promised. There hasn't been a particularly intense press against us, in fact they've been very willing to see our defenders with the ball at their feet. Macari and Bedeau haven't injected any positivity or adventure into our play. Balls across the backline or to the feet of tightly marked wing backs in deep positions won't get us anywhere at all. We have to have the option of being dynamic down the middle. There's cover if those wide CBs surged forward and committed players and I think we really need them to do that a lot more.
  20. Palmer back in to start for sure. I wouldn't mind unchanged apart from that, we won the second half with Palmer on after all. Jarvis to come on, Jodi as well if he's fit.
  21. Just had a call from the owner of the cottage we are staying in and they have had quite heavy snow the schools are closing but the roads are clear at the moment, she says we can get there earlier than the 4pm check in so we aren’t travelling in the dark. She sounds really nice. Hopefully the weather is improving and the snow will be gone.
  22. Guess who’s going to Yorkshire tomorrow for a week! I don’t mind snow when we’re there but not to drive in while we travel there.

  24. Good morning all. It's zero degrees here& it's forecast not to get above 3 degrees all day. Snow has been forecast for Yorkshire so there may be a possibility that we might get a dusting here. In warmer climes. The Ashes series starts tomorrow in Perth Australia at 02:20 GMT. The first of five Tests. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a very competitive series. Australia do have injuries with two of their important bowlers missing the first Test. Can England take advantage?
  25. Morning all, -1.2 overnight so a frosty start here. We had a lovely Indian meal last night with our family, we went on the bus so we could have a drink, our son drove with his family as he wasn’t drinking, when he drove back there was an accident which had closed the road and he quickly realised that we’d be stuck in traffic on our bus, so he sent us a message while we were waiting for the bus to go back in the restaurant and he would come back for us as he knew a back route so he dropped the family off at home and came back to fetch us. Bless him.
  26. My take is that I hope Saturday’s performance is the kick up the backside the team needed. Let’s face it, we should have won that game easily. Hopefully now, they will be back on it this weekend as Colchester will make it even more difficult than Harrogate did.

  29. Will Jarvis gave it a good go and showed some promise, but he’ll need more time to earn regular minutes ahead of Keanan Bennetts and Nick Tsaroulla when they’re playing well. They’ve got the edge when they’re in form. It was nice to see Jarvis back in action. His biggest challenge seems to be lasting the full 90 minutes. That might sound a bit harsh, and I know some people rate him, but he’s a different kind of player when he comes off the bench. He brings more energy in short bursts. Notts did most things right against Harrogate. It was a tense game and you could see how easily someone might have been sent off out of frustration. Matthew Dennis was lucky not to be punished for that push after his penalty. The Harrogate player did barge into him and looked like he said something, but Dennis still took a risk.

  33. Yes, we're going to need him. I wouldn't have given him MoM, but nobody else was going to do anything to stop us losing, except Will Jarvis Our attacking midfielders will need addressing in January. But players being used there now can be either underperforming or unproductive (or both) and when both are off, it makes it very difficult to win. I think MP will have to try a couple of different things in that role because Hall and Grant are not McGoldrick and Crowley. Let's see Jarvis given a go there, Kouhyar, Dennis from the start to at least see it. But at least we're going to be seeing more of Jarvis from now on. MP will want him on the bench at least because he knows now atht he's a player who can turn things around.
  34. For me a takeaway from the Harrogate game is that Martin Paterson’s previous comments about the door being closed for one or two players, doesn’t include Will Jarvis.
  35. Agree, let's go back to crowds of 3.5k where we could a cursory wave to the next supporter sitting 10 to 15 seats away from oneself 🤣 My takeaway is that the post match "technical boards" may actually be working and Montague's input may in fact, have helped bring in Jarvis "from the cold"
  36. My takeaway thought from the match is not to get tickets for the back of the pavis stand, not only is it exhausting getting up there but it takes ages to get out as everyone lower down get on the stairways first. My takeaway on the actual match is that I hope MP gives Jarvis a run in the team.
