  1. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @JackMagpie95. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  2. Eion Musk's influence on the platform he purchased for a large sum of money is very negative. He resembles some of the decision makers in FIFA. Changing things for the sake of it, yes, sometimes things need to be done but not what he's implementing. He's going to kill Twitter if he doesn't stop and listen to it's users.
  3. Good signing for them, I think he will be glad to be back near to London, and hopefully they will get the best out of him. Good luck, Frank Vincent!
  4. I am thrilled to see Aaron Nemane stay, I think most of us thought he would be going, and I wouldn't blame him if he had decided to sign with one of the rumoured clubs like Portsmouth. None of know why it took so long, but I am just happy that he is still a Notts County player. I'm looking forward even more to life in League Two now.
  5. I've given the blog a follow. You know I will support you with any endeavours, @TheSkipper. I appreciate what you do for PON.
  6. One for, @Piethagoram. Luther James-Wildin. Before he made it at Stevenage, Wildin played for Nuneaton Borough, and he credited them for giving him the platform to progress.
  7. It's a great interview that discusses a lot of the talking points, I think the focus now has to be on the training and preparations for the upcoming season. Aaron Nemane isn't a concern now, the longer it is - the more likely I think it's unrelated to football with regards to his decision to sign. He may have other things going on in his life, but Luke Williams is ploughing on.
  8. They were cool collectables. My brother had the display piece which was the mountain, and he had every single one of them. I had the majority too. I also collected the monster wrestlers that were out in the 90s. Instead of wrestling though, I played football with them.
  9. The ultimate case of trolling, with the joke being on us. @DangerousSausage I have been tempted to locate a font similar to 'Jongleurs' but despite it being funny to replace it with Notts County. I didn't think many would see the humour in it.
  10. The sound clip actually plays both, you just hear what you focus on because your brain overpowers your eyes and makes your ears respond to it.
  11. Very little interest, although I watch a YouTube channel called Popcorned Planet that discusses celebrities in trouble. I got into watching it when Johnny Depp was defending himself against Amber . Although, if the channel did videos on boring things like strolls through a park or playing a board game. That's just silly.
  12. I personally don't like them; I think they don't look right either. Jake wants one of the retro kits of the 80's shirt. Each to their own, I say.
  13. De Gea is vastly overrated; he's like Harry Maquire - he can do well but often makes comical errors. I don't think in the last few seasons he's cut it out of his game quite a bit but whilst he's at United, he won't play much for Spain. He really could benefit from a fresh start.
  14. It's what it is, but the club will try to act upon this in the future. They've committed to a further 5 seasons, so we really need to see Puma up their game and release the kits sooner for us. I think the cause is probably 65% Puma, the rest Notts. I'm not going to complain about it because it doesn't matter. I just hope if club officials see how we fans feel, they'll try to get it sorted in the future. There's got to be some means of getting the kit earlier to the club.
  15. Oh for sure, if he does well he will be able to continue for many years to come. Even if the move doesn't work out, he'll get picked up by another club probably in the Championship or League One. He's got a great chance to do something special at Burnley.
  16. He's a good keeper in the lower divisions, with better players he could really go on and do well. I can see it taking some time, but his potential has always been floating around. When Liverpool signed him, he was supposed to be the next best keeper, but they never persisted. He did well to drop down, to find a club where he could truly settle. At 29-years-old, this is his chance to shine. I think if Burnley sticks with him and gives the time needed, he will come good.
  17. Boring.... Nothing to see here. I like the partnership, but I don't like teasing the shirt in order to get clicks on the sponsor article. If fans are having a meltdown because some red appears on the back, we've been here before and really, it's nothing. When we had the comedy club sponsor, I understood where fans were coming from with that. Yet not this, it's just petty as always.
  18. @Fan of Big Tone It's that brilliant standard of reporting that we've talked about recently. It seems that we have signed a new goalkeeper and there are rumours that this might mean Tiernan Brooks will leave either permanently or on loan. I believe there's some truth to this, but the fact is it's all vaque. It makes me believe that it's just discussions at the moment. I hope it's a loan deal, if we allowed him to leave I would be quite annoyed and disappointed. Yet a loan move makes sense.
  19. @Fan of Big Tone I think @liampie means record as video and share it onto social media. @Joe Jones went through a phase where he would put on his Instagram regular videos of his weight training journey. I personally think when it's being done for self-improvement and to be healthier than it's not something I turn my nose up at. Some of his videos were quite boring, as I couldn't watch them and go, oh isn't this great. Yet from a personal point of view I did think it was good he had something to focus on. There are people on Instagram/Facebook that record boring workout videos, either to kick off because someone glances towards them for a second or solely because they want attention for looking good. Those are the fads I hate. People who have to record everything is another fad that I have found quite annoying. Figit spinners I understand, I didn't at first, but it's a simple toy that keeps people quiet. I used to collect pogs as a kid, that was a fad that people didn't get but I thought it was fun.
  20. I know football is more enjoyable when your teams are doing well, that is natural, but I hope some of these stick around when things aren't as merry. I hope that some are old faces that I haven't seen for ages, fans I used to see but said that they had grown tired of watching Notts being run poorly. Our owners deserve a bit more support and if we are to move forward, some fans should be a little more loyal. Yes, I know there are a lot of commitments and costs. Circumstances are always different and, I don't really judge, but I do feel strongly that fans are their for the good and bad. I understand that in football, it's important to build a strong sense of community within the club, the Notts family, in order to retain fans during tough times. Hopefully, it brings in some nice pennies for the coffers!
  21. @DangerousSausage Have you seen the UK film, Ghost Stories? It was released in 2017. I would recommend it to you, if you haven't.
  22. This is why I have always spoken highly of Matt Palmer. He's just a quality midfielder that does all the stuff most fans take for granted. Tracking back to defend or to pick up the ball, his passing becomes a motor to move forward and into space. Palmer's partnership with John Bostock is unstoppable. While Bostock operates similarly, Palmer's strategic movements and quick decision-making skills allow him to effortlessly navigate the field, leaving other players in awe. He's by far the best all round midfielder that Notts has had for years. I'm hoping we can start getting a bit more out of him in terms of his finishing, but I do acknowledge that not everyone will get goals. I just think it's the only area he doesn't have confidence in or excel at, and it's natural. Palmer will have worked harder on what he's good at and that's why he's so good; I just think seeing him score a bit more would be nice for him.
  23. I think it depends on the type of comparison and how far you compare the players. When I talk about Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard - I do compare them up to a certain point. Then it comes down to personal opinion. I believe technically Gerrard was the better player but ability wise, Scholes had techniques miles better than him or Lampard. All three were superb players; the reason why Lampard and Gerrerd didn't work well with England mostly comes down to the formation and tactics. This is where I feel a comparison comes into play, as if we take the Notts formation. Lampard would take the Ruben Rodrigues role and Gerrard would fit into the Matt Palmer role. Leaving someone like Owen Hargreaves to play the John Bostock role. Lampard and Gerrard have a similar style, but one is better suited to play behind the strikers and the other can make attacking runs. Maybe they could even rotate positions, but Lampard wouldn't be good playing too defensively. You would have to give clear instructions on what they can and can't do, with a level of freedom. Clubs use comparisons as a means to replace talent. If anyone read or watched the Dan Crowley interview, he spoke about how he was labelled similar to Jack Wilkshire. Comparisons can be helpful when you want to find a player who suits your system and playing style. They can help you find a direct replacement from the transfer market or train a young player to take that position. I think they can be useful and fun for talking points, but also negative because it's very difficult to make a fair comparison. Both Messi and Ronaldo are amazing players, and it's fairer to compare them when they were playing in Spain. Yet once they went their own ways, joining Juventus/Manchester United and PSG. It really does end.
  24. The article seems strange, possibly because it needed to meet a minimum word count. Surprisingly, two people collaborated on this article. What exactly is the role of the Nottingham Post editor? Yet the strangest thing is, I live 5 minutes away from where the "report" took place.
  25. Google News should recommend all of our articles, but that's not always the case. The feed is a bit more tricky, but it's good to see it.
