Exciting times for PON. I have just published my own thoughts on the 'Transfer Committee' and there's some good pieces set to come into play, as @candian has written us a piece for the site.

Transfer Committee Comes Up Top Trumps
Back in mid-April, Notts County chairman Ray Trew announced during a radio interview that he would be creating a transfer committee at the club. This would consist of six members – all unknown at the time of the interview – who would discuss each player, before the manager, Ricardo Moniz made his final decision, as any manager should do if the chosen players were good enough for the club. After this interview, fans’ opinions were somewhat negative concerning the direction chosen by the club. The general opinion is that this would ultimately lead to bargain players being approved, as the general mood at the time was low. However, nobody knew for sure how this would work out and regardless it was the direction in which the club opted to go for. As the close season began, activity around Meadow Lane seemed very slow and fans hung onto any sort of transfer speculation linked with the club. When Notts made their first signing, it seemed that the mission of the current board and manager was to settle the worries and minds of loyal fans. The process of transfers is something generally handled on the quiet side at Meadow Lane it would seem. However, it wasn’t long before speculation and optimism started to creep into the fan base, with Ray Trew publicly voicing his thoughts on potential signings. Notts quickly started being linked with European talent, namely from the Dutch and Belgian leagues where Moniz has managed or dealt with before. Even names within the English division seemed to impress the majority. As the optimism increased, so did the transfers and, on merit, it seems that the transfer committee is doing a good job, as is Chief Scout Guy Branston who is heading the recruitment drive. It’s a little too early to say if it’s a complete success, but looking at the business done and achieved by the committee so far, it is certainly showing other clubs how it needs to be handled. With the club developing squad based on quality and not quantity, it’s easy to become excited when the players linked are of various skills and age ranges. It seems the five-step plan mentioned within local media really was the footprint for the success aimed towards the 2015-16 League Two campaign. Personally, I am satisfied with the direction in which the club appears to be going. I am also very keen to see the season underway and for fans to quickly jump on board, as success on the field for me can only be measured by the fans in attendance and naturally if Notts do get off to a bright start, the players arriving could seal a brighter future for this football club. It is a promising start for Notts, which does not warrant any sort of negativity remotely, and I am encouraged by the response I have seen. Let’s hope this season is a successful one for us, so we can finally push on together in the right direction.

Magpies land FA Cup hero Jon Stead
Steads interview on the Magpie Player really impressed me, yes fans can say he's bound to say certain things but for me I watch the posture and way in which they speak and he sends very good signals with his manner. My first impression was that we have a very good striker for League Two and we do, he will be an assist for when/if we gain promotion back to League One. We just need that goal scorer now, the one who will be like 'Wow, he will he score 15+', nothing against Jon Stead but he's all about hard work and the odd goal - which is good certainly. I am looking forward to see his goals. Thanks for the write up Jamie.

If you want to make Meadow Lane a better place
I think many of our fans would love the Sirrel era back, though I do think we need to bring some form of unity and push behind this season. I have witnessed how we lift the games when we are right behind the lads but I wouldn't so much questions the fans, as people have their reasons for not attending. What we really need a positive start and some good results early on. I am convinced with the hard work many fans put in, we will start to reap the rewards. Two relegation fights have taken it's toll a bit but we need to fight for the difference. I always like to say 'It's our club, our passion' which drives Notts forward. Good write up Dougie, I found it very interesting.

County Coup Belgium International
I'm hoping this guy turns out to be the biggest signing for us in recent years. He's plied his trade at an high enough level to suggest that he will be a very big player within League Two and I am pleased to see him linked with the Academy. This will be a double positive, so I hope he settles well in Nottingham. Massive coup for us! You Pies!

The future is bright... the future is Black and White?
I'm always excited but to some degree I have to admit I am nervous, more so with what happens if we get stuck in League Two. I think we'll be fine though, as we are pushing for leaders on the pitch. Set the example and get them to drive us forward, I am also happy with the squad shape. I think this year will be kinder to us because aren't exactly 'rebuilding'. We are strengthening

County coup record sponsorship deal
Absolutely massive thing for the club and what a successful coup this could be? Potentially, Ladbrokes could be a good alliance and the mentioning of having their own representation at Meadow Lane would be a good thing for both also. I am hopefully this won't be a one off deal, yet something which can really push us forward now. If we can secure a long term friendship, we may attract other sponsors in the future to provide similar deals but the important thing I suppose, is the fact we must nurture and spend this investment wisely.

Grealish learns lesson the hard way
I do feel that the national press are trying to feed of Grealish, nobody thought much of when Gazza and so many former brilliant players messed about getting drunk but I do think Jack needs to be careful because he's got an image which needs protecting as it could escalate towards ruining his upcoming career. Ex players like Stuart Pearce believe this to be over hyped too and I feel it's in his time. Young players of today just need to be careful but he's only 19, no different from anyone but his job is one within the public eye, so it's easy to scrutinize. Nice piece Jamie

County consider ex-Newcastle starlet
Adam Campbell is a player I would love to see Notts snap up, he's a very promising player and I do believe he could offer us something within League Two. Now rumour is, a set of Championship and League One teams are also interested but Adam has agreed to feature in our first pre season friendly. If I was Moniz I would look at keeping an eye on the interest shown within Campbell.

Notts Must Focus On Home Form
Absolutely that we must improve our home form, fans will be wanting to see victories from home and away - yet it is of great importance to be pleasing the home support. If within the 2015/16 we can just get that spirit back which has been somewhat lacking in recent years, I feel we will. Onwards & Upwards!

PONcast Extra (All-Stars Special)
Thanks for the responses and input folks, it's good to hear feedback. It's early days for the PONcast, myself and JJ had outlined the 7th episode as being the region whereby we felt things would have become steady. Yet, having said that I am impressed myself throughout the early days and the standard is something we keep adjusting too.

Newton & Tempest Deals
Former Notts County duo Sean Newton and Greg Tempest have secured contracts for their services, with the former Magpies set to face each other within the 2015/16 season within Vanarama Conference. 26-year-old Newton has joined Wrexham after being released by Lincoln City while youth team graduate Greg Tempest has gone on to join the Imps.“Once I heard that Wrexham and the gaffer were interested in me, then there was only one club for me, There were offers from other clubs, and others at a higher level, but this place ticked all the boxes.” said Newton. “I’ve played against Wrexham plenty of times and always thought this was a place I would love to play”, he added. Tempest, who made a string of appearances for the Northern Ireland Under-21s during his time at Meadow Lane, said of his move: “I'm grateful to Boston really. When I knew I wasn't in the manager's plans at Notts County, I had to get out on loan. “Notts didn't have a reserve team, so I was not getting any game time. Playing for Boston kept me involved and made this move possible." Pride of Nottingham wishes both Sean Newton and Greg Tempest all the very best with their careers.

Notts Runner Keeps Going
Alun is an inspiration, as someone who knew 'Anony' - I am touched by this and when I first that this was taking place, I knew it would be a nice tribute to the lady herself. Her death really shook me and I feel honoured to have known her and have been in attendance of her funeral. Our match chat isn't the same without her but Canadian and PTID have continued what she started. Well Done Alun for continuing and running for charity but thanks for doing it with Annoy at heart.
