  1. Really impressed by the team's fighting spirit. Conceding so early could have crushed morale, but Notts displayed immense resolve. Morecambe's defensive setup was hard to break, but the persistence paid off with Sam Austin’s brilliant cross and Platt’s first goal. Hats off to Maynard for keeping the squad motivated. It’s evident that we need to be more clinical in the final third, but the potential is there. I'm optimistic about Josh Martin’s debut; he could be a game-changer for us in future fixtures. Let’s hope for fewer injuries moving forward. COYP!
  2. It’s surprising to see how the voting has turned out. I voted for David McGoldrick, who has 59.46% of the votes. Matty Platt has 18.92%, while Dan Crowley and Sam Austin each have 8.11%.
  3. Middlesbrough 2-0 Stoke City Millwall 0-2 Preston North End Joker Blackpool 2-2 Burton Albion Wigan Athletic 3-0 Exeter City Gillingham 4-1 Barrow Newport County 1-3 Crewe Alexandra Woking 1-0 Sutton United Yeovil Town 3-2 Aldershot
  4. Tomorrow's fixture against Morecambe is indeed a stern test, but I believe in the squad's ability to bounce back. Our performance against Gillingham was not reflective of the result, and it's good to see Maynard focusing on the positives. Morecambe's pressing and aggressive style will definitely test our defence, but if we stay focused and maintain our high performance levels, we can turn things around. It’s also a big opportunity for our younger players to step up and show what they’re made of, especially with the likes of Muir shining so brightly. Come on, Notts!
  5. Jacob Bedeau's reflections on his time at Morecambe reveal the depth of his character. His positive remarks about the club and fans demonstrate a respect that extends beyond just playing the game. It's also clear that his experience there has contributed significantly to his development as a player. Now at Notts, Jacob’s enthusiasm and understanding of our club’s upward trajectory promise great things. His seamless fit into our team and optimism about promotion speaks volumes about his commitment. Here’s to a successful season ahead with Jacob playing a crucial role!
  6. It’s never nice to see a club in this sort of turmoil. Morecambe is a fantastic away game, and since becoming an EFL club, they have done remarkably well. It would be a shame to see their current owner undo all the hard work and put them in a situation where relegation is looming. It’s early days, as Stall keeps reminding us. Yet the signs aren’t good. For Notts, the timing couldn’t be any better with their form being so poor and their squad morale being low. All Notts can do is play their best and try to leave with the points. I wish Mark and Morecambe well.
  7. I think this match really shows how football is often decided by small margins. Notts controlled possession, but it felt like Gillingham were always comfortable. They didn’t allow many clear chances, and when they got theirs, Nevitt was clinical. It’s a hard pill to swallow, especially since we looked the better side for long spells, but possession doesn’t win games, goals do. Stallard’s analysis of Tsaroulla’s chance is spot on. That moment, along with Abbott’s, could’ve changed the entire dynamic of the match. If we take the lead, Gillingham would’ve had to open up, but we just couldn’t take advantage. It’s something we need to work on if we want to stay in the promotion race.
  8. It could be more serious than the club might want to say. Jodi has posted on social media. I thought he might put something out, but he either doesn’t know yet himself or it’s going to take time to get a proper scan on his ankle/foot/leg. I hope it’s not that serious. We could be lucky, and it’s just badly bruised.
  9. At some point, I have probably said or heard all of these. It’s like being asked if you’re busy or free while on the phone. Just say why you called and get on with it!
  10. 46 votes. It would be nice to see that reached next time and eventually surpassed. Well done to Jacob Bedeau.

  12. I'm really optimistic about our chances against Gillingham, especially with key players like Rob McDonald and Lucas Ness close to return. The pre-season definitely seems to have paid off, as Maynard’s system is now well-oiled and effective. The way he has the team both attacking and defending as a unit is commendable. Our ability to score, even without key players like Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley, speaks volumes about the squad’s depth and adaptability. Maynard is right to focus on our style, while matching Gillingham's physicality. Can't wait for the match, Meadow Lane should be rocking!
  13. The interview with Gillingham fans highlights just how much they back Bradley Dack to lead them to success. His importance to their squad is evident, and keeping him fit could be crucial for their campaign. Our defence will need to be particularly vigilant to counter his creativity and goal-scoring prowess. On the flip side, our offensive strategy needs to focus on opening up their sturdy defence, which has only conceded a few league goals. Our players must be prepared for a physically demanding game, but if we stay disciplined and exploit opportunities, there's a lot we can achieve. Overall, a big game awaits, and I’m hopeful our squad is ready to take on the challenge.
  14. If he hadn’t signed before the Bromley match, fans would be eager for it to happen. For all the right reasons, he has agreed to a new deal. He could have gone anywhere after we got promoted to the National League, but it feels like he’s started a journey he truly wants to be part of. His comments about “feeling at home” at Meadow Lane are clear. This is a good article on the news, his reaction, and the interview I saw where he spoke so openly about his decision.
  15. Matt Palmer returning to the lineup was exactly what we needed. As fans, we've missed seeing him at the centre of our midfield, orchestrating play and leading by example. His composure during the match against Bromley, especially after such an early setback, demonstrated his high calibre as a captain. He not only recognises the obstacles the team faces but also actively contributes to overcoming them. His praise for the team's depth this season gives us fans a lot of optimism moving forward. We’ve got a solid squad, and with Palmer back, the sky's the limit. I’m excited for the rest of the season and what we can achieve with him at the helm.
  16. No doubt, Stuart Maynard showed a good understanding and reading of the game. Those changes were important. Bromley took some adapting and those goals early on were a major setback, but it never looked to be a costly issue. Bromley were good, but we showed our quality to go forward and get that first goal. Jodi Jones performed very well. The midfield being so focused on getting forward should also overwhelm teams. I thought Matt Palmer was class. So pleased to see him back in the team and his calmness allowed more domination and speed to be used by Dan Crowley and David McGoldrick, who asked questions, made themselves available and ultimately used the ball to punish Bromley. We need to avoid getting carried away. It’s hard work and quality that has taken us to the top, but we need to be spot on if we are to remain there. I am delighted to see us go top. It must feel like a dream for Stuart Maynard. His decisions leading into the second half were spot on!
  17. They have defensive issues. They conceded 3 at home yesterday. They had a 1-0 lead until a minute later when Colchester scored and further pulled it back going 3-1. Two 90+ minute goals salvaged a point. It’s not the best form, but scoring isn’t the issue.
  18. The start of his reign was poor, but anyone who believes it would have been different under Luke Williams is mistaken. I loved our time with Williams in charge of Notts. He spoke so well, but defensively he never had the solutions. I don’t want to sound like I outright blame Williams. I am just trying to make the case and point that I doubt he would have managed to change the downward fall in performances our players took. Also, I doubt defensively much would have changed now. Williams clearly got on well with certain players and I think he had a sentimental approach to retaining players and who played. Stuart Maynard deserves much of the praise for where we are now. I don’t see why anyone would have doubts. The squad hasn’t just turned it around. Neither is it solely down to the club’s recruitment. I hope more come on board and get behind Maynard. He’s working hard and the lads seem just as fired up now as they ever did under Williams. Look, both coaches are good in their own right. Williams will be forever remembered as the man who restored our club’s pride and gave us an amazing season and a decent return to the EFL. But it’s Maynard’s time now. If you want the club to succeed and get back up the leagues, support him like you would the club. Keep the negative thoughts to a minimum until it’s valid. It never was last season, because the issue needed time and new players to turn around. We are seeing that now, I feel.

  22. Notts County showed tremendous character coming back from a two-goal deficit. Stuart Maynard hinted at the challenging pitch conditions, yet the team adapted beautifully. Jodi Jones stepping up for crucial goals and Dan Crowley’s vital contribution were key moments. The defensive unit also deserves a shoutout for keeping Bromley at bay after our equaliser. Four consecutive wins and unbeaten – this is the stuff champions are made of. Can’t wait to see how we tackle Gillingham next. Keep flying high, Notts.
  23. Couldn't agree more with Jodi’s perspective. It’s not just about a strong start but maintaining form throughout the season. His goal to score more while assisting is exactly what we need. The right wing does seem like his natural habitat, and I'm thrilled he’s back in his favourite spot. The new signings definitely give us an edge, and it’s promising to hear Jones is optimistic about the squad's strength. His professional approach during contract negotiations shows his commitment. If he’s focused, creative, and scoring, there’s a good chance we’ll see promotion this season. Exciting times ahead for Notts.

  25. Not only is he a superb player who puts in magical performances and is entertaining to watch, but Jodi Jones also has a great attitude. What a figure to have at Notts County! It’s important to challenge yourself, and that drive is admirable. However, I do think he might be a little critical of himself. He’s been amazing since joining us. He was a player who shined against us with the Sky Blues. I am thankful he has committed and hope to see him score many more goals for us.
