  1. Audel is fine for a side in lower L2 but not for a side with ambitions of promotion. Maybe a useful reserve but not a starter.
  2. Neil Mellor was at the match for Sky Sports HQ. The ground staff made an appearance as well. Sky were impressed that they managed to get the water off the surface.
  3. Will take a point. Dropped another place in the table but York lost.
  4. Luckily Wycombe aren't exactly prolific. 1-1 draw me thinks.
  5. Ouch. MC has a lot of work ahead of him. York gained a point on us. As did Stevenage. Hartlepool gained 3 on us. We need a result on Monday.
  6. Thinking about it, how many of us saw this as a battle of title contenders when the season kicked off? Both sides have underwhelmed, especially Notts. At least Pompey have a shot at promotion. Pompey are actually better away from home so there's plenty of hope for Notts in this one.
  7. I think it is too early for MC to put his stamp on the team. 2-1 to Pompey. Better days ahead for Notts.
  8. Wonder how JF will spin this humiliation. No doubt he'll focus on the fact that we scored, ignoring the 4 Notts's conceded. We are so lucky that Dagenham & York are woeful.
  9. 0-0 I reckon. That is all.....
  10. Woeful. Inept. Shocking. Take your pick. Notts are one of the worst sides in the league on current form.
  11. The downward spiral to continue. 0-3. Fans up in arms. JF making excuses and maybe another impromptu owners meet the fans......and all hell breaks loose.
  12. Deary me.......that is all.....
  13. Dagenham are last but have conceded only 3 more goals than Notts. That shows how bad Notts have been defensively........We have scored 14 more goals than them......we have won 7 more wins than them......we have 19 more points than them.......if we aren't odds on favorites at the bookies, then I'll be shocked.....
  14. Dagenham are a lower half Conference side who happen to be in L2. If Notts can't beat them at home, I'd be very worried indeed.
  15. JF does better away from home. Game went pretty much as expected.
  16. It's roughly 253 miles from Nottingham to Plymouth. One of our longest away trips of the season. Plymouth are second in the table. They have 61 points (22 points more than Notts). They have scored 47 goals (1 more than Notts). They have conceded 27 goals (27 less than Notts). Plymouth's success is built on a strong defence as can be seen from the stats. Their attack isn't fantastic, but gets the job done and that's proved to be good enough so far. Plymouth have won 1, drawn 3 and lost 1 of their last 5. Plymouth use a 4-2-3-1 formation. Their back 5 is rock solid as already mentioned. The main threat in midfield is Graham Carey. He is quality at this level. Our old friend Jake Jervis could start on the wing. Ryan Brunt is starting ahead of Reuben Reid up front which may surprise a few people, but he is dangerous and needs watching. Reid will make an appearance at some point and Plymouth could go to 2 up front. This is going to be a tough game but IMO Notts won't be battered. I think we'll put it up to them. It has the makings of a tight game. I'll go for 1-0 to the home side, but I won't be too surprised if Notts get something out of the game.
  17. Strange game. Looked like a patched up Stanley were going to batter us. A couple of subs and all of a sudden it looked like a draw or even a win was on the cards. Disappointing for sure. JF is in a tough spot right now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sacrificed to sooth the fans growing anger. Madness?. Absolutely. But this is Notts......
  18. Stanley have injuries and suspensions. Down to the bare bones. You'd be tempted by those odds on Notts given the away form. Plus there's less pressure away from home.
  19. With the Zika virus and the water quality, this could be the worst Olympic games for a very long time.
  20. Notts drew the short straw this season. 2 of the toughest games are Stanley and Hartlepool away in February on a Tuesday night. Better than December or January though so that's something I guess. This is another of Nott's games in hand. Stanley are absolutely flying this season. Instead of being the relegation candidate many thought, they are pushing for automatic promotion. A win against Notts and they will be level on points with Oxford who are 3rd. They are 4th in the table with 52 points (13 more than Notts). They have scored 50 goals (6 more than Notts) and conceded 34 goals (a whopping 17 less than Notts). It's easy to see why Stanley are challenging for promotion and Notts aren't. Stanley have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 of their last 5 games. They have beaten Bristol Rovers, Crawley and Oxford. They drew with and lost to Carlisle. Stanley are an exciting team to watch. They play a 4-4-1-1 formation. They mix pace and power with 100% commitment. Notts could learn a lot from them. Stanley have a few suspensions for tomorrow night, I think it is 4, but I'm not certain. They haven't put up a match preview yet so we will know for sure once they do. Josh Windass who was flying for them is injured and has been for a while. They have a few players in form. Sean McConville on the wing is playing very well and Billy Kee is playing well up front. Stanley's strength is that they have threats throughout the team. They have no big names but play as a team. This will be a difficult game for Notts but the away record is strong since JF took over. Suspensions might hurt Stanley. Notts do need to improve on Saturday's display but they have shown that they are capable of bouncing back after a disappointing loss so there's reason to be hopeful. The club as a whole needs a lift after Saturday, not just what happened on the pitch, but the ugly scenes off it. Here's hoping we get it. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Heart over head? Absolutely, but we need a lift....a big one.....
  21. Mackenzie is rusty. He'll improve but might be gone back to Donny just as he's settling in. Banton will either be a real find or not give a damn. Time will tell.
  22. 2 questions. Why change a back 4 that kept clean sheets in successive away games? Why start Banton who is lacking match fitness? This will inevitably lead to questions about who really picks the team. I sincerely hope JF is allowed to do the job without interference. It's the least he should expect.
  23. JF has a tough enough job without more pressure being lumped onto him. Let him be. Let him settle in. Let him find his feet. I'm not his biggest fan, but he has to be given a chance.
  24. Luke James is on loan at Hartlepool.
  25. Is it true actual Vikings were still roaming England in your youth?
