  1. I thought this game was off. It's hard to know how it will go. Avoiding defeat would be enough given the circumstances.
  2. I think this will be postponed because of COVID. Call me Mystic Meg ????
  3. You'd hope COVID hasn't or won't effect the team's preparation for this game. Kings Lynn haven't had the best of starts. 1 win in 5 games. 6 goals for, 14 against. They are a hard working side but they are very weak at the back. They give up a pile of chances and Notts have the forwards to exploit that. We are leaking goals which is a worry so I'll go for 3-2 to Notts.
  4. 3-2 down at home to Maidenhead. The build up was severely disrupted but that team should be good enough to get at least a draw. Still time.....
  5. Jimmy Knowles opens the scoring. Maidenhead just levelled it. Didn't expect that. Anything less than a win would be disappointing.
  6. Maidenhead will do well to stay up. They lost their first 3 games before beating Wrexham 1-0 last Monday. They have scored 3 goals and conceded 10. I can't see them causing Notts any problems. 4-0 to Notts.
  7. Fantastic win. Overcame the conditions and a decent side tonight. Clean sheet as well.
  8. Thomas is a big loss. Doesn't seem to be much of a cutting edge. Notts away are a world away from Notts at home.
  9. No Roberts. That's a big blow.
  10. This is a real test for Notts. Sutton are unbeaten so their confidence will be high. They have scored 6 and conceded 1 in their first 3 games, including a 3-0 win over the worst team in the league, Maidenhead, a decent win at Aldershot and a good win at Weymouth. I expect all 3 of those sides to be battling relegation so it's hard to know how good Sutton are. We drew 1-1 home and away against them last season. The big question is how will NA approach the game. I hope it's not a repeat of Dover because Sutton are better than Dover and they will punish us. If Notts take the game to Sutton, I think we'll get at least a point. I'll go for 2-1 to Notts.
  11. Happy with the response to Barnet's 2nd. Oh there's a 4th goal. Doyle seals the deal. Job done. We do need to keep it tighter at the back.
  12. Notts making us sweat! 3-2 now. Notts need to put their foot back on the pedal. Close the game out.
  13. Barnet are a poor side. Notts putting in a professional performance, dispatching them with ease. 6 or 7 would be nice!
  14. Barnet were destroyed 5-1 at home by Eastleigh. They beat Dagenham 2-1 away, but Dagenham will be fighting relegation I reckon. Notts are better than Eastleigh IMO so I'd expect Notts to win. 3-1 to the Pies.
  15. I'm happy. Good performance and 3 points in the bag. Onto Saturday we go.
  16. That Daniel Mooney looks like a decent player. One to keep an eye on.
  17. The start we all wanted. Notts need to push on and get a second. Don't give them any encouragement or way back into the game. That's more like it. 2 goals for Wootton. This has the makings of a very good night indeed.
  18. Here's a summary: Promoted to the Football League: Barrow & Harrogate Relegated to the National League: Macclesfield (Looks like they are going to be wound up but won't be replaced) Promoted to the National League: King's Lynn, Altrincham, Weymouth and Wealdstone Relegated from the National League: Ebbsfleet, Chorley, AFC Fylde The reason 4 were promoted and 3 were relegated is down to Bury's expulsion from the League. However it will be an odd number of teams again as Macclesfield will be thrown out.
  19. One thing we can be sure of, NA won't be able to use the grass/surface as an excuse! Our visitors are up and running after a 0-0 draw at home to Weymouth. The conditions were awful so I don't think much was learned about our opponents. They won the NL North Playoff beating Chester, York and Boston. They averaged almost 2 goals a game, but conceded 40 in 33 games. This is a game Notts should be winning if we want to go up. NA needs to take the game to them and not be as cautious as Saturday. This game is made for Enzio. Unleash him from the start. I know he's hit and miss but he's an incredible talent at this level.
  20. I turned on the news this morning and there were Spanish police beating people protesting about what they see as discrimination in the new lockdown measures. There's no denying that the poorer neigbourhoods are suffering most and the Government response is to beat them. When you have to beat citizens into submission, you on a downward spiral. https://www.euronews.com/2020/09/24/working-class-neighbourhoods-hit-hard-by-madrid-lockdown
  21. Did anyone pick up a copy of The Mag? It's excellent. A bit of bed time reading.
  22. It went as I thought it would do. Notts showed their superiority over an average Barnet side. Harrogate were brilliant yesterday, they dominated a decent Boreham Wood side. I think the final could be a game we remember for a long time. It has the potential to be an epic encounter. I think Notts will win. Weymouth Pie will be delighted. Weymouth are in the Southern Final as well.
  23. I watched Lawrie Dudfield at Cork City. You couldn't fault his application. Gave 100% and scored some important goals for the club. He played in the UEFA Cup qualifying rounds and helped the club win the Setanta Cup. He set up the winning goal in the final, even if it was a mishit shot!
  24. This is a game Notts would be expected to win and I think they will. The attitude is right. The team is in a good place. Confidence is high.
  25. An important win. Moves Notts into the top 3, top 3 means Notts avoid the first round of the playoffs which means only having to win 2 games to gain promotion. Also Notts are guaranteed a home tie if they finish 2nd or 3rd. That's a huge advantage.
