  1. A sobering start on our return to League 2. Sutton exposed County at the back. I think LW will have to change formation, we'll be crucified most games if we stick with the current formation. Lots of hard work ahead for LW and the players. David McGoldrick will score 20 plus goals if he stays fit.
  2. Sutton finished 14th last season. They lost some of their better players in the off season and they haven't looked good in pre season. They lost to Woking and Aldershot and didn't score a goal in either game. County are in a better place than Sutton. I fancy Notts to win this. 2-0.
  3. My cousin supports Barnet so I'll be keeping an eye on the NL. I hope Kidderminster do well.
  4. Saturday was the first time I've seen Aaron live. He gave a masterclass in wing play. My friend was telling his son to copy what Aaron does next time he has a game. I'm looking forward to seeing what Aaron can do in L2 next season.
  5. What a day. I'm shattered physically and emotionally but I'm happy. To witness that game in person will stay with me forever. I also got a photo with my favourite director, Shane Meadows, Shane was as excited as I was! He was happy to come and say hello and chat for a few minutes.
  6. What a roller coaster of emotion. 2 down at half time. Instant response. McDonnell saves a penalty. Baldwin rescues it at the death. 2 tired teams. Nemane makes a crucial clearance and right at the end, Jones wins it. Incredible. See ye at Wembley. I took advantage of the early bird offer, best decision I have made in a while!
  7. https://www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk/uncategorized/welcome-joe-mcdonnell/ I can imagine bow this conversation went. BW: We need an emergency goalkeeper. National League: Of course. Ask Wrexham for Ben Foster. We want you to have the best to beat Notts County. We need to keep them in the NL. BW: How about Joe McConnell? He's arguably the best keeper in the league. NL: Approved. We'll have a word with the officials as well. Something tells us ye are going to be celebrating Sunday afternoon......
  8. Boreham Wood are difficult to play against. The officials are going to play a key part. If they stop Boreham Wood engaging in the dark arts, Notts will be half way to victory. Notts County are the better side but this a cup tie. Sunday can't come quickly enough.
  9. Maidstone are a poor side. It could have been 8-2. Notts have got to stop conceding sloppy goals.
  10. After watching the Wrexham goals again, Notts have to improve defensively. Those sort of defensive gaps would be fatal on a big pitch like Wembley.
  11. It's was a poor first half but the 2nd half more than made up for it. We need a miracle now but given how this season has gone, I wouldn't rule it out. Sky Sports are showing the goals from the game. When was the last time a NL game had such coverage?
  12. All the pressure is on Wrexham now.
  13. Happy with that. Back on top. Puts the pressure back on Wrexham.
  14. Great performance by the Pies. Scunthorpe are a very poor side but you can only beat what is in front of you.
  15. Scunthorpe have won once away from home this season. They are in a relegation battle and will do well to stay up. Notts won 4-1 at Scunthorpe in December. Everything points to a home win but we will be changing keepers and there may be absences due to injury. This is a real test for LW.
  16. Advantage Wrexham again. It feels like Notts are holding on by their fingernails in the title chase.
  17. I think I can predict how this will go. Barnet will press high and will take the lead. Barnet will tire and Notts will score 3. The end.
  18. A vital 3 points. I'd prefer if Notts didn't give the opposition a goal start. It's not good for my blood pressure.....
  19. Eastleigh fully deserved their lead. County have improved since Eastleigh scored. Eastleigh will most likely be in the playoffs so we can see how difficult it's going to be.
  20. Fun fact, the last time more than 1 goal was scored in a game involving Eastleigh was Feb. 21st. A total of 5 games. Eastleigh are a difficult side to beat but Notts won 2-0 at their place in November. I think it will be a very close game. 1-0 to Notts is my prediction.
  21. Dorking came to play. They deserved their lead but County responded and fully deserved the win.
  22. This game has me worried. Dorking went toe to toe with Notts in September and won. It should be a different story at ML but if Dorking adopt the same approach, I think they will create chances and our defence is creaking a bit. It's a must win game for Notts. I'd take any kind of win. Longstaff scoring with his arse in the 99th minute to win the game is fine by me.....
  23. Take a bow Tiernan Brooks. His penalty save has kept County in the title chase. Bromley should have been out of sight by half time. County got a foot hold in the 2nd half and just about deserved a draw. It wasn't a great performance to be fair.
  24. Aldershot away is one of those you'd be concerned about, even more so when it is a January fixture, but Notts got the job done in a professional manner. We can't worry about anyone else, just need to keep picking up points.
  25. A point away from home is a good result but you can't help thinking that it should have been 3. On to the next game.
