Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Whites (A)
You couldn't play football on that excuse for a pitch. Ref was right to call it off.

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Whites (A)
This season's version of Dover is possibly the worst team to ever play in the NL. They have played 22 games and have yet to win a game. They are sat on -8 points, 46 points behind Notts and have played 2 games more than Notts. They are going down, the only question is whether they will actually get to plus points or even win a game. There are no excuses for not beating Dover. 3 points is the absolute minimum.

Match Discussion: Game 22 - Red Dragons (H)
That was fun! Didn't start well but took full advantage after they went down to 10. Keeps the pressure on Chesterfield and puts those nouveau rich Wellington wearers from Wales in their place ????

Match Discussion: Game 22 - Red Dragons (H)
Notts have COVID cases. Game should be postponed. Others have taken advantage, it would be extremely naive if Notts didn't as well.
-
Match Discussion: Game 21 - The Linnets (A)
Kings Lynn are a poor side. 2nd last is about as good as it will get for them. Anything other than a win would be very disappointing.
-
Match Discussion: Game 20 - The Shrimpers (H)
Notts got there in the end. Southend are a poor side. They will be relegated again if they don't improve. That Chesterfield game in 2 weeks is massive. We can't lose it.

Match Discussion: Game 20 - The Shrimpers (H)
Southend are not in a good place on or off the pitch. They are under a transfer embargo because they owe money to the tax man. They drew 1-1 at home to Maidenhead last night. They would have been expected to win that. They are in the relegation zone on goal difference at the moment. Notts are strong at home. 20 points from 27. Southend are not good away from home. 7 points from 27 points is pretty poor. It's hard to see anything but a Notts win. 2-0 to Notts I reckon.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - Daggers (H)
Notts got the job done. That's 20 points from 27 at home. That's pretty impressive. Slocombe could be faulted for their goal but more than made up for it with a few vital saves. Onwards and upwards!

Match Discussion: Game 18 - Daggers (H)
Dagenham have lost their last 2 games. They lost to Yeovil and Eastleigh and didn't score a goal in either game. They lost both 1-0. They would have expected to win both of those games. A trip to Meadow Lane isn't exactly the game you'd want after losing your last 2. Nott's home form is quite good. 17 points from 24 so far. Dagenham have picked up 12 from 24 on their travels. It will be a tough game for Notts but I think we will win this one. We are a different team at ML and will be fully tuned in as Dagenham are a side not to be underestimated.

Match Discussion: Game 17 - The Wood (A)
You just knew Notts wouldn't lose this one. When Notts 100% apply themselves, they are a match for any side. They just don't do it for every side. That needs to be addressed or we won't be promoted.

Match Discussion: Game 17 - The Wood (A)
There are 3 teams that you wouldn't want to face coming off a poor performance in your previous game and as luck would have, Notts are playing one of those sides. Boreham Wood are flying. They score goals. They don't leave in many. The most important thing is that they are consistent. They have lost 2 games all season. It's close between them and Chesterfield, but I think Boreham Wood are the best side in the division. If Notts play like they did against Eastleigh, they will be beaten, but we know they won't because they will take Boreham Wood seriously. They will be 100% focused. That's the difference between Boreham Wood and Notts, Boreham Wood take every opponent seriously, whether it's Dover or Chesterfield. Notts are not doing that and that's why we are 6th and Boreham Wood are 2nd. As the approach will be 100% better than last Saturday, I think it will end in a 1-1 draw.

Match Discussion: Game 16 - The Spitfires (A)
Eastleigh seem to keep their best performances for when they play us! Lost ground on top spot as well.
-
Match Discussion: Game 16 - The Spitfires (A)
It's hard to figure out where Eastleigh are at this point in the season. They finished 9th last season, they are in 15th place at the moment, 8 points off the last playoff place. They played Chesterfield away recently and made it very difficult for them in a 1-0 loss. I think they will make things difficult for Notts but if Notts play as well as they have been recently, I think Notts will leave with 3 points. A hard fought 1-0 win for me.

Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
Rochdale came to play. It was a proper game of football. Notts were unlucky. It could have gone either way.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
I think Notts are playing the better football right now. Based on form, I think Notts will go through. It would be nice to have Plymouth or Wednesday at the Lane. Plus it will be on telly.
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Moors (H)
We must get out of this league before we become part of the furniture ????
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Moors (H)
Deserved victory against a decent side. Up to 4th.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (A)
Plymouth fans are angry with you ???? They drew at Wednesday so it's a replay at Home Park. I think Plymouth will win the replay but would prefer Wednesday because they would bring a big crowd to the Lane.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (A)
Great result. It's an extra game that we could do without but there's a good chance of making the 2nd round. I wonder if the replay will be on the telly?
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (A)
Rochdale are unbeaten in 4 in the league so it's a battle between 2 in form sides. Will both teams go with their usual lineups or will there be changes? I think Rochdale will make a few changes to their side but not many after Bolton crushed them in the Football League Trophy on Tuesday. I can see Notts making a few changes. The league is the important thing. A cup run would be nice but we'll save that for the FA Trophy.

Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Mariners (A)
It was important that we didn't lose that game. 3 points is the icing on the cake.

Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Mariners (A)
Ideally a trip to Grimsby would be on a sunny afternoon in August, instead it's a Saturday in October, which is better than a Tuesday night in January. Anyway, I digress. Grimsby are top of the table. They had a bad loss at Wealdstone on Tuesday, but they will be more than happy with their progress up to now. Notts probably should have beaten Bromley on Tuesday but had to settle for a point which wasn't too bad given the other results in the division. Grimsby are 7 points ahead of us, so it really is a 6 pointer. This will be one of our toughest games all season I reckon. I don't think Notts will lose. I'll go for 1-1.

Match Discussion: Game 13 - The Ravens (H)
Disappointing to draw after leading. Cheek is quality at this level. Would love to see him at Notts. We gained a point on Grimsby so that's a plus. The game against them next Saturday is massive. It's a must not lose game.
-
Match Discussion: Game 13 - The Ravens (H)
Notts struggle against physical, gritty sides. Guess what Bromley are? They have won 6 games in a row. They have beaten Torquay and Grimsby during that run. Grimsby have lost just one game all season so that win over Grimsby was impressive. Notts had a fantastic victory over Stockport and will be confident going into the game tonight. It should be exciting if nothing else. I think Notts will win 3-2.

Match Discussion: Game 12 - The Hatters (H)
That's what you call a statement of intent. Big win over a team that will be challenging for promotion, as will Notts if they keep getting results like this.
