  1. They are in real danger of going under. As Menzinho mentioned, the NL won't be much help. They are around since 1920 I think and they punched above their weight in their time in the EFL.
  2. We aren't promotion contenders as it stands. We have lost key players in key positions. The club has a big month ahead. We need quality. Full stop.
  3. Bass is a big loss. It's going to be difficult to replace him. I just hope the club isn't sifting through the bargain bin of potential replacements. Quality needs to replace quality here. It's a pivotal position.
  4. We could be coming up against our old friend Mr. Mullin. Assuming he can pick himself off the floor.....if you know, you know!
  5. Barnet away is a relatively straight forward trip for me so that's one I'll be looking out for. I was thinking of Oldham away as well.
  6. My understanding is that a fellow Irishman was interviewed for the job and turned it down when he was told about the technical board. I doubt he was the only one.
  7. As Chris pointed out, I think the owners were surprised at the reaction to the appointment of MP. They shouldn't have been. Personally I'm more concerned about the set up than MP. It is a recipe for disaster. I feel MP has one hand behind his back. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians comes to mind. I hope I'm wrong....
  8. I presume the committee/group who are calling most of the shots will also be held to the same level of accountability as MP? You'd hope so. It feels like MP has one hand tied behind his back.....
  9. No disrespect to MP, but he couldn't have been our first, second, third or 4th choice. The head coach role at Notts is limited. I couldn't see a high profile coach taking the reigns. I wish MP all the luck in the world. He's going to need it.
  10. As you may know, we Irish are obsessed with the weather. I'm glad I'm not in the UK. Chances are I'd die 🀣 It's very humid where I live. Sweating after trimming the hedge and cutting the grass. I'd take my shirt off but the judge said I can't do that anymore 🀣🀣
  11. I go to Cobh Ramblers games in the League Of Ireland. It's a nice place to visit. Even better when the sun is shining.
  12. This signing is more about squad depth I reckon. A one year deal and an option for one year makes sense given that this will be a big step up for him.
  13. The only real question mark is fitness. Ollie ticks all of the other boxes. I'm happy!
  14. The limitations placed on the Head Coach role will shorten the list. Some coaches will want a larger degree of freedom. My 2 cents is that it will be a foreign coach as this approach is more European in nature.
  15. I like what Chris has done with the place. Seriously though, I'm very happy with the new format.
  16. You might be onto something there. He's a coach. He's available. He is from the area, well Stoke, but that isn't a million miles from Nottingham. As for his record, he got MK Dons into the playoffs but Crawley smashed them. As for Carlisle, he probably doesn't want to discuss that.....
  17. I think this signing confirms that we will be getting another coach. I'd much prefer a manager who picks his own players and has full control of how he wants to play. This experiment isn't going to end any time soon so we just have to suck it up. MD has potential. He did well under Mark Hughes. Hopefully we get the best out of him.
  18. I expect League 2 to be very even next season. A dozen teams pushing for promotion is likely at this stage. We know we are getting a coach and the appointment will be season defining. We need to replace Ditzy. That much is certain. You'd hope there will be other signings. If we stand still, we'll be lucky to finish mid table.
  19. I was at Cobh Rambers vs Treaty United in the League Of Ireland First Division last night. I bumped into Brian O Callaghan who's a coach for Treaty United. Brian spent one season at ML in 2005/2006. It wasn't a great season. We just about avoided relegation to the Conference. We had a chat about Notts County and how Brian was glad we were on the up. He's a nice bloke. He had a chat with the supporters and you can see why Treaty fans like him.
  20. I'm going to leave this one here. Ollie Pearce. Yes he's 29 but he's a proven goal scorer. He's out of contract at York next year. I think he's worth taking a chance on, especially if Jatta leaves.
  21. I wish SM all the best. He is a decent guy. He didn't deserve the personal abuse directed at him and his family. It was disgusting. We will get another coach and it will be rinse and repeat. I don't think the approach the owners are taking will work in League 2. We need an experienced manager who has the freedom to make the big decisions. As it will be another coach, he needs to have experience at this level and a strong support staff with minimal input from the owners.
  22. That's the very least we should expect. Let's be honest, once Matt Saunders left, things started to go downhill. SM needs experienced staff around him. Otherwise it will be rinse and repeat next season.
  23. To be fair, no one thinks we should win every game, that's just nonsense. This season was a golden opportunity to win promotion. We had the squad to match up against any side in the division. Too many times we were simply outmanaged or outcoached. The same tactics time and again. So if SM does stay, let's hope he'll learn to adapt and actually win games against the teams around us.
  24. A season that promised much but ended in disappointment. There was an air of inevitability well before the season ended. Teams had figured us out yet nothing really changed. We need a change and that starts with SM. We need a manager, not a coach. A manager who's not afraid to play his way, not the way the owners want to play.
  25. That was a poor display by the officials. They got the sending off wrong. There was at least one strong shout for a penalty. Jatta's reaction could land him in hot water. Notts played better than expected. Wimbledon defended brilliantly to be fair. They took their chance when they got it. It's not over yet but it's a massive mountain to climb. We can't put the ball in the net and we need at least 2 goals.
