  1. Roos doesn't inspire confidence. He's essentially Dracula, afraid of crosses. Seriously though, I'd hate to have a keeper like that behind me. You can't trust him. Hopefully another keeper is on the shopping list.
  2. Oluwo scored 6 goals in 36 games for Barnet last season. I was hoping he was on our radar but he signed for Salford. Showing what he is capable of today. Salford have improved hugely in a week. They aren't repeating the mistakes of last week......yet.......
  3. We have lost our last 3 against Salford by a combined score of 8-2. I watched the highlights of their game against Crewe. It was like Salford were at the start of their pre season or even still on holidays. They would need to up their level significantly just to avoid a battering on Saturday. I'm sure they will because it's us! There were encouraging signs against Newport. We are missing Jatta. No question. Too many missed chances. Jatta staying or going will define our season I feel. He'd be hard to replace. I think we'll win on Saturday. The end.
  4. I hope the Notts fan is OK. It looked like he was getting the best of care. Notts deserved to win that game. Jatta would have gobbled up at least 3 of the chances that came our way.
  5. Here in Ireland, the GAA club championship has begun. Notts first and then Dripsey vs Grenagh later this evening. It's on in Coachford which is 10 mins away. Hurling is my passion so I'm looking forward to this. I won't bore ye about the history of GAA at a local level, we'd be here all day 🤣
  6. Newport are a poor side. It wouldn't surprise me if they got relegated this season. You'd expect Notts to pick up 3 points and I think they will.
  7. Wrexham ultras are coming over to Ireland and teaming up with Bohs ultras. It's a regular occurrence across the country. They were trying to cause trouble in Cork where I live a few weeks back. Plenty of Welsh accents to be heard. They were intimidating locals in Derry on Friday night. They assaulted a 15 year kid who crossed their path. The leader of the Wrexham ultras is an MMA fighter. They come over here because they think Ireland is a soft touch and they are probably correct on that score but the PSNI sorted them out on Friday.
  8. An interesting signing. 33 years old. Played 40 games for Triestina who finished 16th in Serie C. Has played in England previously so that's a bonus. He has the experience but does he have the quality? We'll find out.
  9. It's pouring rain here. I'm watching the Ladies Gaelic Football semi finals. Tomorrow my county Cork will contest the All Ireland hurling final against Tipperary. It's an age old rivalry. I'm confident that Cork will win.
  10. First, I hope Lewis is getting all the support he requires. The FA are cracking down big time so I fear Lewis is facing a lengthy ban if found guilty. Going on previous cases, it will probably be 10 to 18 months. The hypocrisy of the FA is well discussed above but players know the rules.
  11. Luckily we won't face a better team than this in the league. Yes they were excellent but it was a friendly and some of their antics were questionable to say the least. Anyway we have a mountain of work ahead of us. We need at least 1 striker. A goal scorer. That would give us all a lift.
  12. I was curious. Fraser Hornby. Born in England. Played for Scotland at youth level. Valued at around 2m quid.
  13. I like it. Then again us Irish like most Green things! I might get it. I have the 150th anniversary shirt. It has the supporters names on it. Some of them are no longer with us so it has sentimental value. It's like they are there when I wear it.
  14. Barry has plenty of potential. He did well in his time in the League Of Ireland. His long throw is a serious weapon. He doesn't just launch and hope for the best. It's fairly accurate. It's a serious weapon to have in our locker. He has plenty of pace and bombs forward but I don't think he enjoys the defensive duties much! Wing back probably suits him best.
  15. They are in real danger of going under. As Menzinho mentioned, the NL won't be much help. They are around since 1920 I think and they punched above their weight in their time in the EFL.
  16. We aren't promotion contenders as it stands. We have lost key players in key positions. The club has a big month ahead. We need quality. Full stop.
  17. Bass is a big loss. It's going to be difficult to replace him. I just hope the club isn't sifting through the bargain bin of potential replacements. Quality needs to replace quality here. It's a pivotal position.
  18. We could be coming up against our old friend Mr. Mullin. Assuming he can pick himself off the floor.....if you know, you know!
  19. Barnet away is a relatively straight forward trip for me so that's one I'll be looking out for. I was thinking of Oldham away as well.
  20. My understanding is that a fellow Irishman was interviewed for the job and turned it down when he was told about the technical board. I doubt he was the only one.
  21. As Chris pointed out, I think the owners were surprised at the reaction to the appointment of MP. They shouldn't have been. Personally I'm more concerned about the set up than MP. It is a recipe for disaster. I feel MP has one hand behind his back. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians comes to mind. I hope I'm wrong....
  22. I presume the committee/group who are calling most of the shots will also be held to the same level of accountability as MP? You'd hope so. It feels like MP has one hand tied behind his back.....
  23. No disrespect to MP, but he couldn't have been our first, second, third or 4th choice. The head coach role at Notts is limited. I couldn't see a high profile coach taking the reigns. I wish MP all the luck in the world. He's going to need it.
  24. As you may know, we Irish are obsessed with the weather. I'm glad I'm not in the UK. Chances are I'd die 🤣 It's very humid where I live. Sweating after trimming the hedge and cutting the grass. I'd take my shirt off but the judge said I can't do that anymore 🤣🤣
  25. I go to Cobh Ramblers games in the League Of Ireland. It's a nice place to visit. Even better when the sun is shining.
