  1. Stockport 3 up at half time. A stroll in the park. Notts have been poor. Individual mistakes again.
  2. Stockport can win the league tomorrow night. I'd prefer if they didn't win the league win at ML, nothing against Stockport, they deserve to be champions but not on our watch please! It's a proper test for us. One we are more than capable of passing.
  3. Great goal by Nemane. 3 points on the road is not to sniffed at. It's just a pity we are out of playoff contention. It wouldn't have taken a whole lot to be in contention but that ship has sailed....
  4. Walsall ran into an in form Doncaster Rovers and came off second best on Tuesday. Walsall are a decent side. They took their chances when they beat us at ML in December. It will be a tough game. A point would be a good result. There's no reason why we can't go there and win. Jatta has to start. He has been an excellent addition.
  5. 2 projects that will serve us well in the future. The Nest is a great name. It shows that the brothers have a long term plan. All we need now is a fly on the wall documentary, I'm sure it hasn't been done before.......
  6. Metrics and stats have their place but sometimes you need to close the laptop and have a look at what's happening on the pitch. You can understand that they don't want to single out the defence but the world and its mother knows Notts can't defend. Just look at the goals against tally. Hypothetical points tallies aren't worth the spreadsheet they are written on, we are where we are in the league table because that's where our performances have left us. SM is here for the foreseeable future, the job is too big for him IMO, I hope he proves me wrong. This Summer could be huge for the club. We could lose 2 of the best players we have had in years.
  7. A well deserved victory against a side who were in form. Pity that's there's nothing left to play for. I suppose we can always laugh at Mansfield......
  8. Based on the statement issued by the board, SM is here to stay. It seems the computer says Yes ???? Seriously though, I understand the brother's use of metrics, it has served them well, but I would advise watching what's going on on the pitch as well......
  9. Harrogate are on a 5 match unbeaten run. They are 4 points off the playoffs. They hammered Gillingham 5-1 in their last game. Notts were much improved against MK Dons but there are still areas where things can be much better. I don't we are capable of defending so again we may as well go for it.
  10. I think you are spot on and I think they will stick with him for a good 3 months next season, regardless of results.
  11. I have no faith in Stuart Maynard. There I said it. If SM is in charge next season, we'll be rock bottom by October. The obvious choice to replace him doesn't have a job at the moment. Drum roll please......John Coleman. JC will whip the squad into shape. We'll be solid at the back and decent going forward. He'll have us challenging for promotion. We need to snap him up before someone else does. Sorry SM, you are a nice guy but completely out of your depth.
  12. 2-2 now. A point would be most welcome but 3 points would be better!
  13. You would expect a response from the players today. Friday was the low point of the season so far. MK Dons are pushing for automatic promotion but have been inconsistent of late. They lost their 2 previous away games. 1-0 to Grimsby. 5-0 to Stockport. The atmosphere today could turn toxic very quickly. You'd be hoping for an early goal and a positive atmosphere.
  14. Swindon can't defend crosses. Our best header of a ball sits on the bench for 77 minutes. Comes on, scores from a header. Taking off the most creative option we have. Mind boggling. Taxi for SM I'm afraid.
  15. 74% possession. Robertson hits the post with a back pass. Drinan couldn't believe his luck. We are a disaster at the moment. We need leadership.
  16. Swindon are on a 4 game winless streak. Luckily for them, their next game is against the side with the worst record in 2024! Seriously though, it's 2 teams desperate for a win. Notts are probably in a better place so I think we will be celebrating 3 points, if not, Monday will be interesting.....
  17. I try not to think too far ahead but I'm already worried about next season, especially if SM is in charge and Langstaff leaves. We could be staring down the barrel of relegation yet again. It's not an easy fix, but it isn't an impossible task. If the defence is sorted, we are half way there. It has to be the number 1 priority, goalkeeper included. I'd rather SM is let go at the end of the season so he has no input for next season. Harsh? Absolutely but we cannot go back to the NL. No way.
  18. Salford deserved their win but that first goal......not sure what Cameron thought he was doing, a half arsed effort at a tackle. 2 shots on target for Notts. Not enough to win a game.
  19. Our recent run and Salford's recent run are quite similar. Both clubs have picked up 4 points after a run of defeats. Jatta's form could be the difference here. Plenty of space to get crosses in and he's an out ball for the defence when needed. It would be nice to have something to play for rather than the season fizzling out. 2-1 win is my prediction.
  20. A last word on the pitch. When Jatta is celebrating his first goal, bits of the surface were flying around his ankles. You couldn't call it turf. It was more like clay. I doubt there's much drainage there. When I was in France visiting the WW1 battlefields, I picked up some soil. It was clay. Exactly like Bradford's surface. Maybe I'm too obsessed with soil but I put that down to being Irish, land and soil are engrained in our DNA.
  21. Fantastic result on an awful surface. Jatta is flying. He can score with his head or his feet. We have exceeded the 50 point mark. We were never going to go down, but 50 is a psychological point total more than anything. The playoffs are a possibility at this stage which is crazy given the bad run we were on.
  22. Bradford were awful against Mansfield and Mansfield weren't even in top gear. Either Bradford will come out fighting or they are completely demoralized. I think Notts will win 5-4.
  23. A point away from home is welcome but it just papers over the cracks really. Accrington had over 20 shots and if they had a decent finisher, they would have battered us. Sam was excellent again. Jatta showing how good he is. That was the highlight.
  24. Accrington lost 4 in a row before they won 2-1 at Swindon on Tuesday. John Coleman's departure is still being felt I reckon. It will be a while before they are back on an even keel. Notts cannot defend. This we know. Sam saved us from a battering on Tuesday. As mentioned above, we may as well go for it and try and score 2 or 3. We'll need at least 2 goals to get anything out of the game I think.
  25. It's not an easy decision by any means. Ideally we get to 50 points and then the pressure eases a little. The brothers were at the game last night. I hate to say it, but removing SM seems like the logical choice right now.
