  1. Denmark and Belgium is an absolute cracker. Danes took the lead. 2 bits of sheer class by Kevin De Bruyne has Belgium 2-1 ahead. He played a sublime ball to Thorgen Hazard for the first and buried a 20 yarder for the 2nd. Denmark deserve a draw. They keep on coming.
  2. I think Italy make teams look bad. They press you so high up the pitch and then pour forward. It's very difficult to play against. You have to play over them and then they just pick it off. They are going to be very difficult to beat.
  3. Italy just spanked Switzerland 3-0. They look very good indeed. Rock solid at the back. Quick and accurate in attack. They are a joy to watch.
  4. Ah Chris. He got 2 assists. I know you are a secret Bale fan
  5. Typical Turkey. Start getting ratty when they are losing. Some things never change. Wales defended brilliantly. Ben Davies was immense. Bale despite the penalty miss was brilliant. Dan James broke out superbly when Wales were under pressure. It was practically a home game for Turkey and they failed miserably. 2nd goal. Roberts. Wales are in the knock out stages.
  6. The Turkish number 10 has done nothing all game, yet he is still on the pitch. Players who have contributed have been subbed off. Crazy stuff.
  7. Piece of Bale brilliance, fouled in the box. Then he takes the worst penalty ever. Miles over the bar. Then he charges down the goalkeeper and almost scores.
  8. Wales have just taken the lead against Turkey. Bale to Ramsey. Goal. Ramsey has been brilliant. The humidity is cruel by all accounts. Decent game.
  9. I wonder if he had a wager on the first goal being an own goal.......
  10. Scotland responded well to going 2 down but a combination of bad finishing and bad luck has denied them a goal. Their tournament is as good as over. No way they beat England or Croatia.
  11. Scotland 2 down now. Fawlty Towers feel around the 2nd goal. Not sure why Marshall was that far out. McGinn and McTominay need to get themselves into the game. They have been poor.
  12. Scotland 1 down to Czechia at half time. They need a miracle given that they have to play England and Croatia. I don't know why they started Lyndon Dykes ahead of Che Adams. Adams is on now and Christie is off. 2 up front is the way to go but it might a bit late!
  13. Stockport have a decent squad and resources to improve it. It's bad news for us. I'd rather have seen the back of them.
  14. Have to admire what England did today. They are not flashy but they are efficient and that can win you a tournament. They do need to go for the jugular when they get ahead.
  15. England's game management has been superb. Modric is having to drop into his own half to pick up possession. Croatia haven't been great but a lot of that is down to England not allowing them to play.
  16. Sterling comes up big when it matters. England looked like they had run out of ideas. Phillips has been superb. Great run and pass for the goal.
  17. England dominant but no end product so far. Croatia are growing into the game. England need to give the ball to Foden and Sterling. They are both looking lively. And they need to stop Modric.
  18. Time to turn my attention to the Euros now that Notts are done for the season. I watched Wales vs Switzerland. Wales were lucky to draw in the end. Bale and Ramsey didn't turn up. Their keeper, Danny Ward, was superb, kept them in it. They need a big improvement to beat Turkey. It was frightening to see Christian Erikkson collapse on the pitch. Thankfully he's stable. Denmark decided to finish the game and perhaps it's no surprise that they lost 1-0 to Finland. They missed a penalty that Erikkson would have taken and probably have scored but some things are more important than football.
  19. We conceded 6 goals in 2 games. No way you win promotion conceding that amount of goals. Torquay are a decent side. They deserved their win, even if that penalty was dodgy to say the least. Notts kept going to the bitter end. Can't fault their effort.
  20. If we do go through today, we have to tighten up at the back. Stockport would eat us alive. We might get away with it to a certain extent against Hartlepool.
  21. He came over to play in the League Of Ireland. Did quite well. Played for my home town team, Cork City. No shortage of effort on his part.
  22. I wish I had a blood pressure monitor, it would be interesting to see the numbers!
  23. I'm expecting an absolute rollercoaster ride! I think it will rain goals. 4-3 AET to Notts is my prediction. Given Torquay's petulant behaviour, I expect them to have a temper tantrum on the pitch and their Mums will have to be called. Bold boys.
  24. Torquay 3 -4 Notts County AET Stockport 3-0 Hartlepool Our game has classic written all over it. There will be goals, goals and more goals I reckon. I think Stockport will cruise past Hartlepool.
  25. I like Bristol. It reminds me of Cork City (Ireland). Cork is the nearest city to me. Anyone looking for something to do will have plenty of choice. It's a historic city. I'd recommend a visit to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. It's incredible. It's probably easiest to get the bus in that direction and ask the drive to let you off at the nearest stop. That's what I did.
