  1. It wasn't pretty but it is 3 points against a promotion rival. Sometimes you have to dig out results and Notts did that today.
  2. Wimbledon should be pushing for promotion this season. They are a well organized side. The kind of side that does well at Meadow Lane. I sound like a broken record but we need to start beating the sides around us. I don't think we'll do that this weekend, an away win is my prediction.....
  3. Happy with a point as it was the least we deserved I reckon. Jatta proves his worth once again. McGoldrick saving the day but made us sweat for a second!
  4. This has the potential to be a cracking game and not just because of the rivalry. Chesterfield's issue is converting draws into wins. They have drawn 5 out of 10. They have scored 17 and conceded 10, but 4 of those have been in their last 2 games. I think this has draw written all over it. Notts cannot afford to lose this game. It's been a strong start to the season, but we have to start winning against the stronger sides.
  5. It's a wide open league this season. All the contenders are dropping points. It is concerning that Notts can't beat the teams around us. 2 defeats at home already.
  6. Darren Moore is one of those managers you want to do well but not tomorrow obviously. Port Vale are a consistent side and that is a big plus in League 2. I expect them to come to ML and play football. That should make for an exciting game tomorrow. Notts need to start winning games against sides that will push for promotion. I think that starts tomorrow. 2-1 to Notts.
  7. That's a game Notts would have lost 3-2 last season. Notts were superb in the first half. Carlisle dominated the 2nd half. Jatta's finish was sublime. A well worked team goal for the 2nd. A good night's work.
  8. I'm travelling over for this game. I'm combining it with a trip to see Carlisle Castle and Cathedral. If anyone here is going, let me know and I'll say hello. Carlisle have won 2 games and lost 6 so far. They are 3rd from bottom. They conceded 2 goals in the last 10 minutes and lost 3-2 at home to Grimsby. I watched a couple of highlights from their home games and they create and give up a fair amount of opportunities. Notts will exploit that so I'd imagine they'll tweak it a bit. I'm expecting goals. It could easily be a 7 goal thriller. 4-3 to Notts I reckon. And a Cumberland Sausage Roll for me. Mmmm.......
  9. We were lucky to escape with a point. The first half was poor. The second half was a bit better. Jodi and Jatta are massive losses. The pleasing part is that the team didn't let their heads drop. That's a good sign.
  10. Morecambe are on a 12 game winless streak in League football. I have watched a few of their highlights and there is no shortage of effort. The draw with Fleetwood was a great result given that they were 2 down and under severe pressure. Notts are unbeaten in the last 6 games against Morecambe. In our last 3 away games, we beat them once and drew twice. No Jodi and Jatta is a blow but we should have enough quality to win this game. A hard fought 2-1 win I reckon. The winner in the last 10 mins.
  11. A win and no injuries. We'll take that. I'd prefer knockout but the powers that be would rather the U21 sides get 3 games.
  12. This is a game we could do without. Play as many squad players as possible and no more injuries.
  13. Gillingham know how to defend and they take their chance when they get it. Losses you can get over but not the loss of key players. Here's hoping for some good news later.
  14. It's very nice of you Chris but I don't need anything.
  15. Gillingham have had 3 red cards already this season. They're not a dirty team so that is a bit surprising. Anyway they are a decent side, tipped by many to win the league. They lost at Doncaster, another favourite for promotion, and I think Notts will beat them as well.
  16. The most encouraging thing about that was the team and SM stuck to the plan and played their way into the game. 4 goals at Bromley is mighty impressive. Keeping them to 2 was important. Notts will always score goals and so it proved.
  17. Hello Bromley, our old friend, we've come to play you once again....... Our record against Bromley isn't very good. We've only beaten them once in 8 meetings. We've drawn 4 times. Bromley play a direct style of football. It hasn't changed much since we last played them. Notts are playing with confidence. Bromley will fancy their chances at home. It has the makings of an exciting game. I think Notts will win the game. 1-0 I reckon.
  18. 3 points and a clean sheet. Got to be happy with that. Accrington are a poor side. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up getting relegated.
  19. I think you can watch it on SKY+? It's every team live according to the ads. You go in and pick your team I think.....
  20. Accrington Stanley's away form is poor and that's being kind. They have lost 4-1 and 3-1. Given how Notts play at home, I'd imagine a pile of punters will have this down as a home win. It's hard to see anything but a home win. 4-1 to Notts.
  21. Below are the details of the court case. The facts speak for themselves. Footballer Jevani Brown fined for slapping woman outside Exeter nightclub - Devon Live WWW.GOOGLE.COM The former Exeter City star striker appeared in court today
  22. 3 points away from home? Yes please. Here you go. Job done.
  23. I'll pass on welcoming him. He's here and there's nothing we can do about that.
  24. It will be interesting to see how SM approaches this game. There was a more cautious approach away to Tranmere. It was more about not losing. Swindon are there for the taking. They aren't as poor as their results seem to indicate. They will improve IMO but it's a good time to play them. Notts need to press them. The one concern is crosses/set pieces. Swindon have the ability to punish us. That's an area that has to improve. I'm going for a 2-1 win.
  25. Sven was one of our own. He could have demanded his 5m but he waived it. That unselfish act should always be remembered. May Sven rest in peace.
