Match Discussion: Game 5 - Red Dragons (H)
Wrexham are one of the best sides in the division. 7 points from 12 so far. Their away record is not great, 1 draw and 1 defeat. Mark Harris is their danger man. 3 goals in 4 games. Bobby Grant is suspended. At least I think he is. Wrexham were going to appeal his red card, but he didn't play last Tuesday so chances are he won't be playing at ML which is a big boost for Notts. This is a huge game for Notts. It's a chance to send a statement of intent. Wrexham are missing 2 key players so it's a 2-1 home win for me.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - Sulphurites (A)
A badly needed win. The big bonus was a clean sheet away from home.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - Sulphurites (A)
Harrogate made the playoffs last year. They have 4 points out of 9. Lost 1-0 at Woking on Saturday. Jon Stead made an impact off the bench and was unlucky not to score. They are strong at home. I'll go for a 3-1 home win. Notts are all over the place at the moment. Harrogate are well organized. Stead to score against us.

Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Bees (H)
That was sobering. Barnet had a game plan and executed it. Notts looked lost and were making it up as they went along. Do Notts practice defending set pieces? You wouldn't think so based on the games up to now.
-
Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Bees (H)
Barnet are unbeaten. 1 win. 1 draw. They play good football, might suit Notts as they won't sit back. They are very dangerous on the counter so Notts have to keep control of the ball, not give it away with silly passes. I'll go for 1-1.
-
Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Hatters (H)
Meadow Lane should be a fortress. Team should fear coming here. Stockport figured out that there was a point for the taking with half an hour to go and went for it and got it. Notts need a target man big time. Upset the opposition. Drawing at home to Stockport is a bad result. No denying that.
-
Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Hatters (H)
Stockport played 4-5-1 at home to Maidenhead on Saturday. They lost 1-0. Don't be surprised if they play 4-6-0 against Notts! Notts will have to come out and attack, Stockport will sit back and hope to score from set pieces. The first goal will be crucial. I'll go for a hard fought 1-0 home win.

Match Discussion: Game 1 - The Spitfires (A)
Disappointing to lose another game to a goal from a set piece. Ben Turner should make a difference there. Notts need to get it down and play. Long balls will be eaten up at this level. Notts need to be more physical. Controlled aggression.

Match Discussion: Game 1 - The Spitfires (A)
Eastleigh are a decent side. Ben Williamson in midfield is one to watch out for. They lost their top goalscorer, Paul McCallum, over the Summer. He scored 26 goals in the league last season. Next highest scorer was Williamson with 7 so you can see what a loss McCallum is to them. Eastleigh will start on the front foot and try and blow Notts away. Notts need to stand up to that, I'd worry about the fact that the back 4 won't have played together before. My heart says Notts will win, but my head says home win, Notts will only get better as the season goes on, top 6 is a real possibility. With a bit of luck, Notts could be champions.

Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Boro (A)
Stevenage are the perfect example to show how average this league is. Don't get me wrong, what they have achieved so far is fantastic, but let's not kid ourselves either. Notts are a better side than Stevenage, that I'm certain of, away win for me.
-
Match Discussion: Game 34 - The Pilgrims (A)
Great win. League 2 this season is average at best, makes you realize what Notts could have achieved if AH had been here earlier. Next season.....

Match Discussion: Game 34 - The Pilgrims (A)
Plymouth is a tough place to go, even tougher on a Tuesday night. Notts are playing well so they will go there with confidence. Plymouth are a decent side but Notts shouldn't fear them. Hartlepool went there and won. I think it will be a lot tighter than expected. 2-1 to the home side I reckon.
-
Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Glovers (H)
Mixed feelings. A point is better than nothing but Notts should have picked up all 3. At least it keeps the run going which is important heading down to Plymouth tomorrow night.
-
Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Glovers (H)
I can't see any other result other than a home victory. 3-2 to Notts.
-
Match Discussion: Game 32 - The O's (A)
Great result. The only concern is the defence. Having to score at least 2 every game is asking a lot. Mind you it's never boring.....
-
Match Discussion: Game 32 - The O's (A)
Eden Hazard kicked a ball boy and got 3 games. Kelly had been harshly treated. One rule for the big boys....

Match Discussion: Game 32 - The O's (A)
Last night was Orient's first win in 2017 and what a win it was. They seem to have adopted a more physical approach which is what they needed as they were a soft touch up to now. Their main threat is Gavin Massey. 3 in 2 games. Michael Collins will make his presence known in midfield. In all honesty, I expect Orient to try and boot Notts off the pitch, it won't be pretty I reckon. We need to start picking up points on the road. I'd take a draw if it were offered right now.

Match Discussion: Game 31 - The Grecians (H)
That was the equivalent of a husband arriving home late on Valentines, but saving the day with a dozen red roses and a box of Belgian chocolates. Massive point given the circumstances.
-
Match Discussion: Game 31 - The Grecians (H)
Exeter were thumped 3-0 in their local derby at Plymouth which was a surprise as they hadn't been beaten since November. Their away form is excellent so coming to ML will hold no fears for them. They won 4-1 at ML back in March. Notts did win 2-0 at Exeter in September which is one of the highlights of the season so far. I can't call it so I'll sit on the fence and go for a 1-1 draw.
-
Match Discussion: Game 30 - The Robins (H)
Notts will win. I'm not basing that on anything solid, just a gut feeling. Should be a bumper crowd. 2-1. Ameobi with both goals.
-
Match Discussion: Game 28 - Red Devils (H)
Very important win for a number of reasons. Still in relegation trouble of course so plenty of work to do. Need to back this win up next week.
-
Match Discussion: Game 28 - Red Devils (H)
You have to win sometime and Crawley at home is one of those sometimes. 2-1 to the Pies. I don't even want to contemplate defeat...
-
Match Discussion: Game 27 - The Mariners (A)
Grimsby are doing quite well for themselves. One of the few highlights of this season was Notts coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in September. They have Omar Bogle who must rubbing his hands in glee at the thought of facing this defence again. They did suffer a bad 3-0 defeat at home to Exeter last Saturday but that seems to be just a blip. I can't see Notts getting anything from this game. 3-1 to Grimsby.
-
Match Discussion: Game 26 - The Stags (H)
Hard to see anything but an away victory which is depressing to be honest. I'll go with 3-1 to the Stags. Do Stags fans have to pay extra for parking given most arrive on tractors? I won't even mention the ones who arrive on horseback.....

Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Shrimps (A)
Could have been 6 or 7 if Morecambe had kept 11 men on the pitch. Drew the second half against 10 men. Woeful doesn't begin to describe it. This setup deserves the most defeats record. Their futility is amazing.
