  13. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 28th - 29th of march, several key games have been identified – None more important than the MK Dons against Doncaster game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. With both teams chasing a play off place, both teams will be hoping to get the three points this weekend while a win for MK Dons and results favouring them elsewhere could see them close the gap on 2nd place. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 28th March Bradford v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Bristol City v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Chesterfield v Walsall – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Crawley v Gillingham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) Leyton Orient v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) **MK Dons v Doncaster – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Notts County v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Peterborough v Coventry – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Rochdale v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Sheffield United v Crewe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Sunday 29th March Fleetwood v Preston – Kick Off 2:15pm – Score Prediction (1-3) My Stand-out Games MK Dons v Doncaster Bristol City v Barnsley Peterborough v Coventry MK Dons will be hoping to continue to try push for an automatic promotion spot with three points, while Doncaster will be hoping to close the gap back on the play off spots, after recent results have seen them drop down the table. Current results show MK Dons as slight favourites winning two of the last three matches while Doncaster have only won one of the last three matches. Bristol City will be hoping to continue their good form as they try to stay ten points clear of Preston in the race for the league title. Barnsley on the other hand will be hoping to re enter the play off places after drawing their last two games against Leyton Orient and Preston saw them over taken by Peterborough. Bristol City are overwhelming favourites not losing in their last seven matches, while Barnsley have stalled in their last two matches drawing both. Peterborough will be hoping a win could keep them in the play-offs after Barnsley drew last week against Preston. Coventry will be hoping to get back to winning ways after Doncaster ended a two game winning run. Wins against Chesterfield and Fleetwood defeat again along with results elsewhere going against them could see them drop into the bottom four. Current results show Peterborough strong favourites losing once in their last five matches and Coventry only winning two in their last five. Thoughts on Notts County vs. Scunthorpe United This weeks match sees Notts County against Scunthorpe. Notts County struggling to pick points up and Scunthorpe also struggling Notts County fans will be hoping for a new manager syndrome to kick in and improve our results. The current results between the two teams show Notts County as strong favourites winning four of the last seven meetings, Scunthorpe winning none and three draws. Scunthorpe have never beat Notts County at Meadow lane. The overall head to head record shows Notts County as favourites winning 14, Scunthorpe 4 and 4 draws. Notts County have picked up 11 out of 15 points from the last five meetings in the league. Notts County will be hoping to improve on recent results after the sacking of Shaun Derry while the change of manager normally sees a change in results, this is still a tough game to call though I've picked Notts County to just edge it.
  14. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 21st of March, several key games have been identified – None more important than the Crawley against Leyton Orient game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. With both teams only in the drop zone by 3 points, a win for either team could see them move out of the drop zone and a defeat for either side just makes their relegation problems worse. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 21st March Barnsley v Preston – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) *Bradford v Fleetwood – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Coventry v Doncaster – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) **Crawley v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Crewe v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Gillingham v Colchester – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) MK Dons v Notts County – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (3-1) *Peterborough v Chesterfield – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Rochdale v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Sheffield United v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) My Stand-out Games Crawley v Leyton Orient Bradford v Fleetwood Peterborough v Chesterfield Crawley will hope to continue their current run of form against Leyton orient, which could see them move out of the bottom four, while Leyton Orient will be hoping a win against Crawley could move them out of the bottom four aswell. The favourites are Crawley winning their last two matches against Colchester and Port Vale. Bradford will be hoping a win against Fleetwood could move them to within one point of the play off places, while Fleetwood will be hoping a win could move them into the play offs. The goal difference between them and Barnsley makes it unlikely. Current form shows Fleetwood just being the favourites, though Bradford haven't lost in the last three matches. Fleetwood lost to Coventry in mid week. Peterborough will be hoping a win could move them into the play offs, after missing their chance in mid week when they lost to Preston, which let clubs around them catch up like their opponents chesterfield. A win could also see them move into the play offs if Barnsley lose against Preston. Current form shows no difference between the two sides. Thoughts on MK Dons vs. Notts County This weeks match see’s Notts County against MK Dons. Notts County are struggling to pick points up and MK Dons struggling over the last five matches, it could give Notts County fans hope. The current results between the two teams show MK Dons as strong favourites winning five of the last seven meetings, Notts County winning none and two draws. Notts County have never beat MK Dons at the Mk Stadium. The overall head to head record shows MK Dons as favourites winning 13, Notts County 1 and 5 draws. Notts County have picked up 1 out of 15 points from the last five meetings in the league. Most people will be expecting MK Dons to win this match easily as Notts County continue to struggle with their form, though a recent drop in MK Dons form gives the smallest glimmer of hope for the Notts County fans, saying that I see us losing heavily.
  15. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 14th of March, several key games have been identified – None more important than the Leyton Orient against Yeovil game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. Leyton Orient against Yeovil is a key match in the relegation battle with all surrounding teams keeping a close eye on the outcome of the match, a must win for both teams. Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 14th March Bristol City v Gillingham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Chesterfield v Coventry – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Colchester v Crawley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Doncaster v Peterborough – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Fleetwood v Rochdale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) **Leyton Orient v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Notts County v Bradford – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Oldham v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) Port Vale v Swindon – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) Preston v Crewe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (3-0) Scunthorpe v Sheffield United – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Walsall v MK Dons – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) My Stand-out Games Leyton Orient v Yeovil Colchester v Crawley Notts County v Bradford Leyton Orient will be hoping to win, which could see them move out of the drop zone depending on results, elsewhere a loss could see them go bottom. Yeovil will be hoping to win and pick up another three points after a good victory last weekend against Oldham, three points today could move them off the bottom spot. Colchester will be hoping to win as the bottom four all play against each other and this is their best chance to move out of the drop zone. Crawley will be hoping to win as three point could move them out of the bottom four, though if they lose they could be bottom. Notts County will be hoping to win as a losing could see them within a couple of points off the bottom four. Their current form and lack of goal scorers doesn't help against a Bradford side having a good run in the cup again this year. Bradford will be hoping to win as it could see them move back into the play offs, they will be hoping to improve on their current league form which has seen them drop down the league recently. Thoughts on Notts County vs Bradford This weeks match sees Notts County against Bradford with both teams struggling to find consistent form, though saying that Bradford have the slightly better league form. The current results between the two teams show Notts County as slight favourites winning three of the last seven meetings with Bradford winning two and two draws. The last time Bradford beat Notts County at Meadow Lane was back in 2013 winning 0-1 after extra time in the league cup. The overall head to head record shows Notts County as favourites winning 26, Bradford 21 and 13 draws. Notts County have picked up 10 out of 15 points from the last five meetings in the league. A tough match to predict this week with both teams struggling for form in the league, it isn’t an easy match to call, saying that I think Bradford have been the better side this season so I see them just winning this match. 16. After Tuesday nights win over Colchester United, Pride of Nottingham returns with another preview into the League One fixtures played on the 7th of March. The form of many sides is vastly becoming important as teams prepare to bid for safety, whilst others are maintaining their play-off push and others aiming to secure a health position. MK Dons against Preston is an important game this week as MK Dons try to move back into 2nd place above their opponents Preston, while Preston will be hoping to pull away from MK Dons. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 7th March Barnsley v Walsall – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Coventry v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Crawley v Bristol City – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) *Crewe v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Gillingham v Doncaster – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) **MK Dons v Preston – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Peterborough v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Rochdale v Colchester – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Sheffield United v Fleetwood – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Swindon v Notts County – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (4-0) Yeovil v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) My Stand-out Games MK Dons v Preston Crewe v Scunthorpe Rochdale v Colchester MK Dons will be hoping to win, which would see them move back upto 2nd place while a win for Preston could see them move clear of their opponents today. Recent form shows Preston as favourites in this key match for automatic promotion, a win for Preston and results going their way elsewhere could see them have a two game advantage over their rivals, already having a game in hand. Crewe will be hoping to win as they try improve on recent form, a win could give them a cushion from the drop zone while yet another win could see them in serious danger. Scunthorpe on the other hand already have a nice cushion from the drop zone, but another win today could see them upto 10 points clear of the drop zone. Rochdale will be hoping to win and results go right elsewhere, which could put them within two points of the play offs while Colchester are in desperate need of three points after losing to Notts County in the week, which has seen them drop further into the relegation battle. Thoughts on Swindon vs. Notts County This weeks match sees Notts County against Swindon with both teams struggling to find consistent form, though saying that I think Swindon are easily the better team. I’ve predicted Swindon to win easy. The current results between the two teams show Notts County as slight favourites winning three of the last seven meetings with Swindon winning two and one draw. The last time Notts County beat Swindon at the County Ground was back in 2011 winning 1-2. The overall head to head record shows Swindon only just being favourites winning 23, Notts County 22 and 12 draws. Notts County have picked up 7 out of 15 points from the last five meetings in the league. Most people in all honesty would probably say this is an easy match to predict the winner. On paper Swindon are easily the better side, Their forms just better but of late its fairly bad picking only 4 points up from the last 15, while Notts County have only won two of their last five and looks even worse. When you look further back, only getting 10 points from a possible 30. I hate to say it and I have been positive the last few weeks, but I see us getting hammered. 17. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 3rd of March, there's a crucial game being played which our fans will be hoping to see positive news from – This important tie is between Colchester and of course Notts County, this game could see either side make steady progress in their bid for survival. Colchester against Notts County is a important game this week as Colchester try to move back out of the drop zone while Notts County are fighting to stay out of the drop zone. * Important Game – ** Key Game Tuesday 3rd March Sheffield United v Peterborough – Kick Off 7:30pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Barnsley v Coventry – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Bradford v Crawley – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (2-0) **Colchester v Notts County – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Fleetwood v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Leyton Orient v Bristol City – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (0-3) *MK Dons v Chesterfield – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Port Vale v Oldham – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (0-0) *Preston v Doncaster – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Rochdale v Crewe – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Swindon v Gillingham – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (3-1) Yeovil v Walsall – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (1-2) My Stand-out Games Colchester v Notts County MK Dons v Chesterfield Preston v Doncaster Colchester will be hoping to win as they fell into the drop zone on Saturday, a win against a struggling Notts County side, as results elsewhere favouring Colchester could move them back out of the drop zone. Notts County will be hoping to win today as loss could put them in the bottom four and if results elsewhere go against them. Notts County will be hoping to pick up their first points in four matches. MK Dons will be hoping to make up for Saturdays result against a struggling Coventry side with a win today against a Chesterfield side struggling to find their form from the first half of the season. Chesterfield will be hoping to add another 3 points after their win on Saturday against Fleetwood, their first win in four games. They will be hoping they can find there early season form to beat possibly the best side in the league in my eyes, only challenged by Bristol city. Preston will be hoping to continue their excellent form which has seen them unbeaten in February and become possible automatic promotion contenders. Doncaster will be hoping carry on from Saturday after beating Colchester, though in the previous two matches before they showed signs of their early season bad form losing against Bristol City and an average Port Vale side. Thoughts on Colchester vs Notts County This weeks match sees Notts County against Colchester with both teams struggling to find consistent form. I’ve predicted Notts County to just edge it. The current results between the two teams show Notts County as overwhelming favourites winning six of their last seven meetings. The last time Colchester beat Notts County at Meadow Lane was back in 2003 winning 2-3. The overall head to head record shows Notts County being slight favourites winning 19, Colchester 14 and 7 draws. Notts County have picked up 15 out of 15 points from the last five meetings in the league. A tough match to predict but I’ve predicted 1-0 to Notts County. 18. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 28th of February, several key games have been identified – None more important than the Peterborough against Bradford game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. Peterborough against Bradford is an important game this week as Bradford try to stay in the play off spots and Peterborough will be hoping to improve on recent form and move away from the drop zone. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 28th February Bristol City v Rochdale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) *Chesterfield v Fleetwood – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Coventry v MK Dons – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Crawley v Sheffield United – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-3) Crewe v Swindon - Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) Doncaster v Colchester – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (3-0) Gillingham v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Notts County v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Oldham v Preston – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) **Peterborough v Bradford – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) *Scunthorpe v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Walsall v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) My Stand-out Games Peterborough v Bradford Chesterfield v Fleetwood Scunthorpe v Yeovil Peterborough will be hoping to improve on their recent form which has seen them drop to within eight points of the drop zone after only picking one win up in their last five matches. Bradford on the other hand will be hoping to continue there recent good form which has seen them move into the play off places having not lost in their last five league games. Chesterfield will be hoping to pick up three points against Fleetwood as they try to move back up the table, they want to get their first points in four games which has seen them drop from the play offs. Fleetwood will hope to continue their winning form after a hard fought three points last weekend against Notts County which moved them back upto eighth place, just one point off the play offs. Scunthorpe will be hoping to go back to winning ways this weekend after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of promotion chasing Preston, which ended Scunthorpe’s two game winning streak. Yeovil will be hoping to pick up their first three points this weekend after only picking up one point in their last three matches, which has seen them move back to bottom of the table. Thoughts on Notts County vs Port Vale This weeks match see’s Notts county against Port Vale with both teams struggling for form, I’ve predicted Notts county to just edge it. The current results between the two teams show Notts County as slight favourites, winning five of the last seven meetings. The last time Port Vale beat Notts County at Meadow Lane was back in 2004 winning 1-2. The overall head to head record shows Notts County being slight favourites winning 41, Port Vale 35 and 19 draws. Notts County have picked up 9 out of 15 points from the last five meetings In the league. A tough match to predict but I’ve predicted 1-0 to Notts County. 19. Once again PoN looks to the weekend fixtures in another League One preview. This weeks main game comes in the form of the MK Dons v Peterborough United game, the Don's are fighting for an automatic promotion place, whilst Peterborough United are showing contention for a play-off place provided they can keep up their current form which has seen them move for the middle of League One. MK Dons against Peterborough is an important game this week as MK Dons try to overtake Swindon for 2nd spot again while Peterborough will be hoping to gain points on 6th place Oldham. * Important Game – **Key Game Saturday 21st February Barnsley v Crewe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Bradford v Walsall – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Colchester v Bristol City – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) Fleetwood v Notts County – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Leyton Orient v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) **MK Dons v Peterborough – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Port Vale v Doncaster – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Preston v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Rochdale v Chesterfield – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) Sheffield United v Coventry – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (3-0) Swindon v Crawley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) *Yeovil v Gillingham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) My Stand-out Games MK Dons v Peterborough Bradford v Walsall Yeovil v Gillingham MK Dons will be hoping to win against Peterborough and that Swindon drop points against Crawley so they can re enter the automatic promotion places. Peterborough on the other hand will be hoping for a win and teams like Oldham, Chesterfield and Doncaster drop points so they can enter the play-off spots. Bradford will be hoping to win against Walsall and enter the play-off places. They need Chesterfield, Doncaster and Oldham to drop points, but with two games in hand over certain teams this is their chance to win and take advantage. Walsall will be hoping to win against Bradford and hoping surrounding teams drop points as they try and improve on last weeks result, which saw them drop down the league. Yeovil will be hoping to win against Gillingham as they try to close the gap on the teams hovering above the drop zone. Gillingham on the other hand will be hoping to continue their recent good form which saw them beat MK Dons last weekend and continue to gain on the play-offs. Thoughts on Fleetwood vs Notts County This week match sees Fleetwood against Notts County, a match that could go either way but I think will end in a draw. The current results between the two teams show that it could go both ways having one win a piece. The last time they played Fleetwood won 1-0 at Meadow Lane. The overall head to head record shows that both teams have won a game each. Notts County last beat Fleetwood in the league cup back in 2013, winning 3-2 at Meadow Lane. Notts County have picked up 0 out of 3 points from the only meeting In the league. A tough match to predict but I’ve predicted 1-1. Match Thread - PoN's Live Centre - Stat Attack
  20. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 14th of February, several key games have been identified – None more important than the Bristol City v Sheffield United game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. Bristol City against Sheffield United is an important game this week as it effects both the title race and the play off places. Neither side will want to lose as it will effect their chances of promotion. However with Sheffield United playing in the F.A Cup, Notts County do not play until Tuesday night whereby both sides are set to have showdown at Meadow Lane. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 14th February **Bristol City v Sheffield United – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Chesterfield v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Crawley v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Crewe v Fleetwood – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) Doncaster v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Gillingham v MK Dons – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-3) Oldham v Colchester – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) *Peterborough v Rochdale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Scunthorpe v Swindon – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) *Walsall v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) My Stand-out Games Bristol City v Sheffield United Peterborough v Rochdale Walsall v Port Vale Bristol City will be hoping to win and that Swindon lose against Scunthorpe, also that MK Dons drop points against Gillingham so Bristol could possibly move seven points clear at the top of the league one table. Sheffield United will be hoping to win against Bristol City, then Chesterfield, Bradford and Peterborough to lose or drop points to open a gap on the chasing teams for the play off spots. Peterborough will be hoping to win against Rochdale to possibly move two places from the play off places while also leap frogging there opponents. Rochdale will be hoping to win against Peterborough so they could also move within two places of the play off places, whichever team wins will have an advantage over the other for the play offs. Walsall will be hoping to win against Port Vale and move into the play off places, while Port Vale will be hoping to close the gap on the play off places rather then getting dragged into a relegation battle anymore. Thoughts on Bristol City against Sheffield United This week as Notts County don’t play due to fa cup matches, i'm focusing on the Bristol city versus Sheffield United match. This is a game that could go either way really, a draw seems on the cards on current form though I believe Bristol City will edge it. The current results between the two teams show that Sheffield United are favourites. Bristol City beat them earlier in the season at Bramall Lane 1-2 in the league. The overall head to head record shows Sheffield United as favourites winning 24 Bristol 13 and 10 draws. Sheffield United last beat Bristol city in the league on the 22/02/14 3-0. Sheffield United have picked up 9 out of 15 from the last 5 meetings. A tough match to predict but I’ve predicted a 1-0 victory to Bristol City. Match Report - League One Round-Up - Week Days Preview
  21. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 7th of February, several key games have been identified – None more important than the MK Dons v Bristol City game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. MK Dons against Bristol City is possibly the biggest game of the season so far as it will give either team an advantage in the race for the league one title neither side will want to lose. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 7th February *Colchester v Crewe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Doncaster v Walsall – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) *Fleetwood v Peterborough – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Gillingham v Sheffield United – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) **MK Dons v Bristol City – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) *Notts County v Chesterfield – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Port Vale v Bradford – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Preston v Coventry – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Rochdale v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Scunthorpe v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) Swindon v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Yeovil v Crawley – Kick Off 3:00pm Score Prediction (1-0) My Stand-out Games MK Dons v Bristol City Fleetwood v Peterborough Colchester v Crewe MK Dons will be hoping to win so they can go back to top of the league, which they managed to for one day last weekend until Bristol City beat Fleetwood. A win for MK Dons could put them a point clear of their opponents. Bristol City will be hoping to keep up there good run of form, a win could put them six points clear of MK Dons and Swindon depending on results elsewhere. Fleetwood will be hoping to leap frog as many as six teams with a victory against Peterborough, a defeat could see them move into the bottom half of the table. Peterborough will be hoping to pick all three points up to move into the play-off places with a change in form over the past couple weeks, a lose could see them also drop into the bottom half of the league. Colchester against Crewe is a 6 pointer with either side winning leap frogging the other and moving out of the drop zone. A win for Colchester could see them move up to as high as 19th while a victory for Crewe could see them move up to as high as 17th place. Thoughts on Notts County v Chesterfield This week’s match for us is another tough game to predict especially as it’s a local derby, though when you look at current results I would say Chesterfield are favourites, saying that I’ve predicted a draw. Our current results against Chesterfield have been pretty good. We last lost against them back in 2011. The overall head to head record shows us as favourites winning 26 Chesterfield 18 and 18 draws. Chesterfield last beat us in the league on the 15/10/11, beating us 3-1. We have picked up 7 points out of 15 from the last 5 meetings. As I said earlier this match is a tough one to predict as we struggle to score goals. I think a draw would be a pretty good result for us. View New Content - Magpies in the Market - PoN's Live Centre
  22. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 31st of January and the 1st of February, several key games have been identified – None more important than the Sheffield United v Swindon game, as automatic promotion chasing Bristol City and MK Dons will be keen to see Sheffield United continue their recent form. If the Blades win, they could move into the play off places while the robins will also be hoping to win so they can stay top of the league with Bristol City chasing them. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 31st January Barnsley v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Bradford v Colchester – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Chesterfield v Doncaster – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Coventry v Rochdale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Crawley v Preston – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-3) Crewe v MK Dons – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) *Leyton Orient v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Oldham v Notts County – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) * Peterborough v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) **Sheffield United v Swindon – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Sunday 1st February **Bristol City v Fleetwood – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Walsall v Gillingham – Kick Off 6:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) My Stand-out Games Sheffield United v Swindon Leyton Orient v Scunthorpe Bristol City v Fleetwood Sheffield United will be hoping to re enter the play off places with a win against Swindon with 3 games in hand over Fleetwood who currently are in 6th place. A win for Swindon would keep them temporarily in 1st place on goal difference, until Bristol City play Fleetwood on Sunday whereby a high win for the Robins may change this. Leyton Orient could do with a win against Scunthorpe to get out of the relegation places and possibly move above their opponents today which could see them move up to 19th place. Scunthorpe will be hoping to keep up there current form which could see them move up to 16th position but may have to pin their hopes on paddy madden. Bristol City will be hoping to beat Fleetwood, then it will be down to Swindon to beat Sheffield United in order to regain the top position of League One otherwise they may still end up in 2nd position depending on their goal difference. Fleetwood can only possibly move up one place to 5th in the league but could pull away from 7th place Bradford and 8th place Sheffield United, who are hoping to chase them down with a victory against Swindon. Thoughts on Oldham v Notts County This week’s match for us is a tough one to predict again with both teams not picking many points up recently though saying that I think we should just about edge it. Our current results against Oldham Athletic have been pretty good, last losing against them back in 2011. The last time Oldham Athletic beat us was back in 2013 losing 5–1 in the football league trophy. The overall head to head record shows us as slight favourites winning 35 Oldham 32 and 20 draws. Oldham Athletic last beat us in the league on the 31/12/11 beating us 3–2 . We have picked up 9 points out of 15 from the last 5 meetings. As I said earlier this match is a tough one to predict both teams struggling for form though our form is slightly better which makes me predict us to just about pull it off. 23. PoN's Preview looks ahead to League One for the 24th and 27th of January, three games have been postponed Doncaster v Bristol City, Scunthorpe v Chesterfield and Swindon v Bradford. Seven games will still take place such as MK Dons v Barnsley and Peterborough United return to Meadow Lane, as the Post take on Notts. If the magpies win, they could move within touching distance of the play-offs. Peterborough will be hoping to push themselves up with a win, it's a must win game for both. * Important Game – ** Key Game Saturday 24th January 2015 *Colchester v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Fleetwood v Crawley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Gillingham v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) *MK Dons v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (3-0) **Notts County v Peterborough – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Port Vale v Crewe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) *Yeovil v Coventry – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-1) Tuesday 27th January 2015 *Chesterfield v Crawley – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Scunthorpe v MK Dons – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (1-3) My Stand-out Games Notts County vs Peterborough Colchester vs Leyton Orient Yeovil vs Coventry Notts County against Peterborough looks like the most important game this week as both Notts County and Peterborough try to close in on the play off places. A win for Notts County could move them up to as high as 6th place in the league while Peterborough could move within 2 points off the play-offs. Colchester against Leyton orient is also another important game but for different reasons as both sides could be in the drop zone by the end of the weekend depending on results elsewhere. A win for Leyton Orient could move them up to 16th while Colchester could move up to 19th but if either side lose it worsens their relegation fears, the best result for both teams is probably a draw. Yeovil against Coventry is also a key match in the relegation battle as Yeovil are bottom of the league and Coventry hover just above the drop zone. Yeovil will be desperate to pick up another 3 points this weekend as they try to move off the bottom of the league while Coventry will be hoping to win so they don’t get dragged into the relegation battle even more. Yeovil can move out of the drop zone depending on other results while Coventry could move up to 15th or drop into the relegation zone. Thoughts on Notts County v Peterborough This week’s match for us is a tough one to predict with both teams having a dip in form and both teams struggling to get any points in the past weeks. Our current results against Peterborough United have been pretty poor only picking up one point since 2010. The last time we beat Peterborough United was back in 2010 beating them 3–2 at London Road in the league. The overall head to head record shows Peterborough to be slight favourites as they have won 16, we've won 12 and 14 draws. We haven’t beat Peterborough at meadow lane since 2001 winning 1-0. We have picked up 1 point out of 15 from the last 5 meetings. As I said earlier this match is a tough one to predict I’ve predicted a draw which I think would be a good result for us as I believe Peterborough are a better side than what they are currently showing. 24. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 16thand 17th of January, six key games have been identified – This includes the important game between MK Dons vs Sheffield United, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. Whilst Doncaster take on Barnsley at the Keepmoat Stadium. If the Dons win, they could close the gap on Bristol City and Swindon. If the Blades win they could pull away from the sides just outside of the play off places. * Important Game – **Key Game Friday 16th January 2015 *Preston v Leyton Orient – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Saturday 17th January 2015 Colchester v Walsall – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) **Doncaster v Barnsley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Fleetwood v Oldham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Gillingham v Coventry – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-2) **MK Dons v Sheffield United – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) *Notts County v Crewe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) Port Vale v Peterborough – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) Rochdale v Crawley – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) *Scunthorpe v Bristol City – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-3) **Swindon v Chesterfield – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) Yeovil v Bradford – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-3) My Stand-out Games MK Dons v Sheffield United Doncaster v Barnsley Swindon v Chesterfield MK Dons against Sheffield United looks like the most important game this week as MK Dons try to push for a automatic promotion place whilst Sheffield United try to hang onto a play off spot. A win for MK Dons could move them up to 2nd whilst Sheffield United could move up to 5th depending on the result of Yeovil v Bradford. Teams around Sheffield United will want them to mess up so that they might be able to gain points on them. Doncaster against Barnsley is also another game that jumped out at me this week not only because it’s a local derby but also for the fact of whichever team loses could move further down towards the drop zone. A win for Doncaster could move them up to as high as 8th which will make their fans think more about the play-offs again rather than relegation, whilst a win for Barnsley could move them up to 10th which could also ease their relegation fears. Whichever team loses could move down to within 3 places of the drop zone which makes it a key game for more then the local rivalry. Swindon against Chesterfield is a key match for effecting the automatic promotion places aswell as the play-offs and surrounding teams as Swindon try to hang onto top spot or 2nd whilst chesterfield try to push into the play off places. A win for Swindon will put them top or maybe keep them in 2nd place whilst a win for chesterfield could move them up to as high as 5th and move them away from several chasing teams for a play off spot. Thoughts on Notts County v Crewe This weeks match for us should be an easier match then previous weeks whilst at the same time Crewe’s form has picked up as of late. Our current results against Crewe Alexander have been positive although previously we have had better results away from home. The last time we dropped points against Crewe was back in 2013 when we drew 1-1 at Meadow Lane in the league. The overall head to head record shows us as favourites as we have won 20 whilst Crewe have won 12 and drawn 7. Crewe haven’t beaten us since 1997 when they won us 1-0 at Meadow Lane. We have picked up 14 points out of 15 from the last 5 meetings. I believe this is a match we should win but it wont be an easy game as Crewe’s form has improved over the past couple of weeks, I would at least hope for a point but Notts should get all 3 points. 25. In this weeks PoN's preview to the League One games played on the 10th and 12th of January, several key games have been identified – None more important than the Sheffield United v Preston North End game, which several teams within League One will be looking out for. If the Blades win, it will start to close the gap whereby sides hoping for the Play-Off will start to find it harder, if Preston North End win it keeps it wide open. * Important Game – **Key Game Saturday 10th January 2015 Barnsley v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0) *Bradford v Rochdale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Bristol City v Notts County – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-1) **Chesterfield v Port Vale – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) Crawley v MK Dons – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-3) Crewe v Gillingham – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) *Leyton Orient v Fleetwood – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-1) *Oldham v Doncaster – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (0-0) *Peterborough v Colchester – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (3-0) **Sheff Utd v Preston – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-2) *Walsall v Scunthorpe – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (1-0) Monday 12th January 2015 *Coventry v Swindon – Kick Off 7:45pm – Score Prediction (0-3) My Stand-out Games Sheff Utd v Preston Crewe v Gillingham Bristol City v Notts County Bristol City could go back to top of the league temporarily with a win on Saturday until Swindon Town play on Monday who will be hoping to beat Coventry away from home. Crewe will be hoping to ease their relegation fears with a win against fellow strugglers Gillingham. Sheffield United's game against Preston North End gives the invitation for up to 6 sides to contest 6th place, with Chesterfield, Port Vale, Rochdale, Notts County, Peterborough and Fleetwood all in pursuit. With several top teams and bottom clubs playing each other this weekend, I can see teams shooting up the league or dropping down a few places. Thoughts on Bristol City v Notts County This week’s match is a tough one for us. Our current results against Bristol city have been poor especially away. Our last victory against them away came back in 2005 in the F.A Cup when we beat them 2–0. The overall head to head record slightly favours Bristol city also with them winning 41, us winning 38 and 22 draws. Since Bristol city came back down from the championship we have only picked up 1 point from the possible 9. I believe if we manage to get a point from the match we have done well, though that said I see us losing the match and I predict the final score to be 2-1 in their favour.
