  1. Please reapply if you are still interested, @KingMaynard! You hadn’t put your age, and the agreement to our policies wasn’t ticked. We have to reject the application based on those grounds. It doesn’t matter how old you are, as long as you are old enough to volunteer without parental approval.
  2. I’m really enjoying the supportive atmosphere shown here by the community. It’s quite special to see members showing their support, and I’d like to wish you all the best as well. Concentrate on yourself until you’re ready, but know that there’s a place for you here when you’re feeling better.
  3. To prevent the posting of duplicate content, similar content will now appear within the post screen. As you type your title, this will bring up existing discussions, allowing you to see if the topic already exists. There’s the chance that two quick members might bypass this, however, that shouldn’t happen often. Items will only be found from the past year, to avoid discouraging the reuse of old ideas under appropriate circumstances.
  4. Current Members set to away: Chris Fan of Big Tone Updated: 08/03.2024 Note: Team members please help assist me to keep this log as up-to-date as possible. Absent members may not post within this discussion, but this has been started so that the community are aware of anyone who may be set to being away.
  5. @Chris is having a break from posting, but he’s still carrying out many of his responsibilities. He’s utilising a new feature that indicates when members are away. You can find this in your account settings. Please do leave a bit of a reason, you don’t have to share too much but it’s nice to know that members will be coming back, especially in such a close-knit group. If active members suddenly stop showing up or visiting, it can lead to worries about their health and so on. We advise members to use this feature so that others will have an idea of when to expect you back. Remember, you’ll be missed.

  7. Australian Open 2024: Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper & Cameron Norrie play https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/68002778 It’s great to see Emma Raducanu back in action at the Australian Open. After her surgeries, it’s encouraging to hear that she feels comfortable and trusts her body.
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-67950749 This discovery by scientists at the University of Central Lancashire is truly mind-boggling. The Big Ring, a gigantic structure in space, is challenging our understanding of the universe. It’s fascinating that such a large structure, made up of galaxies and galaxy clusters, exists, contradicting the cosmological principle that all matter is spread evenly across the Universe.
  9. We are pleased you have joined us @Harry Buckley, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham.
  10. I'm just curious, not trying to boast. What phone do you have? Is it an Android, an iPhone, or something else? How long have you had it? Which network do you use? How often do you get a new one?
  11. Cash Cab and Beat Shazam are two of my favourites. I haven't been in the UK for some time, but I remember Mastermind.
  12. Yes, I'm quite good at Photoshop, but I don't use it often. There must be several other people out there who are good at it. Are you trying to accomplish something?
  13. Welcome to PON, @True Magpie. You will make a great addition to the site and team.
  14. The old games, when pitches didn't look fancy and resembled more of a farmer's field, are something today's players don't realise how fortunate they are to have avoided. Fortunately, these risky situations are now a thing of the past, with less chance of serious injuries caused by the conditions.
  15. Please remember never to provide sensitive information to any cold callers! This will eliminate 99% of scams, as without obtaining your details they cannot do anything. It's very easy to be fooled! Don't feel bad about this; it can happen to anyone when their guard is down. The rule of thumb is to avoid handing over passwords, bank details, or gift card codes. Scammers are able to replicate official-looking texts, emails, etc., but be doubtful. If you're unsure, ask to call back later and say you'll phone thep company directly. If they start getting jittery or make excuses, put the phone down. In the US, offers must be extended to allow you to think about them. I am not so sure about the UK, but I would assume it would be similar and therefore not allowed to pressure you into a sale.
  16. I believe Chris wants to keep it nearer the top of the page, but no, moving it won't affect followers of emails that are sent out.
  17. Just to clarify, if you haven’t given permission or previously subscribed to the old mailing list, you won’t receive this newsletter. We have some excellent guests lined up to share their thoughts on Notts. I strongly encourage everyone to give permission. Not only will this newsletter be of high quality, but it will also be a regular way to stay informed about the Pride of Nottingham. It’s going to be a great read for fans.
  18. Hello, Callumpie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham! It’s wonderful to see you participating, and we hope to see you back now that we’re in the new year. Enjoy your time on PON in 2024. We’re pleased you’re here.
  19. Hello, Morten Johansen. It’s fantastic to have an international magpie among us, and you’ll always be warmly welcomed. Thank you for your contributions to the Pride of Nottingham, and I look forward to seeing more of your input and views. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask a team member.
  20. Hello, Robbie. I hope you’re feeling at home and welcomed at the Pride of Nottingham. It’s brilliant to have you here! Thank you for all your contributions so far; it’s been great to see you getting involved right from registration. If you need help with anything, please feel free to message a team member.
  21. Could I kindly request everyone to put forward nominations for the following categories: Newbie of the Month (any member from this past year), Member of the Month, and Team Member of the Month? Feel free to nominate as many individuals as you deem suitable. Don’t fret if you’re uncertain about who’s new or who are team members, I’ll take this into account. I’m aiming for 4 Newbies, 6 Members, and 4 Team Members. Those with the most nominations will be placed in the appropriate categories. Voting will commence on the 26th, which is in 3 days’ time. Do make sure to nominate, even if you don’t fill each category. Let’s spread some community cheer!
  22. Our boss is super excited and has asked me to make sure if our members are subscribed. If not, are they okay with me manually adding their emails to our brand new newsletter database? We’re really eager to include most of the active members of our community. Of course, we wouldn’t dream of adding anyone’s email without their permission. If you’re okay with it, just leave a comment below to let us know. No need to share your email address here - if it’s different from the one you use for Pride of Nottingham, just mention it and I’ll send you a private message. This way, we can avoid any unwanted spam. Please be aware that this doesn’t cover the mass emails sent through the system with updates or alerts. It also doesn’t include the occasional in-house email that our gaffer sends out. This is strictly for members who love PON, want to hear from former players, and look forward to receiving a monthly newsletter.
  23. This discussion is really sparking my interest! I’ve got a couple of questions for you. They’re essentially the same, just framed differently for those in favour and those against. What if the owners of Notts County made the following statements? If they expressed a desire to buy the land and explained their reasons, would that change how you feel? What would alleviate your concerns? Conversely, if they declared they had no intention of owning the land and explained why, would you accept this as being for the best? Or would you bring it up at a future fans forum? Most sports teams do own their own venues, although I can’t say for sure how common this is for League One or Two teams. It’s a fascinating topic, isn’t it?
  24. Like these? Apologies if this photo is from the incorrect year or not the right style, but I vividly recall seeing much tighter ones in old football highlights. I reckon Liverpool had some where it seemed like their players could’ve done with a bit more breathing space. Those were the days, weren’t they? The fashion of football kits has certainly evolved over the years!
  25. No need to fret, a membership tier isn’t mandatory, it’s just a way to support the site. If you’re a YouTube fan and subscribe to your favourite channels, you might see them thanking their Patreon supporters. It’s the same here. But unlike YouTube, which mainly requires time, a website has traditional costs that can easily reach double digits per month. I reckon @Chris has done a fantastic job adding value to each membership. It’s rare to see something given in return - usually, it’s just early access to content. From our internal team chats, I know a lot of time is spent trying to cover costs, which can be hit or miss with donations alone. There’s nothing wrong with that, but when you have to make sales on top of running a content-rich site, you end up spending more time trying to provide content than actually being able to continue it. This support will give @Chris more time to bring back content like his old media work. That’s definitely worth supporting, I believe.
