Experienced midfielder Jim O'Brien agrees new deal with Notts County
Good model professional, Jim. Pleased he's signed his life away for two more years as a pie!

Notts County first summer signing announced as former Torquay United defender Kyle Cameron
Very good signing for this level and the future, he looked a decent player for Torquay United. Let's hope he settles in well wearing the famous black and white stripes!

Match Discussion: Game 22 - The Terras (A)
Notts can run at times well when someone decides to take players on, I wished it would happen more often because even if the player doesn't score like Sam did, it should open up play or intimidate the opposition. Being clever with the ball like this makes games from eventless to somewhat rememberable.

I can see clearly now (a positive blog, I think.....)
Mate it's a good read to see that you are feeling happier within yourself.

Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Hatters (H)
Disappointing but no real surprise, I still think Notts could have won them had the game not be postponed. More time for training now!

Match Discussion: Game 5 - The Magpies (H)
I am not sure what to expect, or what team will take to the field. I'm expecting one or two changes due to fitness, it would be nice if Cal Roberts could start. I think we miss him a lot when he doesn't play. If Kyle Wootton misses the game, it would be disappointing. Wes Thomas or Elisha Sam to partner him is fine by me. Not sure about the young striker from Mansfield.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - The U's (A)
Slocombe Brindley Lacey Rawlinson McCrory Roberts Doyle Enzio Rodrigues Wootton Sam This would be the line up I would like to see, I think Thomas has been brilliant but I would like to see Sam start. Ardley has mentioned he needs to get himself up to fitness, but sitting out games won't do that. I think with the quality the squad has to create chances, he would start to fit in if he started a few games.
-
Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Bees (H)
Potentially a different tough game at the weekend, It will be interesting to see if Ardley rests anyone. Barnet are a good side, they're on the same amount of points as us and have won and lost their opening games. I can see this one ending up as a draw if I am honest, 2-2 would be my prediction.
-
Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Robins (H)
Some form of creativity from the centre needs to be injected, if Notts lose tomorrow I won't complain, but if I was Neal Ardley I would drag the whole squad into training however best this may be done and have them work hard towards Saturday. I feel quietly confident that the points can be picked up, its for us to prove ourselves. I would like to see Sam start, some might complain if he starts but we have to mix things off. Let's face it, if he scored the winner, nobody would say anything.

Notts County issue 2019/2020 retained list
Bye goes my display picture! I thought Tom had great potential. Good luck to them.

Match Discussion: Playoff final - Sulphurites
I don't know, I am very nervous because its the biggest stage for the club to be playing at. Wembley could inspire the players or make them nervous, I just hope nobody does a Stevie G and slips up, because no matter who it is, some fans will turn on them. On the positive side, most look fired up and motivated. I think it will be a close game, 1-0 maybe.

Coronavirus
Its mad to think how casual the UK is handling the Coronavirus, no wonder people didn't take it serious at first. Those now still acting like this won't change their minds until they're forced to stay at home.

Notts Season in Focus: 1997-98
It sounds like an incredible season, I know some Notts fans hate Big Sam now but he worked his magic for us. I think its just the way he left and the fact some wanted him to succeed more for the club that gave him his first big chance. Good review @DangerousSausage.

Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Spitfires (H)
The team does play much better when they're all keen to create good chances, when was the last time Notts produced such quality in their goals? I almost felt sorry for Eastleigh as they looked like a park team at times.
-
Match Discussion: Game 37 - The Shots (H)
Notts looked class going forward, I though Enzio played quite well. First time for awhile we have looked a threat down both sides and Aldershot put players onto him and Roberts. Once Notts got level, I agree, I felt they would crumble and if we kept at the same tempo more goals would be scored. I thought it was going to end 5-1 at one point.
-
Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Spitfires (H)
The advantage should make it somewhat easier, I can't help but feel more of the players need to get on with being fouled. DKE and Roberts just get on with it, but at this level the refs miss an awful lot. I think it will be quite open to be honest.

Match Discussion: Game 38 - The Bluebirds (A)
Zero chance of catching Barrow unless they majorly ***k up. I would rather focus on where we are and get the team focused towards picking whatever points we can, it's important that we end this season off well. If this means missing out on the playoffs, I'm happy provided the players fight. I want to see that attitude against Barrow, that desire to pick up a win. The defeat left a bitter taste and I am hoping we can just put that right. Fair play to Barrow, they deserved it but it was just those antics. That needs to be our team talk, the players need to reward the travelling fans.

Match Discussion: Game 24 - The Coasters (A)
It's going to be a long game I feel, I will be listening on the radio but only loosely. Hoping for a 3-1 Notts win.

Coronavirus
I have to say the worst thing is seeing people covering their faces, then them coughing or showing signs of flu. It makes you wonder! Then that leads to you worrying. I haven't got much to be concerned about, I think it's more dangerous for people who need extra care as it is. Please keep safe if your immune system struggles.
-
Match Discussion: Game 36 - Monkey Hangers (A)
I feel confident to be honest, Hartlepool do well when there midfield is given time to use the ball. Provided O’Brien and whoever plays alongside him doesn’t get pinned back Notts should do fine.
-
Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Cardinals (H)
Notts have done well at home, a repeat of Chesterfield would be good. I am not suggesting Notts will hammer Woking, but the style in which the team controlled Chesterfield could be good to see on Saturday. Whatever happens, this season is starting to hotten up.

Match Discussion: FA Trophy - The Glovers (A)
9 men win! against 11 dirty, cheating thugs. Highlight for me was Kyle Wootton mugging Carl Dickinson off, if his pass had of gone in it would have been amazing. 2-1 win, we'll take that!
-
Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Spireites (H)
Kristian Dennis to start ahead of Wes Thomas? This time, I would save Dennis for when they become tired or are more likely to switch off. I will be interested to see the team sheet and who fills in for Michael Doyle. We are all pinning our hopes on Jim O'Brien but it might be safer to go with Tom Crawford, at least for the first half.
-
Match Discussion: Game 32 - Daggers (A)
The better results have tended to come away from home, Notts have been lucky at times at Meadow Lane. Ardley needs to send them out instructed to create chances, the game plan has to be to take the lead quality. If the players defend well, play it calmly and build well I can see a good result coming.

Time for Notts County to give fringe players a chance?
I think one more signing will be made, with Tyson going out but I agree 100% that we should use the players we have at our disposal. Young players shouldn't be judged the same as experienced ones. Why are some quick to defend Enzio but harsh on Ozzy for the odd mistake? I would rather support potential, over inadequate performances. Get everyone fighting to perform well, replace those by giving others a chance. It could be that some are just tired and are in need of rest.
