  1. Same here, I followed @Fan of Big Tone yesterday. It’s always good to reconnect and make friends with people outside of PON. I don’t tweet much myself; I mostly interact with PON and the boys, but you’re a welcome addition, Tony
  2. I thought Ollie was doing well, but I still don’t like the Nottingham Post. My issue isn’t with who covers Notts; it’s with the people higher up and the paper itself. It’s a shame Ollie King is moving on. I wish him well. I hope whoever comes in is half as interested in establishing a connection with the fans as Ollie and Leigh Curtis did.
  3. Well done on the weight loss, @Fozzy! Continue to the point where you feel happier. Don’t feel like you have to conform to others, but it does sound like you’re putting your health first, which is a must. Also, @Fan of Big Tone, it makes sense to cut back on your drinking before the holiday. It’s much easier to lose weight when it’s manageable than it is to lose it afterward. You’ll both pass those fitness tests so that the gaffer can select you both. As for me, I usually only drink on weekends and even then, it’s seldom. I don’t like beer; I prefer vodka, cider and alcopops.
  4. I wouldn’t know who to suggest at this stage. I do plan to take a look at the free agent list to see if I spot any good talent. I think the club will have already made contact with most of their targets.
  5. I hope Ruben looks at our squad and his teammates and realises that now isn’t the time for him to leave. Both Notts and Derby have a good chance of gaining promotion. Both have question marks about where they’ll finish, but on paper, they should be in with a shout for promotion. I just don’t see how the club is more appealing than us right now.
  6. It’s terrible news. I had assumed that he had simply become preoccupied or lost interest, but to discover that the reason is much more tragic. Well, it puts things into perspective. I always perceived him as very supportive and an integral part of our community. Rest in Peace, @Who r ya?? You Pies!!.
  7. Round 8 has arrived and it's uncertain whether it will be challenging or straightforward. The hope is that it will be more difficult and require several rounds of clues. Best of luck to all! Clue: This person is an English football coach and former professional footballer. They began their career with a Premier League side and went on to play for several Football League teams before playing in Non-league. They returned to one of their former teams as a joint player/manager before departing at the end of a season. Can you guess who this person is? Points Table @Fozzy - 4 @Fan of Big Tone - 1 @KB1862 - 1 @super_ram - 1
  8. What a signing for Notts County! Jodi Jones is an absolute baller who can tear apart any defence with his pace and skill. He was a joy to watch during his loan spell and I’m so happy he’s staying with us for the next two years. He’s got a bright future ahead of him and he’ll be a key player for us.
  9. This is a fantastic signing for Notts County. Jodi Jones is one of the best players in the league and he’ll only get better with more experience and confidence. He’s got pace, skill, vision and a great attitude. He’s a joy to watch and I can’t wait to see him in action again.
  10. I apologise, I made an error. I initially believed he was a right back, but upon checking to confirm, I discovered references to him being a centre back. @Fozzy is indeed correct; I am uncertain if he played there later in his career. I shall update the table and return with a new participant tomorrow around 6pm.
  11. I like it! However, it’s incorrect unfortunately. I never thought that mentioning John Terry could lead to Sol Campbell, but it’s a clever assumption.
  12. I subscribed to PiesPlayer for two seasons, but in the end, I regretted it because the content started to slow down. However, the club has shown that they can invest in the service and make it more worthwhile - their coverage of the Wembley match was fantastic. I hope they take some time to reflect on what the service could be and work on improving it. Otherwise, I’ll stick with watching highlights on YouTube.
  13. Welcome back, lads! Let’s leave the past behind us and move forward. If you have any issues or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the team members. I’m always here to help and will do my best to resolve any conflicts without anyone falling out. It’s great to have you both back with us.
  14. No, that’s not quite right, but it was a good guess. I’ll reveal a little something that might help you figure out who this person is - he played in the same position on the pitch as John Terry. Keep those guesses coming!
  15. @JohnTheBost The show is just over an hour long, but you can shave off some time by skipping past the parts that aren’t related to Notts County. I really enjoyed it - although I do think it would be more appealing if they featured some fans who aren’t usually given a platform to speak. That being said, I understand why they choose certain people - it helps them to share and promote the show. I also really enjoy listening to David Jackson - I wish he covered Notts County instead of Charlie Slater. Whenever he has covered our matches in the past, I always felt like I had a better understanding of what happened on the pitch than when Charlie was commentating.
  16. It’s a tough choice as there were so many great goals to choose from. I think the club could have narrowed down their selection to just 5 goals to make it easier for us to decide. However, I’m going to go with the one that stands out most in my memory - John Bostock’s goal against Wrexham.
  17. Congratulations to Nottingham Forest on securing their place in the Premier League! It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players, staff and fans. Wishing them all the best for the upcoming season.
  18. It’s not Frank Vincent or John Bostock, although both are excellent guesses based on the limited information provided in the first clue. The second clue: He is now a manager. The first four teams he played for have a very interesting pattern that was only broken after he signed from one London club to another.
  19. I worked from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Occasionally, I ate out, but mostly I had a packed lunch. Nothing noteworthy happened during this time as I spent every day contributing to PON. I re-joined Facebook after forgetting the password to my old account and have been making new friends in the Nottingham community. For the past two days, I have been relaxing and posting on social media. I had planned to do something more adventurous today, but I couldn’t be bothered.
  20. Great articles, lads! It’s wonderful to see @TheSkipper featured and the return of the Notts Alumni articles.
  21. Notts has had a successful run during the conference years, performing well in their first season. Some fans may have had changing expectations due to the arrival of the Reedtz and the possibility of increased spending. However, it’s important to note that both the Reedtz and the club as a whole needed time to adjust. Finishing in the playoffs has been a great achievement and could serve as a hallmark of the club’s success. The two appearances at Wembley were incredible experiences, and it’s unfortunate that fans were unable to attend due to COVID restrictions. Achieving promotion within four seasons is a respectable accomplishment!
  22. The Non-League Paper has provided good coverage of the league, offering a fair perspective.
  23. In terms of notable free kicks, I can only recall those involving Notts or goals scored against the club, which have already been mentioned.
  24. This is signs of a top, top player. Langstaff’s performance is nothing short of amazing. He has consistently delivered outstanding performances on the field, showing incredible skill and precision. His talent and dedication are truly admirable, and he has proven himself to be a top-tier player.
  25. Don’t worry, this time I’ve been much more careful, but there’s still enough information for some guesses to be made. Once I receive two guesses or any questions, I’ll follow up.
