Oh dear @CliftonMagpie I'm going to have to reprimand you for not reading the article properly..My Meadow Lane visit was in Division 2 season 1957/58.The Rams were promoted the previous season,1956/57 and my FIRST Rams game was a Division 3 North game in the 1955/56 season. Just to confirm @TheSkipper,the Meadow Lane visit was my first away game.To make it worse for the Rams,Notts had a player sent off and Notts still won.Thanks for the good wishes.

I;m glad you liked it @liampie.If you ever watched Corrie ,can you imagine a slimmer and younger version of Fred Elliott,well 'our Stan' was very like him.He used to make @GrannyPie laugh a lot ,especially when telling tales of me when younger.

We'll have to see about that,perhaps when DCFC aren't playing and it's not too hot,cold,windy or wet.

I used to live about 5 minutes from the ground @liampie I went to their first game in 1959 when 2 other Alfreton teams merged.I went most games until I was old enough to go to Derby without an adult.

That's what I thought but didn't want to jump to the wrong conclusion. So referring to my comment about expecting a lot of opposition teams using this tactic ,this game was exactly what Luke Williams wanted.He will have to try and work out how to beat stubborn defences .Great planning.

Can anyone answer my question? Did Boston play ultra defensively ? I ask because i'm expecting a lot of teams to 'park the bus ' and try to frustrate Notts this coming season..

Some interesting comments above.I'd like to know how strong the Flor*st team/Notts team was through all parts of the game.I bet I get a lot of varying reports,which is to be expected.When I came away from Rams games with my mates we often had conflicting opinions.
