Blimey these photos bring back memories of when I first started work at Simon,May and co on Weekday cross over 60 years ago. I remember on my first day being given directions to a newsagents on Broad marsh bus station via Drury Hill.I didn't know Nottingham very well and it was a bit of an adventure.I can't remember why I was sent to the newsagent but I have a vivid memory of walking down the steps of Drury hill ,which curved to the right as you descended. It would have been just after 9am and the morning rush had almost passed so was almost deserted and gave a feeling of isolation with it being narrow and not being able to see far in front or behind,The curve seemed to last forever and I was glad to reach the openness of the bus station.

Very sad news.The Beach Boys were a group whose latest releases were anticipated with as much eagerness as The Beatles or The Stones and Brian Wilson was the genius behind them.Rest in Peace Brian Wilson.
