  1. Sam Slocombe’s new role is certainly an interesting one. It’s not often you see a goalkeeper moving into a broader coaching position. There’s definitely value in the perspective keepers bring, especially when it comes to reading strikers or dealing with one-on-ones. Maybe it’s part of a wider shift behind the scenes or just a fresh idea being trialled. Either way, it feels worth giving it time rather than rushing to call it a failure. Though judging by some of the overexcited responses, you’d think a few had just woken up mid-rant without checking what day it is.
  2. There’s nothing wrong with paid employees working for a charity. Scientists, councillors, administrators, and others are all needed for its operation. However, I don’t agree with paying large amounts to CEOs and other people who earn much more than a reasonable salary. I’m not sure I would feel comfortable donating to a charity that pays non-essential staff more than Β£200,000 a year, and even then, I feel uneasy about it.
  3. If we embraced change instead of clinging to the past, we could have a say in what the future holds. It shows that Notts has been around for a very long time, but it has also been mismanaged in equal parts. To be honest, it’s one of those "meh" statistics.
  4. You wouldn't be a football club if you didn't hope or believe your team could get promoted. I suggest waiting until the new year to review performances then. It’s easy to get carried away, but in short, yes, it’s still too early to make a definite call.
  5. The guy is a fool. His role and the fact that he spoke in a recorded video, criticising someone, is simply not acceptable. All of this could have been dealt with internally. The media are just as guilty for stirring up the drama.
