  1. Really excited by this appointment, really enjoyed watching wealdstone while we were in the national league, they play some attractive football which has been installed by Maynard and his backroom staff. Hopefully he can tighten us up at the back while also being able to implement his style of dominating possession. This team could be something special if we can sort out the defensive insecurities. Stuart Maynards black white army
  2. It's going to be a tough game, like every game in this league is in their own way. I'd expect us to control the game for the most part, but notts are always suspect to making silly errors in parts of the game that are not needed. Second half performances need improving, we always seem to start slow after the break, not sure if it's a mentality thing or just lack of concentration. Defence needs settling, we have the quality of players in the defence. The goals we are conceding aren't down to style of play, they are down to silly errors, lack of concentration in key moments. When they get ironed out I'm sure we will be right up there. Whether that's with the same defenders or bringing someone in in January.
  3. Going to be another tough game. Gillingham are a good side. Despite their dip in form in recent games. They will be tough to break down, so we will have to be on our A game to get through it. Really hope Bostock,Cameron and Jones are all back in the XI. It showed on Saturday that they are really big players for how we want to play. Bostock giving that calmness in the midfield, jodi running at defenders, creating things. Im 50/50 on today, really hope notts get the win just to calm everything down. Still along way to go. COYP
  4. Quite nervous for the game tomorrow. Swindon have started really well this season as the table shows. Going to be a really difficult game, they are a free scoring attacking team,.who are the top scorers with quality players. The defence is really going to have to be switched on the whole night to get something from the game. I have full belief in Williams to get the team selection correct. Although I was a bit surprised to not see Bostock in the starting XI against Colchester maybe he had a slight knock or was just being saved for tomorrow. Having Bostock and Palmer in the middle of the pitch together is the most crucial thing in to making this team tick imo. Having Palmer,Austin and Crowley in there made it just a little bit to attacking, I understand Austin and Crowley bring energy in the midfield but having the composure of Bostock and Palmer together seems to work well. Have full faith in the lads to put Saturday right and get a big win against a very good Swindon side and start off a really tough month of fixtures for notts. COYP
  5. It's going to be another tough test but I believe in the boys to go out there and get the 3 points. I think Williams will revert back to his favoured XI. Salford will want to try and slow the game down and bring their big unit of a striker into play and get People running off him which Notts will have to be switched on with. We definitely have the capability of getting all 3 points. Another great following by the Notts fans. Let's watch super county put on a show
  6. Like many people have said, this is going to be the biggest test of the season so far. Mk dons are a really good team, who like to play fast attacking football. Which could fall into notts advantage as we have the quality of players to play through their high press. Having jodi Jones unavailable is going to be a huge miss. Their is a lot of players that can come into that LWB position. In my opinion I think it will be chicksen that comes in but I wouldn't be disappointed seeing Tobi adebayo come in. Yet again we are taking well over 2000 fans to MK dons tomorrow. The fans have been amazing since the start of the season. They will be the difference in this game I'm sure. Can't wait to get down there tomorrow and support the lads. COYP
  7. It's really pleasing to see how we have progressed since the first day of the season. We look a completely different team. The team that we were used to seeing so much last season. Glad we are top of the league. But we should use this as a stepping stone instead of a celebration at this time. It shows we are capable of being in and around it come the end of the season, just have to keep the momentum and positive performances coming. Really disappointed yet again to not get a clean sheet. Defence still shaky. We really need a big centre half that can challenge for headers and just be a rough centre back to play against. Need to have a mixture of CB options who like to play out with the ball and some who are the "Brexit" CBs Onto MK dons next week. Massive test.
  8. Really good performance from notts. Controlled the game for pretty much the whole 90 minutes. John Bostock what a player I'm still shocked on how we got him on a free transfer way to good for league 2. Tranmere are a decent side. They kept the ball well and made us work for it. They were dangerous on the counter which we saw in the first half. Richard brindley in the middle of the back 3 is the best version of brindley I've seen since he's been at notts. Looks so calm and composed on the ball. Nothing fazed him today. Really disappointed to not get the clean sheet again. The signs are there that we are improving defensively. Just need to cut out these little errors and we'll be good. Onto Accrington next Saturday. COYP
  9. I'm confident for Saturday. Doncaster was a really good performance from notts. Conceding in the last minute or so was a huge disappointment I didn't think Aidan Stone deserved to concede a goal. Being at home is a massive advantage over any team that comes to the lane. We have made it a really difficult place to come and play. The fans are amazing and we have to show that again.
  10. Overall a really good Away day. Donny fans were non existent, the ground was decent. Notts were very good today. Dominated possession yet again. We had to be patient today, first 20-25 minutes we didn't create much but after that the chances started coming and we took the majority of them. Bostock and Palmer yet again controlling midfield that partnership is really something special. Was surprised to see Austin at RWB. Could mean nemane had a little knock but Austin did well playing in a position he hasn't played before. Onto Saturday against Tranmere COYP
  11. I think today will be a more open game than Morecambe I think Donny will want to make it a game of football not them watching us have all of the ball. The pitch looks very slick and looks like the ball will move smoothly which will benefit us. Good following from notts aswell with around 2000 fans making their way down. Defence still needs a bit of work but I'm 100 sure Luke Williams will rectify whatever the issue has been.
  12. What I heard from other people saying. It was like the notts from last season. Passing the ball around with confidence and flair. Attacking the box with purpose. Notts had all off the possession, with minimal chances on goal, apart from chances from mcgoldrick and Jones who's strike hits the bar. Morecambe had 11 men behind the ball. They wanted to sit and hit notts on the counter. I really feel notts need something different whether that be a change in shape or maybe personal. Langstaff has looked isolated for the past few games. Hopefully it's just getting used to League 2 and the goals will start flowing.
  13. Absolutely devastating news about bajrami. Such a versatile player who can play multiple roles in this Luke Williams system. A player that will be missed for his presence in the centre of the pitch. Wish him a speedy recovery
  14. I think all teams he has mentioned their all are top top teams who have the quality to get out of this league. Their are also teams that haven't been mentioned such as Gillingham. This league is another really tough one and we can't take any team for granted
  15. In this type of game against this opposition I think Luke Williams will opt for a much stronger team which was selected in the Nuneaton game. It will give Luke a much clearer idea of what his best team is all be it being really early in pre season. I think whatever team he decides to put out will want to win the game. The scoreline won't matter as pre season is all about getting fit and ready for the start of the season. But with Williams high standards he won't allow the players to not give it their all.
  16. An absolutely amazing signing for notts. Was such a vital player in both play off games. Had such an impact. Really looks like a top top player and I can't wait to see more from him in a notts shirt. Jodi is one of them players that can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and completely change it by himself. We have many of these types of players in the squad. Can't wait for next season. COYP
  17. What a game. What a season. I still can't believe we've done it. We've have been absolutely quality throughout the season and are marginally unlucky to not go up as champions. The mentality that Luke Williams has installed into the players has been remarkable. In previous seasons we would have been written of when we were 2-0 down at home to BW. This team are really a different animal. I'm so happy to see my first promotion with notts hopefully there's more great times to come. We are going up #COYP.
