  1. I completely agree with @Wilfordpie, there's just no need for these sorts of comments. They're unhelpful and unnecessary, most of all, disrespectful. Let's be supportive fans, not discouraging ones.
  2. It's fair to say he's got great potential, but it's obviously going to take him some time to develop into the high-calibre keeper we know he can be. His decision to go to Gateshead is commendable as it will provide him with the practical exposure he needs at this stage of his career. The prospect of playing regularly, of course, is always beneficial for any player's development.
  3. With a player like Macaulay Langstaff on your side, you know there are goals to be had. I'm curious if Luke Williams plans to play two strikers either all the time or just occasionally. I think Langstaff will benefit greatly from the new signings such as Dan Crowley and David McGoldrick. Whether it's a tap-in or not, you have to have talent to convert goals - just look at Kairo Mitchell.
  4. What stands out for me in this discussion is how tight the competition for promotion seems to be. Everybody has mentioned different teams with good chances, which goes on to show the depth of talent in the league. I also agree with the sentiment that we can't underestimate any team. Accrington's performance, given their lower budget, is a prime example of this.
  5. The gesture by Stoke City underscores that football isn't restricted to the goals and the wins, but also about fostering a sense of community. It is an example worth emulating.
  6. I echo the sentiments pointing out Doyle's potential effectiveness as a mentor to young talent. This new role could indeed be an exciting chapter in his career. There are some valid concerns and doubts expressed by others, which is a natural part of any transition. Let's not forget the experience, knowledge, and sheer determination that Doyle brings to the table for Portsmouth.
  7. Hello, welcome @rohan. Take some time to settle in.
  8. Hello, welcome @Michael D P. It's good to see you on PON.
  9. Nemane's extension is fantastic for the morale of the club and the fans. His exceptional flair, speed, and unique play style make games exciting and gives supporters something to look forward to. Well done, Notts for securing his continued services! The next two years are looking brighter with such a talent on our side.
  10. It's important to remember that these decisions are never as straightforward as they seem. Let's be patient. It is a great interview by Luke Williams, the focus on training sounds spot on.
  11. It's odd how we put celebrities on a pedestal and then get surprised when they do the most human things.
  12. I like the fact that the manager expects the new arrivals to adapt quickly to his philosophy. This gives a super promise of a potentially exciting season. The manager's positive attitude will surely rub off onto the players and the staff.
  13. Chesterfield seemed to be the perfect loan setting for Dallas. Not so sure about Gillingham.
  14. Glad to see Matty Palmer getting the recognition he deserves. He's a class act and a real asset to the team.
  15. I don’t think any game is easy until the season starts. Then, it’s down to how much the other team wants to do well. There will be some teams that may become the whipping boys. However, as we have seen, those clubs on lower budgets aren’t always the teams to struggle. I think our fixtures are fantastic. I don’t grumble about who we get or when. I do agree that it’s good to get the likes of Tranmere Rovers out of the way.
  16. I have some England shirts, both home and away. However, I haven’t bought any for years. The thing with England is that you don’t need a new shirt to support them. I also have one that I consider to be lucky, so I don’t bother with new ones anymore.
  17. Yesterday, I fetched my weekly shopping and sat in the garden after enjoying the weather with a few cold cans. Today, I had a walk along the River Trent and did a bit of window shopping in town. This afternoon, I have listened to some music and watched the rain fall. It’s almost like April showers.
  18. Some Port Vale fans have expressed that he starts off well, but gradually becomes poor over time and concedes more than he saves. A lot of their fans are simply not bothered he was released. This either suggests we are taking a punt signing him or he just had a difficult time in his later stay with Port Vale. Good luck to him.
  19. One of the first things I did upon joining was to add a picture and fill in basic parts of my profile. I would agree that adding to it makes a person on a screen seem more interesting when their profile has information about them on it.
  20. David Beckham, Luka Modric, Lothar Matthäus, Cristiano Ronaldo and Diego Maradona are all exceptional football players. When Beckham first joined the England squad, he always looked special. Luka Modric at one point single-handedly made Croatia a threat. Lothar Matthäus was a class midfielder/defender for Germany and was one of the best ever! In his earlier days, Cristiano Ronaldo transformed a poor and average Portugal into a team to watch. Diego Maradona broke hearts, but watching him play always felt like you were on the edge of your seat - such a talented player!
  21. These fixtures are likely the best we’ve had in a while. There are some really great matches, such as Mansfield at home and Grimsby away. If Notts play their cards right, we could continue our form from last season and be in a strong position by Christmas.
  22. It’s great news that he’s becoming a father. That should make life a lot easier and I don’t think it will distract him from doing his best. In fact, it should make him more determined to do well so he can provide everything his family needs. I wish him and his partner well and am excited about his signing.
  23. Where does Junior Morias fit within this squad? I don’t think he’s quite the “panic buy”, but it seems like a strange signing considering his injury and the level of minutes he ended up playing. It’s great that we are building depth, but in each of his positions we have multiple players and his place on the pecking order seems to lower with each addition. So, where does he fit in Luke Williams’ side?
  24. I hope we haven’t forgotten about the signing of Junior Morias. He will want minutes and it’s good that we are building depth, but it reduces time for key players like Cedwyn Scott. Yet according to TransferMarkt.co.uk, he can play in Ruben’s position and on the right. I think we only need two defenders and not much else.
  25. The Council should have proceeded earlier, it’s as simple as that. Notts cancelling makes sense, the moment has passed now.
