  1. I would like to know the reasons that Salford City gave for this to happen, as it seems when Notts wants to postpone games for legitimate reasons, it never gets granted. Yet the moment teams like Chesterfield, Salford, Portsmouth etc. want to back out of games, it’s granted.
  2. Best Signing: David McGoldrick Highest Goal Scorer: Macaulay Langstaff Most Improved Player of the Season: Sam Slocombe Most Starts in the Season: Matt Palmer Best partnership between two players: Sam Austin and Will Randall
  3. Great to hear Luke Williams speak so fondly and respectably about Steve Cooper. Strong rivals, but there's no denying the class on both sides.
  4. Best of luck, Charlie. Thanks for making our games so much more interesting with your commentary!
  5. What is likely to happen to Barnsley? Does anyone know? Will it just be the EFL imposing financial implications and a standard fine?
  6. Routine friendly for both teams, neither side played badly and both gave their all. I think a draw would have been fairer, but when you give the ball away so cheaply, those are the situations where big teams will punish you. Luke Williams will have to focus a bit more on the team’s defending and passing from the back. Why we continue to make similar mistakes without noticeable improvement in this area of our play is concerning. Otherwise, I felt impressed.
  7. Reading this blog, it's clear that there is a wave of optimism washing over Notts County ahead of this season. The new signings offer reason for optimism, from the quality of skills and positions they cover, to the blend of experience and freshness they bring. Every player will bring his unique attributes in a way that will empower Notts. This is an enjoyable read.
  8. It’s about time decisions were looked into properly and repercussions were sorted. I don’t see why it took so long for them to decide it was violent conduct. If the evidence is clear enough, it should be quite simple to implement the 3-game ban.
  9. I don’t know much about the Turkish league, but I wish Marc Bola all the best. He’s a good player, so I hope the move brings him closer to winning trophies.
  10. Good luck to Archie Mair, after his saves at Wembley he will always be remembered at Notts.
  11. It’s the same every year when Notts doesn’t perform well in pre-season friendlies. It wouldn’t surprise me if Notts played non-league teams in the past to avoid this kind of overreaction. I don’t know what some people expect from a team that is two divisions higher and has previously spent many years in the Premier League. Some people are just spoilt, while others are simply absent-minded.
  12. Hello, welcome to the site @MagpieRob. ????????????????
  13. David McGoldrick, Dan Crowley, Aaron Nemane, Adam Chicksen all did some neat things. Will Randall seems to have a good understanding with Jodi Jones, who worked well with Sam Austin. I thought the players that came on made Notts look more defensive, but to my surprise, they took the game to Stoke. I thought the atmosphere was poor, but some fans tried to encourage the players in a positive way. We will always get a few idiots overreacting.
  14. I am just keen to get back to Meadow Lane and see how we do against Stoke City. Winning doesn’t matter; I just want to see us have chances and defend as well as we can.
  15. Welcome to the community, I recently joined myself and I hope you enjoy it as much as me @rohan.
  16. Macaulay Langstaff had a good run out; I thought the Nuneaton keeper pulled off some great saves. Finding the net early into pre-season can build confidence. A striker thrives on having chances, and I do feel that, with the way Luke Williams has Notts playing, a good striker will score, but an exceptional player will net a few. It’s been a while since we’ve had a player so natural at finishing.
  17. In the first few games, Notts has a good chance of establishing themselves with the front runners of League Two. I think realistically, there may be several teams 10 games in that just need to find the right balance with their results in order to be a firm title or promotion contender. I would like for Notts to be in the running for either, yet provided we are clear from the drop, then we are fine.
  18. It's reassuring to see Williams focus on continuation from last season's style of play. He understands the importance of sticking to what has worked, while exploring necessary changes during pre-season.
  19. Good comments and insight from the fans, excellently written. I am also looking forward to the new season!
  20. Nemane's impact has been palpable. He's played a key role in our successful season. Well done, lad!
  21. Luke Williams has a talent for seeing the bigger picture. His handling and communication skills are part of what makes him a successful manager. I think he’ll do well with us in League Two, as we have more depth now.
  22. Reading Luke's view on pre-season games being a time for hard work, concentration, and shutting down space is reassuring. The strategy appears sound, and I hope it translates well on the pitch.
  23. It's interesting to hear that Crowley had interest from other clubs but chose Notts County because of their style of play. It's a testament to the club's reputation and ambition that players are willing to choose them over other options.
  24. Stone's journey from playing in defence as a youngster to becoming a goalkeeper shows his versatility and adaptability. I'm confident that these qualities will serve him well at Notts County.
  25. David McGoldrick's homecoming is definitely something to look forward to this season. His passion and commitment to the club will surely inspire others in the team.
