  1. Work’s done for the weekend, and I’ve already picked out my clothes for tomorrow. I’m going with a 2002 Juventus top, which I’d love to see Notts copy, it has a similar feel to our 2006 kit. Even though the season hasn’t started yet, it feels close. Maybe it’s just me, but with it being our first home match since last season ended, it feels like more than just a friendly. I hope the atmosphere is spot on. That could really set the tone for the games to come.
  2. I don’t take any notice of it, and I haven’t for years. They often recycle old stories by adding bits that were written before and pretending it’s still news. The quality isn’t great. It feels lazy, and the standard has really dropped. It’s not just the Nottingham Post either, most newspapers seem to follow the same pattern.
  3. He’s a solid defender and should settle in well at Walsall. His style suits the level and he knows how to handle pressure. I doubt he’ll stay there long, maybe a season or two, but while he’s there, he’ll add experience and a steady head to the back line. They’ll benefit from having someone calm and reliable.
  4. It won’t be easy , Cardiff have some really talented players, and if they put out their best side, it’ll be a proper test for Notts. It should show how we handle both defending and attacking against a strong team. Cardiff look like they’ll be pushing hard to get back to the Championship. As for Notts, if we can stay solid at the back and make chances going forward, it’ll be a good sign. Even though it’s only a friendly, with the season just around the corner, it’ll help us see which players are match-ready.
  5. If the defence is well organised, a good goalkeeper can really shine. His height should be a big help, especially when dealing with crosses and set pieces. I’m sure the club have thought through what he offers and how he fits into the team. He wouldn't be here if they weren’t confident in his ability. I’m keen to see how he does on the pitch. Fingers crossed he gets his chance tomorrow against Cardiff.

  9. They’ve got a set amount of money to spend, but instead of coming up with smart or useful ideas, they waste it on pointless things. It shows a real lack of imagination. There are some great YouTube channels out there, like JayzTwoCents. He builds PCs and shares proper advice on tech, which can actually help people understand what they’re doing. The younger generation does seem quite focused on money. It’s as if value is judged more by how much something costs than by how useful or meaningful it is.
  10. I do wonder how long they’ll keep putting money into the club, and whether they’ll ever worry about how sustainable it all is. They used to complain about Nigel Doughty, even though he did far more for them than most Forest fans actually realise or give him credit for. It feels like they’ll need more than just hope or faith to keep climbing. A miracle won’t be enough, they need a proper plan.

  19. The tour sounds like it was worthwhile. Martin Paterson will have seen who’s solid at the back and how the team coped against decent opposition. The results don’t mean much, sure, wins help with morale, but it’s the start of the season that really matters. Paterson should now have a clearer idea of who his top players are, and how to get more out of the rest. A 1-1 draw’s not a bad way to round off the German tour, now onto the Cardiff friendly.
  20. Football would improve with independent financial regulators in place. They could help clubs manage their spending better and make sure accounts aren’t being fiddled with. When it comes to FFP, giving regulators enough power to raise concerns could stop clubs from overspending each season and keep things fair.
  21. It’s been another boiling hot day, not pleasant at all to be stuck in it. The heat’s really taken it out of me, sweaty and draining. I’ve been sat in my living room with two fans going flat out and the blinds pulled across the front. It’s still warm, but it’s finally starting to feel a bit better. Watching Notts earlier was a similar kind of pain, totally unbearable at times. Still, I believe we’ll be ready for our level when the time comes.
  22. It’s always part of football, players move on. But it’s a shame because David McGoldrick will be missed. He might have played a big part in helping us get back to League One if he’d stayed. Still, I wish him all the best at Barnsley. It’ll be worth keeping an eye on how he gets on and what their fans make of him as he settles in there.
  23. I’d give anything to go back to school. For those still in it, you might want it to end, but once you’re working and barely see your mates, you’ll start wishing you could rewind. Those years should be some of the best in your life. I’m stuck in an office now, buried under piles of paperwork. The job’s simple and pays alright, but if school had gone a bit better, I could be doing something more meaningful. Those are not the sort of things you want to mention on your travel insurance, assuming you got that sorted. Early starts and alarms don’t help much either. Got to take care of that heart. You two really bounce off each other. The way you joke around is brilliant. It’s rough when you’ve got nowhere to hide from things. Make the most of the balcony, and maybe look into ways to keep the wasps at bay. Are there any hanging baskets nearby? That could be why they keep buzzing around.
  24. They could easily work alongside each other, there’s room for both in my view. Each brings something useful and doesn't need to replace the other. I don’t always take part in the weekly chat, but I can see how it’s separate and offers something different. It’s good to have choice in how to get involved.
  25. The site’s upgrade really stands out. It’s come on massively, and that alone makes you stop and think about subscribing. The way it’s been built with care, aiming for top quality and adding useful features, it’s clear there’s been a lot of effort. It shows in every corner of the site. That’s why I’d be keen to support something like this. It’s not just a passion project for Chris, it’s something special and worth backing.
