  1. If Notts could secure a series of consecutive wins, even if a draw occurs, it would be beneficial. At this stage, it’s crucial to stop the losses. Considering where we are now compared to where the club was, I can understand why some fans want Stuart Maynard out. However, that’s not really the problem. The issue is how we are performing and perhaps someone else could organise the players enough to achieve better results, but we have problems that need to be addressed. Allowing Maynard to assist with this, while making the most of what we can from this season, will be more advantageous for the club in the long run.
  2. I’m really happy to be a member and I enjoy having meaningful chats and debates about Notts. It’s great that we can discuss topics beyond the club, without objections from those who believe a site should only focus on its main subject. I don’t use social media much, I keep it for personal matters and I wouldn’t think about discussing the club there, considering how some people can behave. It’s just not worth the trouble.
  3. Fantastic outcome for the women’s team and a clean sheet as well, a positive sign for them. I sincerely hope they carry on their journey and make their mark in the league.
  4. Regrettably, dismissing Stuart Maynard will only strengthen those supporters who were never going to give him a chance. I don’t believe most fans take pleasure in seeing the club struggle, but some do seem to enjoy it as if it validates their foresight. I think it’s unfortunate because it’s clear our recruitment team saw potential in Maynard, he’s clearly stepping up and learning on the job. It’s hard not to support someone like him because he’s such an underdog and you want to see people starting their managerial career succeed. He’s not out of his depth at all, he’s just learning and that’s part of the process. I would be extremely upset if he were sacked because the board took time to hire him. This needs more time to see if he can get the players back on form, you can’t even scratch the surface with the time he’s been given and if the results were entirely down to him I would understand more from those who want him gone but they simply aren’t. Luke Williams was wise to take his step up when he did, perhaps he sensed this was coming? We were weak at times before and although it’s not entirely his fault either, it’s showing where our team is and what areas can improve things for the long term. Defence is the issue, we need some more toughness in midfield too.
  5. It’s terrible to hear that you’re in pain, but I hope it lessens over time. The sense of unity and camaraderie here on PON is remarkable. Wishing you a speedy recovery, @Piethagoram.
  6. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, it's always good to see a new member joining the community.
  7. If they make it a proper bar, then I might use it. Food-wise, it would be good to get fresh food that doesn't charge an arm and a leg just because gourmet is slapped onto it. The Navi may try to improve things as they did with the changes made to the Embankment pub. Notts needs to do it right for it to be a big success.
  8. It sounds like a good idea. It will be interesting to see how it's executed. I would hope Notts can make a very good job of this.
  9. It's time we just tried to stop the rot by trying to encourage Notts; there's nothing to be gained from complaining, and it's not as if we are players all that bad. It's just the defending. Once the wing backs put more effort into cutting out the crosses, and the centre backs pay more attention and stop ball-watching, the better we will be.
  10. I don’t believe one person can pinpoint everything that’s currently happening with Notts. Performances have shifted from being quite entertaining and yielding some excellent results at the start of the season to being absolutely dreadful. When Notts collapses, they do so dramatically, and I find no solace in seeing our club struggle. We’ve transitioned from resembling Juve to a struggling Udinese within the same season. What might be pressure, injuries, fatigue, loss of manager etc. is starting to become a more serious issue with more fans increasingly losing their patience. So, how does Notts navigate this complex situation? It’s not as simple as winning games or sacking Stuart Maynard. Results could go a long way, but at this stage in the season, I can’t foresee a dramatic change in form. The simplest thing anyone can suggest is to win the remaining games, but considering just how many the club has lost recently, there needs to be a more collective solution.
  11. The Irish Messi, Alan Judge was an exceptional player; even though Cal Roberts is considered the Geordie Messi, the original Irish Messi remains the best.
  12. It was a commendable run, but labeling the goal as extraordinary suggests bias or limited exposure to impressive goals. Regarding passes, Messi has executed more exceptional ones in his career. By their standards, it's a straightforward play and a neat finish.
  13. There isn't a Wrexham logo or red dragon; evidently, Ryan Reynolds favours the super Notts.
  14. Enhance the defence, place Tiernan Brooks in goal, and provide him with an opportunity. It's tough for young players to get chances when certain fans express negativity on social media and are impatient for progress. I would love to witness Brooks becoming the new Darren Ward.
  15. We need to secure the victory to demonstrate that the decision at their venue doesn't have broader implications. It was disappointing, but a win would help us move on. I trust in Notts' quality; I just hope the officials meet the required standards. If they perform poorly, we might find it challenging to make our own luck.
  16. If it came at the expense of the league, then yes, but it shouldn't be imposed on clubs as the payment would be unfair. I'm all for goal-line technology, but the price could be a hindrance to its implementation.
  17. Welcome to PON! It's great to say hello to you, @TruroPieSi.
  18. I thoroughly enjoy delving into Notts’ past. It’s crucial to safeguard and respect the heritage left behind, ensuring it’s not lost to the upcoming wave of fans.
  19. It’s truly heartbreaking to hear this news. My sympathies are with the family. May Granny Pie find eternal peace.
  20. The club's dedication to player recovery by staying overnight is a masterstroke from the management. It's these little things that contribute to a bigger picture of success. Maynard and the coaching staff’s attention to detail is transforming our play style and mentality. Let’s keep this momentum rolling!
  21. It’s so like Notts to get commendation for an attack-focused player, yet struggle with defence. Jodi Jones truly merits this praise. I’m certain of it, and I believe we’re fortunate to have him.
  22. The match underscores our need to improve game management. We attempt to regain possession everywhere except our own half, which is crucial. Our players let the opposition advance. Goals hurt the team, and it’s almost expected that if we score first, we’ll likely concede soon after. This suggests a mental issue. If we can break this pattern, Notts might score a second goal, changing the game’s dynamic. If we concede, we’re inviting more goals, and then it’s game over. It’s quite vexing.
  23. At the moment, yes, but it’s uncertain whether Stuart Maynard can enhance our performance in away games. We need to improve this if we want to secure a spot in the playoffs and aim higher. It won’t be possible without better form in away matches. I hope Maynard adjusts the strategy for away games to something more balanced. The current formation works well at home, just not when we’re playing away.
  24. Setting a limit on the number of tickets one person can buy could be beneficial. None of this ‘I’ve bought my mate’s season ticket and want to add that to every season ticket card they bring’. Increase the queue for tickets and give priority to sales in person. Make allowances for recognised fans with disabilities.
  25. He might need to consult an expert to find out if anything can be done. It’s a tough injury and he obviously enjoys playing. It’s hard to recover from such an injury without recurring problems. I wish him all the best.
