  1. Notts have eight cup finals to the end of the season & it starts away to Newport County. Other teams around Notts keep losing. I can't remember a league being as poor as this one has been this season. Just when you think a team is going to put a run together they unexpectedly lose. Bradford & Colchester have been the only teams to have put a decent run together during February & March. Despite the Notts poor form, they are still in with a shouting chance of getting automatic promotion. Unfortunately, help from other teams isn't going to last & Notts need to start winning starting on Saturday. Somehow, I feel more confident with Notts being away rather than them being at home.
  2. It's been a lovely day here. Wonderful spring sunshine. It was a beautiful day too have a long walk. A two & a half hour walk & 15K steps later it was worth it. Getting some Sun too was a bonus. It will be back in the garden tomorrow, if it is fine to mow the lawn & some hoeing too. Nice to switch off the heating off for a change as it has been so pleasant today.
  3. Your Wednesday Morning Weather
  4. League 2 fixtures Fri 28th March. 7:45pm Kick off Big game with two teams, Colchester & Grimsby competing against Notts playing each other. A draw would be a good result for us. Colchester v Grimsby Tranmere v Cheltenham
  5. Port Vale lost to Barrow. MK Dons drew with Carlisle. So Port Vale failed to score any points with their game in hand over Notts Still everything to play for. Latest League 2 table after tonight's games
  6. This is a very strange one. Shrewsbury are bottom of League 1 & look as though they will be back in League 2 next season. Very strange for a Club to appoint a Head Coach who was about to see his present club on the way to being relegated. Gillingham must be seeing something in him that most of the rest of football lovers don't. It has been confirmed in the last hour that he has become Gillingham first Team Manager. I wish him luck with his new position. Very clever move from Ainsworth, jumping ship before being forced to walk the plank.
  7. I'm pleased that Cal Roberts is doing well for Scunthorpe after all the injury problems that he has had in the recent past. It looks like Scunthorpe are set for promotion from the National League North & Cal is playing a big part in their resurgence. It will be nice the see Scunthorpe back in the National League & hopefully they may be challenging for Football League status next season, so long as they achieve promotion. Lots of Notts fans like myself we're sorry to see Cal leave Notts but as our owners always say, everyone has their price & Cal was no exception. It didn't work out for him at Aberdeen but he is thriving at a lower level with Scunthorpe. I may be wrong, but I do feel he would struggle with the physicality of playing for a League 2 club like Notts.
  8. Sam hasn't had much first team football this season until Alex Bass was injured & many of the Notts fans were saying that losing Bass for probably the rest of the season was a big blow to Notts's promotion ambition.. However, Sam has come into the side & he has two clean sheets to his name in the three matches he has played since Bass's injury. I am confident that Sam will be a good replacement for Bass during the run in till the end of the season. Do other Pride of Nottingham members agree or disagree with me?
  9. @super_ram I agree, it was fantastic footage of a bygone time. Huddersfield went on to beat Preston North End 1:0 in the final played at Stamford Bridge. It was the first final to be decided by a penalty kick. It was controversial because, the foul was clearly outside the penalty area, confirmed by newsreel footage. Apparently it was the last final before the opening of Wembley Stadium.
  10. Bit of a come down if he finishes up going there. Personally, they are welcome to him. All out attack but a leaky defence isn't going to get a club out of league 2. Then if somewhere better comes along he'll probably be off.
  11. Good Morning. Looks like we had a little brain last night. This morning it is cloudy being Sunny intervals. Come across this footage from Notts County History on X. 103 years ago today Notts were involved in an FA Cup semifinal against Huddersfield at Turf Moor in front of almost 50,000 spectators. Notts lost 1:3 but the brief footage of the game is remarkable & shows the Notts goal.
  12. Post match thoughts from Tuchel.
