Notts Alumni: Ben Davies
Great read about Ben Davies. He was a very good player for Notts.

Lost railways of Nottingham
I visited Victoria Station a few times with my Dad to do some train spotting. It was a sin when they closed it because it was a much better line to the South and North. My Dad said at the time that they would regret closing it, plus other Stations & ripping up all those lines around the Country during the Beeching cuts, & I believe the powers that be do regret it, now that the roads are getting gridlocked.

Notts County’s Momentum: ‘One-nil Up is Not Job Done,’ Says Luke Williams
Luke has identified where the problems are and he's ready to go into the upcoming transfer window to strengthen the areas where we are lacking in defence, midfield & goalkeeper. I'm sure Luke Knows who he wants out of the players who will be available during the January window. Now that Macari has signed permanently, that gives us another option on the loan front too. Maybe go for a goalkeeper here to cover for Sam. I'm confident Luke will sort it.

One for the older supporters
In addition to Brad, Stubbs & Tony, some other names from that team: Bill Brindley & Bob Worthington solid full backs :David Needham centre back later with Forest under Clough: Don Masson midfield future Scotland international: Jon Nixon & Charlie Crickmore on the wings. Barry Watling solid goalie: Mick Jones defender but could play anywhere in defence. Richie Barker forward came from Derby. They were exceptional all over the pitch.

One for the older supporters
What a team that was. Tony Hateley coming back for his second spell, scoring 32 goals from 57 appearances. And, How could we do with Brian Stubbs at the heart of our defence right now? Oh and how could I forget. We had Les Bradd too, terrorising those opposition defences & the mystro Don Masson orchestrating everything good from midfield. Unfortunately, I don't remember who we were playing at the time in a home fixture that season, but I can see it now, Charlie Crickmore down the wing with a pin point cross right on Tony's head and the keeper had no chance. One of the best headers of the ball, I've seen. It was a great side built by Jimmy. That Championship Win was the beginning of a couple of decades of success that I will never ever forget.

Highlights 2023
A fantastic 12 months of success for our great club. The progress that we have made during this time is absolutely remarkable, but also well deserved, setting records on the way. Not only winning promotion, but in a position at the end of 2023 to challenge for back to back promotions. Roll on 2024.

From the Stands to the Field: The Impact of Notts County Fans on Match Days
Like with every Notts fan, I've gone through every emotion following this Club. This club has something special about it. The history, the successes tinged with the failures, the ups, & the downs, Witnessing milestones like 3k, 4k & 5k league matches Privileged to see 3 great Managers and witnessing us going from the Fourth to the First Division. And last but certainly not least, being part of this great and loyal fanbase that have played their part in the success of the club. Long may it continue.

Luke Williams Confident in Notts County’s Ability to Achieve Sustained Success
I believe in Luke Williams & I am convinced that he will get us out of the blip in form, & turn things around in the new year. To be still in sixth place and challenging for a play off spot halfway through the season. I'm sure many Notts fans would have settled for that at the beginning of the campaign.

Notts County Welcomes Lewis Macari to the Family Permanently

Macualay Langstaff Reflects on a Remarkable Year for Notts County
Macaulay has written himself into Notts County folklore with his goals that got us back into the Football League. I just hope that he will stick around at Meadow Lane for a few years because he can certainly make more history for Notts & help us to climb that Football pyramid.

What's the point of VAR?
Agree. The officials in Rugby & Cricket seem to be clued up and work with their VAR system much better than the Football officials do. I thought that VAR was supposed to eliminate most of the mistakes by the Ref but it is clearly not doing that at all. VAR is actually causing even more controversy.

Mark Stallard’s Take: ‘Lack of Inspiration’ Plagues Notts County’s Play
Again, expert analysis by Mark. I agree that we are lacking inspiration on the pitch at this time. I believe that confidence leads to an inspired performance & confidence is clearly on the low side following a poor set of results. I do believe that we could do no wrong by signing a player with a presence on the pitch, who's prepared get stuck in, a bit of a hard man, tall, strong, & can lead & inspire others on the pitch, a Brian Kilcline type. I'd also sign an additional defender, defensive midfielder & additional attacker. I also believe our tactics should be a little different for away matches being a little more defensive & rely on the quick break more.We have shown that we can create & score goals playing in different ways. We will always be a threat to any side with our forward line. In the end it is Luke that has to get things right, and I'm confident he'll do that.

What's the point of VAR?
I've reserected this thread because VAR is in the news again, and I'm asking what's the point of VAR? The whole system needs a total revamp, because in it's present state, it is not fit for purpose. The authorities should even consider suspending it. Every match that uses VAR there is controversy over a decision by the Referee or the VAR team. There is confusion over interpretation of the VAR rules. VAR is missing critical events in a game, then the authorities say VAR cannot rule on that incident VAR is becoming a total farce and changes need to be made. I believe VAR should be either allowed to rule on more incidents and the VAR officials given more powers, otherwise trim VAR down to goal line decisions and ruling over yellow and red cards only. World football really needs to address the VAR problem and the FA need to be leading on this too.

sum how watching notts makes you feel right now
It's now 23rd December.I feel good because we are back in the Football League. I feel less confident about us winning matches than I did a few weeks ago. However, I am very confident that we will turn this poor spell around after Xmas. Feeling good, & feeling very optimistic.

Notts County’s Luke Williams on Team Performance: ‘We Cannot Be So Scared to Play Football’
I believe Luke is the best Manager to take us forward and possibly get us into the playoffs at the end of the regular season. I love to see passion in a Manager and Luke has lots of that. I believe it only needs the right players to come in at the January window to turn our fortunes around, and I want some of Luke's passion transferred into the way we play too. In the new year, I'd like to see the 50 point mark achieved first then push on from there.

Late Drama Unfolds as Notts County Falls Short Against Stockport County
On the whole it was a much better performance by the lads tonight. We needed to be near our best and I believe we were. Unfortunately we once again became undone with silly errors. I am encouraged to see that we are still scoring goals in virtually every game we play. Cut out the silly errors defensively and we can still finish in and around the playoffs. January transfer window will probably decide our season.

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Hatters (A)
