Some players don't have what it takes to score
We have already seen the attacking midfield players chipping in with assists & goals. Iorpenda: 3 assistsLuker: 3 assists, 1 goalHall: 1 assist, 3 goalsJones: 1 assist, 1 goal Grant: 1 goal Matt Palmer has chipped in with 2 assists, Robertson: 1 goal Tsaroulla has 1 assist & 2 goals So players all around the team are chipping in with assists & goals. I think Iorpenda, Luker & Hall will become the lynchpin of the AM area. If they can chip in over the next 75% of the season they should all have an impressive tally of assists & goals

Weekly chat Monday 6th to Sunday 12th October
Looks like we had rain here again last night. That's 3 nights in the trot. The lawn is continuing to grow. Looks like we may have to cut it again the way things are going. Our flowers are still holding on. Our garden is very sheltered so it does help the flowers to avoid the frost unless it gets very cold. Two of our hanging baskets seem to have had a new lease of life too. Without a Notts match looks like I'll be watching a film or two today although I'll keep an eye on the local football scene.

Jamal Blackman signs for Morecambe
That's the question isn't it. In my opinion his attributes as a goalkeeper would have been what Notts would have needed. He's played at various levels & his game is supported by having good agility & composure, with ability to command his area. Experience: At 31 years old, he has a lot of experience playing as a goalkeeper. Physical attributes: He is known for being a tall and strong goalkeeper with good agility and balance. Playing style: Blackman is described as being a solid, confident, and dominant goalkeeper, particularly in the air. The question is. Would he have been an improvement in the goalkeeping department? I would have said yes to that

Burton Albion lose £8m last season
The Football Regulator is going to have a very busy job when he or she final gets in place. Lots of work to do to fix lots of problems regarding football club finance. Will it ever be fixed? I very much doubt it the way things are going.

No Notts fixture tomorrow. Looks like I will have to follow some of the local non league teams & see how they are doing. Notts Women are playing at home Sunday against Worcester City, so will be looking forward to that one.- Does True Crime Interest Anyone?
I used to watch Crimewatch UK from when it was first aired in 1984 with Nick Ross & Sue Cook, & later Jill Dando, but stopped watching from the 2000 onward as I thought it wasn't the same without those three.- Richard Montague returns
It was an absolute masterstroke by the Owners to bring Richard back. I believe his appointment could help the club to achieve promotion this season. The January transfer window is always big, and it's vital for the club to make the best choices over recruitment at that particular time. I think Richard could make the difference. I also believe that he will be a massive influence around the club, & will be able to support & be that go to person for Martin Paterson when he needs it.- First Eleven Choices. Who's your Choice?
I believe that Martin Paterson wants every squad member to prove to him that they are that person to be in the starting eleven. During among seasons there are always going to be injuries & suspensions to players. Some players will need to be rested, so a strong squad is essential to a club that has promotion in mind. But it is a fact of life that players who cannot get into the starting eleven are going to be disappointed, even if they are regularly on the bench & get on the field as substitutes. It already appears that players like Grant, Griffiths, Norburn, Ness, Cotter, Bennetts, Aljofree & Luker are now mostly on the bench, which leaves others like Jarvis, Kouhyar, Traoré & Gordon, fighting to get a place on the bench. Platt has been injured & will find it hard to return to the starting eleven when he returns.. Martin Paterson will have to Manage any player discontent & it may mean that some players will have to go on loan for game time. But as I wrote previously, it only takes a few injuries to change the whole situation & fringe players suddenly become very important players that the Head Coach will need. So the who squad may well be needed at some point during the season. The Head Coaches job isn't always easy.- Play-off semis revisited
I liked Stuart Maynard. I thought he was a good Coach but not a Head Coach, & I think that his laid back personality rubbed off on the players somewhat, so that when it came to close games, Notts seemed to come out 2nd best most of the time especially toward the end of the season. Stuart also had a propensity to be a bit negative at times. He would tend to want to play safe rather than go for th jugular to kill teams off, which cost Notts quite a few points during the season. As far as the first semi final against Wimbledon at Meadow Lane, Notts were the better side for long periods & had plenty of chances to bury Wimbledon in the first & second halves. Grant had several gilt head chances, Jodi hit the post & Grant had one cleared off the line near the end. Then the incidents that sealed out fate for the second leg, Didzy going off injured, & Jatta getting sent off due to his frustration. On another day, or if Notts had had a different Head Coach who had installed a different attitude in the players to get on the front foot & overwhelm sides rather than just do enough to get over the line Notts could have easily won that first play off leg convincingly, which may have given Wimbledon too much to do in the 2nd leg. I think that you are right @The Anti-Clough that the Notts side were just not up for the important matches last season. I just think it came down to Head Coach personality in the end. I do think we now have a Head Coach that will get the Notts players to win through on those important occasions because they will come thick & fast towards the end of this season too.- Compendium of Word Games

This is where the Football Regulator needs to come in and ensure that every potential owner of a football club is fully investigated to ensure they are suitable to own & run a Club in the football pyramid. Hopefully if this is what is going to happen going forward it will ensure that instances like this are put firmly in the history books.- Some Free Agents Notts Could Look At
@Ash You are making your case well. There is still some uncertainty with Macari & whether he will be suspended or not & how long his suspension would be. There is a question mark with Traoré & whether he'll make the grade as a Notts striker. Roos needs to improve, because the goalkeeping position is so important to a side wanting to be promotion contenders. I think that Richard Montague coming to Notts could have reopened the possibility of move n the transfer market before the January transfer window. - Connections game
