I've said previously that Kelle was a good shot stopper but lacking when commanding his box & his distribution was poor. But when you look at the League 2 stats they tell us that in the 24 matches that Roos played in the first half of the season, Notts accumulated 39 points. In the 22 matches that Belshaw played, Notts accumulated 41 points. So Roos did play a reasonable part in Notts getting to the playoffs, & by doing that, he played his part in a successful season. But I do believe that Notts made the right decision to replace him because it gave Notts that extra boost that got us over the line.

I watch it this afternoon. It's a great watch & I would recommend that if any Notts fan can spare the time it's well worth it. Congratulations to K-Ci Rennicks for a great interview. I will always look upon Jodi as a Notts icon. There are so many highlights during his career at Notts, the record assists, the vital goals that he scored, the special moments that he created in the playoffs, his personality on and off the pitch shone through too. A special player & person. The club has to move on, but I think we will all miss him. I hope that he can continue the success at Bromley, but hopefully not against us.

@Michael D Pie. It rained here all night. The ground is so soggy. I was planning to cut the grass on Saturday, but the grass will probably be too wet. Remarkable how things change. Have to take in a week's worth of blood pressure readings to the Doctor's surgery later after attending my long term condition check up last week which included blood work. Also had my 6 monthly check up at the Dentist. Thankfully no problems there. Will be watching some Notts cricket on the Telly today. That's one thing that is free at the moment, the Nottinghamshire CCC Live stream.

League 1: The Terriers (A). Venue: Accu Stadium. Date: Saturday 5th September Kick off: 15:00 pm. Notts travel to Huddersfield unbeaten in their first 4 matches but will face in Huddersfield their severest test so far. Huddersfield current sit at the top of League One & are unbeaten themselves. Their record so far is 3 wins & 1 draw. They have scored 10 & conceded 3. Last season, Huddersfield finished in 9th place on 67 points. They won 18, drew 13 & lost 15, scoring 74 goals & conceding 64. Their form in the last 5 games was patchy winning 1 drawing 3 & losing 1. With more consistency they could have secured a playoff place. Huddersfield have been busy in the summer transfer market recruiting 8 players & releasing 4. Their standout signing was a Dutch footballer Derensili Sanches Fernandes who cost them €1million from a Dutch side. The notable outgoings was Tom Iorpenda who went to Swansea. Huddersfield's style of play is a little different to what Notts have faced so far. Huddersfield employ a high intensity, energetic hard working style with an aggressive high press known as the "Terrier Identity". You could say it is a similar style to how Notts are playing currently under Martin Paterson It will be interesting to see how Notts will approach this match. Both sides with similar styles hoping to cancel each other out. The onus is on Huddersfield to go forward, so there could be opportunities for Notts on the break. It will be fascinating who comes out on top. Two unbeaten sides going toe to toe, should be a good game for the neutral. Notts should have a good following cheering them on. Hopefully Notts will give a good account of themselves in their severest test yet in League One. So what are your thoughts about the prospects for Notts in this game?

I think that this window has been one of the best windows we have witnessed since the Reedtz brothers took charge. We have seen recruitment for all over the pitch. I think that Notts have sufficient cover in all the important areas apart from the goalkeeping position. I think that the squad has been well strengthened for Notts to be able to compete at this level. The new players are performing well so far. I think that the cohesiveness of the team can only get better as the season progresses. I would have liked the Club to have brought in another experienced senior goalkeeper to cover for Belshaw, especially now Roos had gone. Young Griffiths is the present cover, but if Belshaw was to get injured, I'm sure that the club would bring in emergency cover. Why not have that experienced cover already here? I was disappointed that Jatta left. I thought that he would have done well in League One. We don't know whether he was offered an improved contract. Personally I believe Jatta made a mistake in going. I hope he won't regret leaving further down the line. If Notts can get some of their injured players back, I think Notts will be in a very good place & Patterson will have his work cut out choosing his best eleven, which is always a good thing. Overall I think that Richard Montague & his recruitment team have done a great job over the summer.

The sun is out here. It's a big change from yesterday. Yesterday here was similar to a late autumn day with low cloud with very low light. The garden is starting to look lush again with all the recent rain. It will be time to get the lawnmower out in a few days. One thing I have noticed with all the dry weather, don't know if it is connected, but we haven't seen so many bees in the garden this summer, although we have had a large number of flowers that we have watered regularly. We have a large American Lilac bush at the back of the garden and it usually attracts lots of bees when it's in flower. The previous year we had lots and lots of bees doing what they do visiting our garden.

Richard sat down with the Notts media team before the Match against Doncaster on Tuesday evening. He reflected on a busy summer transfer window. He discussed the three recent acquisitions, Finneran, Longelo, Kanu. He talked about some of the players that left. Richard always comes over as a very positive person and this interview was no different. Listening to the interview I get the feeling that the club is pleased with the players that they managed to recruit. He talked about having regular meetings with Martin Paterson, sometimes several times a day. There was also a hint of good news that Palmer, & McDonald could only be a few weeks away from being in a position to be selected if needed. Sanders & Browne not a million miles away. Whether he is being optimistic or not, it does seem that the players are working hard to regain their match fitness

Pity things didn't turn out for Kelle at Notts. After he had played his last game for Notts before Belshaw took over Notts were in seventh place on 39 points from 24 matches. His stats as far as goals conceded & clean sheets were comparable with Belshaw's at the end of the regular season. He demonstrated that he was a good shot stopper. I think that what let Kelle down was his apparent lack of command of his area & it seemed that the Notts defence became much more confident when he was replaced. The club have wished him well for the future and so do I. He did contribute to us getting promotion during the first half of the season.

I think that we saw Jodi at his best under Luke Williams and Stuart Maynard. Under Luke Williams the emphasis was on attacking and scoring more goals than the opposition. Jodi was in his element with this footballing style. I don't think that we saw the same Jodi under Paterson apart from a few glimpses such as the playoff final. I think that Jodi was less comfortable with the current Notts style of play & I don't think that he was going to get a regular spot in the starting eleven this season. I think that it was the right time for him to move on.

I think that it has been a very interesting transfer window as far as Notts are concerned. The players that have been brought in are a fair reflection on how Martin Paterson wants his team to play. Fifteen players recruited in a transfer window is a lot of players, who I believe have fundamentally changed the way that Notts will play. The playing philosophy of Williams & Maynard has definitely gone. I think that the owners have realised that there is still room for a few flair players, but the overwhelming number of players in the squad now need to have a relentless work ethic, which includes mental & physical resilience, commitment, & competitiveness, traits that Martin Paterson wants in his match squads We've already seen those traits working to the full in the first five competitive games of the season & it has proved to be very effective in carving out positive results for the Club.
