How to beat Bromley
I was wondering how to beat Bromley so much I did a Google search on it. Here's what Google says: Beating Bromley FC this season requires a disciplined approach to handle their organized, high-energy style under manager Andy Woodman, which has made them serious promotion contenders. Key Tactical Approaches to Beat Bromley: Nullify Michael Cheek: The striker is highly prolific and often the focal point of their attack. Tight man-marking and preventing service into him is critical. Weather Early Pressure & Avoid Conceding First: Bromley often looks to start strongly, sometimes scoring within the opening minutes. Teams that fail to handle this early intensity often lose. Exploit Defensive Transitions: While solid, high-pressing teams can disrupt their rhythm. Oldham Athletic, for example, found success by breaking down their defence late in the game. Physical Discipline and Set-Pieces: Bromley is well-organized and physically demanding. Teams need to be solid at the back and competitive in aerial duels. Target the Goalkeeper/Defence under pressure: Although Grant Smith is a strong keeper capable of magical saves, putting them under consistent pressure, particularly in the second half, has led to breakthroughs for opponents. Lessons from Their Losses/Draws: Oldham Athletic (Won 1-0): Showed that patience and finding a late winner can break them down. Crewe Alexandra (Drew 2-2): Demonstrated that attacking pressure, particularly in the second half, can force errors and comebacks. Chesterfield (Drew 0-0): Proved that strong defensive organization can limit their scoring chances. In short: Stop Michael Cheek, resist their early pressure, and maintain high intensity for 90+ minutes To beat Bromley FC in the 2025/26 season, teams must exploit their defensive inconsistencies when protecting leads and neutralize their reliance on set-piece goals. Currently sitting 1st in League Two as of February 9, 2026, they have proven exceptionally difficult to break down but remain vulnerable to individual errors and high-intensity attacking pressure. Tactical Strategy Exploit "Lead Anxiety": Bromley have a documented history of dropping points after scoring first (26 points dropped in 11 games where they scored the opener last season). If they take a lead, aggressive pressure can force defensive lapses and lapses in focus. Force Them Wide: Manager Andy Woodman often utilizes a compact 3-5-2 formation to dominate central areas. Teams that can quickly transition and utilize skilful wingers to stretch the backline horizontally can bypass their mid-block mastery. Set-Piece Discipline: Bromley have netted more dead-ball goals than almost any other team in the EFL. Avoiding "cheap" fouls in the final third and maintaining high concentration during corners is critical to preventing their primary route to goal

Contenders
I'd love to think you're right. However, we were 2nd in the league , this time last season, then blobbed it in the Play Offs against a streetwise and physical wimbledon. Then again, we are a more streetwise and physical team ourselves this season. That active ingredient has been been accentuated by Patto, who has players like Robbo playing much more aggressive, breaking up opposition play, and effecting the game. An element which Maynard was missing at this level. But Ihope you are right. I hope we keep this run going, with three points at Bromley next week.

Marinakis or The brothers...
Look at the photograph, it says so much. The King of the Castle in the Forest. He is a spoilt brat throwing toys (managers) out of the pram. I am yet to come across anyone with an understanding of football, think that getting rid of a manager who did so well in the premiership, gets you into European football and appoint someone who was fourth from bottom in the PL and won a European trophy a good appointment. The Board and Forest fans are in silence. Stockholm Syndrome, held hostage to the power he yields. I could not give you the name of many premier league club owners, because they stay in the background, unlike Marinakis. Yes, as the Stockholm Syndrome Forest fans state, its good to have an owner who attends every game and is so motivated. But there is a line and he has crossed it. I cannot see top notch managers go to the City Ground now, too much of a loose cannon. Compare him to our owners, I know who I'd rather have.

Roos
After 60 minutes he's the man of the match against Barnet.

Roos
When we were 4-0 up against Crawley and 3.1 up against Oldham, I found him most entertaining. Otherwise somewhat alarming.

Takeaways from the win against Oldham
some excellent points made on here. In addition, Martin and his pitchside teams' subsitutions have been a revelation. Early in the 2nd half when Oldham had taken control of midfield, had got their 54th minute goal and were asking serious questions of our defence and goalkeeper. The triple subsitution in the 65th minute curtailed Oldhams' attack and allowed Notts to effectively manage the game out. Martin and his teams data-driven decisions had a major impact. More of these please.

Notts Injury Watch 2025/26
I think the Bromley game showed us how much we will miss Platt in defence. He is what we have missed for so long, a no nonsense defender who guards the goal, clears the ball, joins up with the midfield, and critically inspires confidence in his colleagues. I'd go far as to say that Bromley's first goal was the sort of clearance he'd have dealt with, giving is all three points. I think McDonald is a decent defender, as is Bedeau. Alijofree shows potential, but i want to see more. It all shows how vulnerable we are. Whilst, we are talking about injuries, Refs need to be protecting Jodi better. he's being targeted, by players who are having a free reign. I fear an injury will take him out again, unless he is given more protection.

10 Game Target
How about we wait for ten games first? The Board caused Didz to leave, sold the best keeper in the league and we don't have AJ for another two games. But apparently, its all MP's fault? Let him get AJ back, give him 5 games with the totemic goalscorer, then judge. So many opinions, two footed tackles and aspersions here based on 'rumours'. No wonder the city is known as the Whispering City

Reasons for Optimism
A positive.....when we went down two nil, and we made a subsitution I said "Let's see if he can make a goal from a subsitution". Within ten minutes the sub had scored. A question.... what is the Plan B when there is a high-press like Salford had on us on Saturday? Cloughie was the first to do it on the first season back back in League 2, when the stags beat us 4.1. since then, when a team emulates them with a high press, we have little options, and as evidendenced on saturday, team can conjure a goal by putting us under pressure, forcing errors from defence and goalkeepers alike. what is Plan B in that scenario?

Home kit out now
Great shirt. The advertiser is a Notts fan. Just shows what can be done if it is thought about and tweaked, rather than saying saying heres the shirt, heres the sponsor, get on with it. I just wish my name was David James.

Jatta rumour
Goal scorers will always attract attention. I don't see Notts selling him.
